This paper addresses unit commitment for microgrid optimization including renewable energy sources, working under deregulated power market. As microgrid supplies both heat and electricity for consumer, operational optimization must be done to meet their demand economically. So renewable energy sources are considered to be negative load, and batteries are used as the load flattening device to raise possibly operational function. In the state of solution, the program is developed to solve out the maximum profit of microgrid using dynamic programming method. Finally, its validity is verified through case study in isolation mode and interconnected mode. The S/W will be used to operate microgrid economically after the market of microgrid is formed.
As the number of Coronavirus Disease-19 (COVID-19) patients increases in a global pandemic situation, the usefulness of mobile computed tomography (CT) is gaining attention. Currently, mobile CT follows the basic safety and essential performance evaluation criteria of whole-body or limited-view X-ray CT in order to obtain device approval and evaluation in the Republic of Korea. Unlike stationary CT, mobile CT is not operated in shielded areas but rather areas such as intensive care units, operating rooms, or isolation rooms. Therefore, it requires a different basic safety and essential performance evaluation standard than stationary CT. In this study, four derived basic safety evaluation criteria related to electrical, mechanical, and radiation safety were included (dose indication test, protection against stray radiation, safety measures against excessive X-rays, half-value layer measurement); and seven essential performance evaluation criteria were included (tube voltage accuracy, mAs accuracy, radiation dose reproducibility, CT number of water, noise, uniformity, and spatial resolution); total eleven basic safety and essential performance evaluation criteria were selected. This study aims to establish appropriate basic safety and essential performance evaluation criteria for simultaneously obtaining images with diagnostic value and reducing the exposure of nearby patients, medical staff, and radiologic technologists during the use of mobile CT.
In this study, we demonstrated a silica nanofibrous membrane based on the electrospinning process and evaluated its DNA isolation and purification performance in PCR pretreatment. Generally, silica membranes made of non-woven fabric are used for PCR pretreatment, but this study aimed to improve the efficiency of the pretreatment process by developing a nanofiber-type silica membrane with high specific surface area and porosity. In order to manufacture a nanofiber-shaped silica film while maintaining the original physical properties of silica, nanofiber membranes produced by adding various concentrations of PEO (5 wt%, 8 wt%, and 10 wt%) to silica prepared by the sol-gel method were compared. In terms of nanofiber membrane production, the higher the PEO concentration, the more effective it was in producing nanofiber membranes. The produced silica nanofiber membrane was inserted to a pretreatment device used in commercial PCR equipment, and the pretreatment performance was compared and verified using Salmonella bacteria. When Salmonella was used, samples containing 5 wt% PEO showed superior PCR efficiency compared to samples containing 8 wt% and 10 wt% PEO. These results show that adding 5 wt% of PEO can effectively improve DNA purification and separation by producing a nanofiber-shaped silica film while maintaining the physical properties of silica. We expect that this study will contribute to the development of effective PCR pretreatment technology essential for various molecular biology applications.
The solar cell need the characteristic interpreting because the solar cell changes greatly according to the isolation, temperature and load in the photovoltaic development. Moreover, to get many energy in photovoltaic development need the position tracking of the sun according to the environment change. Also, The solar cells should be operated at the maximum power point. In this paper, I used microprocessor and sensor and designed to improve the efficiency of the photovoltaic system the photovoltaic position tracker device, and compared the normal photovoltaic system of fixed form with the photovoltaic system of solar position tracked form. Moreover, compared the catalogue of solar cell module and the simulation through a mathematics modelling with the solar cell's characteristic interpreting and composed an power conversion system with boost converter and voltage source inverter. Used the constant voltage control method for maximum power point tracking in boost converter control and, used the SPWM(Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation) control method in inverter control. The result was less then 5% when compared the catalogue of solar cell module and the simulation through a mathematics modelling. The boost rate of boost converter was similar to 167 % with the simulation.
The ground in cold region consists of active and permafrost layers. The active layer at the unstable state may cause ground corrosion and uplift, when the temperature of frozen ground increases due to seasonal changes. The thermosyphon is one of the stabilization methods to maintain the ground stability in the frozen ground. The thermosyphon is a closed two-phase convection device that extracts heat from the ground and discharges it into the atmosphere. In this study, ground freezing experiment using a thermosyphon and simulated ground with the isolation material was conducted to evaluate the thermal performance of the thermosyphon. In order to consider the thermal performance of the thermosyphon, commercial numerical program (TEMP/W) was adopted. Likewise, the thermal performance of thermosyphon and thermal properties of ground were applied in the numerical model. In a series of comparisons with experiment results and numerical study, thermal performance of thermosyphon can be evaluated.

In this paper, we proposed a I-gate n-MOSFET (n-type Metal Oxide Semiconductors Field Effect Transistor) structure in order to mitigate a radiation-induced leakage current path in an isolation oxide interface of a silicon-based standard n-MOSFET. The proposed I-gate n-MOSFET structure was designed by using a layout modification technology in the standard 0.18um CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) process, this structure supplements the structural drawbacks of conventional radiation-tolerant electronic device using layout modification technology such as an ELT (Enclosed Layout Transistor) and a DGA (Dummy Gate-Assisted) n-MOSFET. Thus, in comparison with the conventional structures, it can ensure expandability of a circuit design in a semiconductor-chip fabrication. Also for verification of a radiation-tolerant characteristic, we carried out M&S (Modeling and Simulation) using TCAD 3D (Technology Computer Aided Design 3-dimension) tool. As a results, we had confirmed the radiation-tolerant characteristic of the I-gate n-MOSFET structure.
The accumulator is a passive safety injection device for emergency core cooling systems. As an important safety feature for providing a high-speed injection flow to the core by compressed nitrogen gas pressure during a loss-of-coolant accident (LOCA), the accumulator injects its precharged nitrogen into the system after its coolant has been emptied. Attention has been drawn to the possible negative effects caused by such a nitrogen injection in passive safety nuclear power plants. Although some experimental work on the nitrogen injection has been done, there have been no comparative tests in which the effects on the system responses and the core safety have been clearly assessed. In this study, a new thermal hydraulic integral test facility-the advanced core-cooling mechanism experiment (ACME)-was designed and constructed to support the CAP1400 safety review. The ACME test facility was used to study the nitrogen injection effects on the system responses to the small break loss-of-coolant accident LOCA (SBLOCA) transient. Two comparison test groups-a 2-inch cold leg break and a double-ended direct-vessel-injection (DEDVI) line break-were conducted. Each group consists of a nitrogen injection test and a nitrogen isolation comparison test with the same break conditions. To assess the nitrogen injection effects, the experimental data that are representative of the system responses and the core safety were compared and analyzed. The results of the comparison show that the effects of nitrogen injection on system responses and core safety are significantly different between the 2-inch and DEDVI breaks. The mechanisms of the different effects on the transient were also investigated. The amount of nitrogen injected, along with its heat absorption, was likewise evaluated in order to assess its effect on the system depressurization process. The results of the comparison and analyses in this study are important for recognizing and understanding the potential negative effects on the passive core cooling performance caused by nitrogen injection during the SBLOCA transient.

This paper presents a channel structure for promising high performance pseudomorphic high electron mobility transistor(pHEMT) switching device for design and fabricating of microwave control circuits, such as switches, phase shifters, attenuators, limiters, for application in personal mobile communication systems. Using the designed epitaxial channel layer structure and ETRI's $0.5\mu$m pHEMT switch process, single pole double throw (SPDT) Tx/Rx monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) switch was fabricated for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz band wireless local area network (WLAN) systems. The SPDT switch exhibits a low insertion loss of 0.849 dB, high isolation of 32.638 dB, return loss of 11.006 dB, power transfer capability of 25dBm, and 3rd order intercept point of 42dBm at frequency of 5.8GHz and control voltage of 0/-3V These performances are enough for an application to 5 GHz band WLAN systems.
There are numerous reports on the relative risk of pelvic inflammatory disease among the users versus the nonusers of intrauterine device. Reported relative risk varied from no difference between the two groups to 3-9 fold increase in the users. In an attempt to define this relative risk of pelvic inflammatory disease and related microorganisms ,pelvic organ observation and bacteriological study were done through laparoscopy. Specimens for microbiologic culture were obtained simultaneously from the fallopian tubes via laparoscopy and from the endocervix via regular pelvic examination method. The study population was consisted of 30 I.U.D.users and 35 J.U.D.nonusers who visited the Yonsei University Severance Hospital and the Sung-Ga Hospital for laparoscopic sterilization. The results obtained were as follows: 1. There was no difference in age distribution, economic status and numbers of parity and abortion between I.U.D. users and I.U.D. nonusers. 2. The pelvic inflammatory findings were noted on laparoscopy in 2 cases of I.U.D. users, with an incidence of 6.6%. And no pelvic inflammatory finding was noted in any of the nonusers, but this difference was not statistically significant (p>0.005). 3. All the bacteriologic culture of the specimens from the fallopian tubes of both groups yielded negative results. 4. The bacteriologic culture of the spec imens f rom the endocervix revealed more frequent isolation of possible pathogen such as Hem ophilus ,alpha-Streptococcus ,Corynebacteria, Bacteroides in the I.U.D.users than in the nonusers. But,this difference was also not statistically significant (p>0.005).
