연료전지에 의해 구동되는 용접기용 단상 컨버터 설계 (Single Phase Converter Design for Fuel Cell Based Welding Machine)

  • It is generally used the boost converter for the welding machine using fuel cell. But this type generates the duplicate loss between boost converter and inverter. As a result, the whole efficiency is lower than conventional inverter arc welder and the cost is expensive due to additional switching device. Therefore, we proposed the inverter rectification type DC-DC converter with boost converter function in fuel cell based TIG welder. The performance of the proposed technique is evaluated on a 1.2kW fuel cell stack based experimental prototype circuit.

Experimental Study on Characteristics of Two-Phase Flow through a Bypass Orifice Expansion Device

  • To establish optimum cycle of the inverter-driven heat pump with a variation of frequency, the bypass orifice, which was a short tube haying a bypass hole in the middle, was designed and tested. Flow characteristics of the bypass orifice were measured as a function of orifice geometry and operating conditions. Flow trends with respect to frequency were compared with those of short tube orifices and capillary tubes. Generally, the bypass orifice showed the best flow trends among them. and it would enhance the seasonal energy efficiency ratio of an inverter heat pump system, Based on experimental data, a semi-empirical flow model was developed to predict mass flow rate through bypass orifices. The maximum difference between measured data and model`s prediction was within $\pm$5%.

  • This paper shows a structure for an electronic ballast of HID lamps. An electronic ballast for HID lamps usually employs a high-frequency resonant inverter and voltage-to-frequency converter to control the output. A half-bridge and series resonant circuit are chosen for the ballast. The inverter with V/F converter is modeled with a transfer function and a self-feedback controller is proposed. This structure is analyzed and the feedback gain is determined by using the inverter model. Experimental system is built with a commercial 250W high pressure sodium lamp and the results show a validity of the proposed ballast.

  • The output characteristics of VSI by transistor depend upon bias signal with drive circuit. As the CTI is one of the VSI, takes case PWM output voltage. This Inverter operation is based upon position and negative of sinusoldal PWM signal by carrier triangular wave and compared sine one. Besides, the Inverter operation system required digital signal for microprocessor, sampling method of Inverter driver signals study for get rid of generated signal is error. In the paper, the method of 3 level PWM signal for CTI was studied. This method of signals depend upon caculated switching position of natural sampling with $10^{-6}$ modulation error for time flowchart programs.

  • A capacitor-charging power supply using high frequency inverter technology is strongly recommended for the charging section of the pulsed power supplies. A high frequency inverter swiching makes the overall system size small. The command-charging feature can guarantee the higher reliability of switching function. The protection circuit can be easily included in the system and the good regulation of charging voltage can be acieved by the feedback system. Several modules can be stacked to supply required output power and a failed module can be easily replaced. A 50-kV, 35-kW capacitor charging power supply is developed. In this paper the detailed design and test results of a prototype unit are presented.

  • A half bridge time sharing type high frequency resonant inverter to give VVVF function in the inverter used as power source of induction heating at high frequency is presented in this paper, this paper also realize the output control of independence irrespective of the switching frequency using Phase-Shift. The analysis of the proposed circuit is generally described by using the normalized parameters. Also, the principle of basic operation and the its characteristics are estimated by the parameters, such as switching frequency, the variation of phase angle(${\varphi}$) of Phase-Shift. It is certain that the proposed circuit will be used and expanded in the high frequency power supplies like induction heating systems.

  • The LC filter design procedure of the inverter output filter is described. The transfer function of the filter output voltage to the load current is described with the capacitor value and the system time constant considering the system controller. By using the closed form of the relation between the filter capacitor value and the system time constant, the capacitor value can be calculated with the given system time constant and vice versa. It is more practical for the implementation of power and control circuit of inverter. And as the effect of the load current to the voltage distortion can be calculated from the closed form, it is possible to analyze the system how much the voltage waveform is distorted in case of the nonlinear load. All the proposed design procedure is verified with the simulation and experimental results.

  • This paper proposes the control method of MPPT(maximum power point tracking) for the wind energy generation system using the duty ratio control of boost type DC-DC converter. For a lower cost and a higher reliability, the wind and the generator velocity sensors are removed. MPPT control is implemented by changing the duty ratio of the boost converter. Chain rule is applied by using each function. The grid side inverter is controlled to regulate unity power factor. The proposed control method was analyzed mathematically and verified by the computer simulation using PSIM.

Converter Utilization Ratio Enhancement in the THD Optimization of Cascaded H-Bridge 7-level Inverters

  • In this paper, a new technique for harmonic optimization in cascaded H-bridge 7-level inverters is proposed. The suggested strategy is based on minimizing an objective function which simultaneously optimizes the converter utilization and Total Harmonic Distortion (THD). The Switch Utilization Ratio (SUR) is formulized for both the phase and line-line voltages of a 7-level inverter and is considered in the final objective functions. Based upon the SUR formula, utilization ratio enhancement will reduce the value of feeding DC links, which improves the efficiency and lifetime of the circuit components due to lower voltage stresses and losses. In order to achieve more effective solution in different modulation indices, it is assumed that the DC sources can be altered. Experimental validation is presented based on a three-phase 7-level inverter prototype.
