Numerical Simulation of a System Heat Pump Adopting an Integral Optimum Regulating Controller (적분형 최적 레귤레이터 적용 시스템 히트펌프 제어 시뮬레이션 연구)

  • Small and medium-size buildings employ a multi-distributed individual air-conditioning system that utilizes package air conditioners instead of centralized cooling systems, which can allow easier building management and maintenance, along with a diversification of facility use. Inverter driven system heat pumps have been developed to achieve not only an easy distribution control, allowing free combination of indoor units with different models and different capacities, but also wide applications to intelligent air conditioning. However, the control algorithms of the system heat pump are limited in the open literature, due to complicated operating conditions. In this paper, an inverter-driven system heat pump having two indoor units with electronic expansion valves (EEV) was simulated in the cooling mode. An integral optimum regulating controller employing the state space control method was also simulated, and applied to the system-heat pump system, to obtain efficient control of the MIMO (multi input multi output) system. The simulation model for the controller yielded satisfactory prediction results. The new control model can be successfully utilized as a basic tool in controller design.

  • A precision of temperature control in the manufacturing process would be an important factor and become the main key to control production quality. Mostly manufacture machinery used oil as a coolant in their system so an accurate oil temperature control system become an absolute need in industrial field. This paper presents a experiment research to control the oil temperature constant at target point, in this experiment is $35^{\circ}C$ by using an inverter attached in compressor to varying the compressor speed. This control has been completed and tested through an experiment with different heat load of 4kW, 6kW, 7kW, 8kW and 10kW given under temperature constant room conditioned as $25^{\circ}C$. The results had shown the temperature deviation in the refrigerator has around $0.2^{\circ}C$ and the COP is 2.5 gained at 8kW and 10kW.

  • This paper presents a grid current control algorithm for a grid connected inverter (GCI) system in a stationary reference frame. When a Proportional Integral (PI) controller at a stationary reference frame is used in a GCI system, steady state error and phase lags are presented because AC signals are controlled at a stationary reference frame. In this paper, a feedforward controller is applied to the PI controller to compensate the steady state error and phase lags by improving command tracking performance. In addition, disturbance rejection control is applied to the PI controller to protect the GCI system by eliminating disturbance, grid voltage in a GCI system, when a grid fault such as line-to-line fault, happens. The proposed GCI current control algorithm is analyzed in a frequency domain and a simulation model of the proposed GCI current control system is developed for verification of the performance.

  • In this paper, a fuzzy logic controller is designed for speed control of a hydraulic inverter elevator. Mathematical modeling of an elevator actuated with hydraulic system is presented and the friction characteristics of a cylinder is examined, which may cause the abrupt increase of the acceleration in the zero-crossing speed region. Simulation results show that the proposed fuzzy logic speed controller yields a better control performance than conventional PID controller.

  • Today, the ceramic transformer becomes widely used for the TFT LCD backlight inverter system thanks to its high efficiency and small size. In this paper, a high efficient inverter system for cold cathode flourescent lamp (CCFL) including PLL controller for tuning the PWM frequency to the frequency that the efficiency of the inverter system becomes maximum is proposed. The control IC implementing this feature will be released by Interpion Co. Ltd. in May 2002.

  • PWM(Pluse Width Modulation) induction motor drives are being used in greater numvers through a wide variety of industrial and commercial applications. In this paper, a new speed control algorithm (hybrid algorithm) for induction motor drives that uses regular sampled PWM and harmonic elimination PWM is presented. The hybrid algorithm in implemeted on the computer to obtain solutions from the calculation equations of the width of the pulses and the firing angles for the selected harmonic elimination. this paper describes the time delay effects and the suitable compensating methods moreover, optical transmission system for driving signals is proposed and is compared with general trnasmission system. The hybrid inverter was tested with induction motor, and these test results are shown that this hybrid inverter closely approximates and exhibits many of the desirable performance characteristic distortions and eliminated the objectionable harmonics. Finally, detailed experimental investigation of the proposed hybrid scheme in presented.

  • This paper describes a load simulator with power-recovery capability, which is based on the voltage source converter-inverter set. The load simulator described in this paper can save the electric energy that should be consumed to test the operation and performance of the distributed generation system and the power quality compensator. The load simulator consists of a converter-inverter set with a DSP controller for system control and PWM pulse generation. The converter operates as a universal load to model the linear load and the non-linear load, while the inverter feed the energy back to the power source with harmonic compensation. The load simulator can be widely used in the lab to test the performance of the distributed generation system and the power quality compensator.

  • This paper examines the application of high voltage static var compensator(SVC) with cascade multilevel inverter which employs H-bridge inverter(HBI). This method has the primary advantage that the number of voltage levels can be increased for a given number of semiconductor devices when compared to the conventional control methods. The SVC system is modeled using the d-q transform which calculates the instantaneous reactive power. This model is used to design a controller and analyze the SVC system. From the mathematical model of the system, the design procedures of the circuit parameters L and C are presented in this thesis. To meet the specific total harmonic distortion(THD) and ripple factor of the capacitor voltage, the circuit parameters L and C are designed. Simulated and experimental results are also presented and discussed to validate the proposed schemes.

  • In this study, we developed the inverter system to control Induction motor for the vertically circulation parking facility. In the case of calling a pallet, a car parking space, we basically stoned conventional system's problems, pallet is uncontrollable to the fixed position and braking system was worn by forcer braking with remaining speed. Also, by appling to converter controller, added to power regenerative control function, we confirmed the reduce of power supply capacity and the energy saving effect according to increasing operation frequency. The validity of this system is verified by 55kw induction motor driving system. Via this study, the proposed system shows the efficient use of parking facility and good operation characteristics by implementing position and speed control effectively on condition of load and shows energy saying effect by power factor control for the vertically circulation parking facility operation.
