Objective : This study aimed to investigate the importance, performance, and educational needs of sensory integration intervention competency for newly employed therapists who use sensory integration intervention. Methods : The general characteristics, importance, performance, and educational needs of sensory integration intervention competency were investigated for therapists with less than three years of experience in sensory integration intervention. Educational needs and rankings were identified through Borich needs analysis. Results : The competency cluster that newly employed therapists perceived as the most important but with the lowest performance level was "Expertise," and the demand of the "Expertise" competency cluster was also the highest in the analysis of educational needs. The difference in importance and performance in all sub-competencies was statistically significant. In the Borich needs analysis, the rank of educational needs was derived as follows: "Evaluation skill" (5.56), "Analysis skill" (5.50), and "Overall knowledge of occupational therapy" (5.47). Conclusion : It was found that the newly employed therapist using sensory integration intervention recognized professional competency as the most important, while also recognizing that their professional competency was low. Accordingly, education to enhance professional competency was most needed. This study presented basic data for the direction of education to strengthen competency in consideration of the educational needs of newly employed therapists.

Background: The aim of this study was to increase knowledge regarding the dangers associated with tobacco use, and decrease secondhand smoke exposure and tobacco use behaviors with an antitobacco messaging campaign among rural, medically underserved, blue-collar workers. Methods: A quasiexperimental study was conducted with employees at two worksites. One worksite received the intervention, which consisted of nine different antitobacco messages. Baseline and follow-up surveys were conducted at each worksite to assess change in knowledge and behavior; the data were compared across the two worksites. Results: Two hundred twenty-two and 243 participants completed baseline and follow-up surveys at the intervention and comparison sites, respectively. A statistically significant difference was seen over time between the worksites on knowledge of the dangers of tobacco (p < 0.0001); the mean knowledge score increased at the intervention site, but remained unchanged at the comparison site. In general, non-smokers at both worksites appeared to try to decrease exposure to secondhand smoke over the follow-up period. Repeated measures analysis indicated that there were no differences in motivation to quit (p = 0.81), interest in quitting (p = 0.40), thinking about quitting (p = 0.53), or several tobacco-use behaviors over time among smokers at the intervention and comparison worksites. There were slight increases over time in the proportion of smokers who do not allow smoking in their homes/vehicles at the intervention worksite, although not statistically significant. Conclusion: Participants at the intervention worksite increased their knowledge regarding the dangers of tobacco use and secondhand smoke exposure. Among current tobacco users, the intervention appeared to increase family rules regarding secondhand smoke exposure in their homes and vehicles.

Purpose : The purpose of this study is to analyze the corrective effect of the general coordinative manipulation (GCM) joint intervention model on distort leg with imbalance of the lower extremity joints, pelvic and shoulder girdles, and lumbar spine. Methods : The study used a comparative analysis of the size of the distort leg and the imbalance of the lower extremity joints, pelvic and shoulder girdles, and lumbar spine before and after the application of the GCM joint intervention model. A total of 31 subjects from movement center G and the department of physical therapy at university M were selected as research subjects, and they were divided into two groups. The GCM joint intervention model was applied to 18 subjects in the bow knee group and 13 subjects in the knock knee group. The two groups received daily intervention three times a week for four weeks. The corrective effect of the GCM joint intervention model for each type of distort leg was compared and analyzed. Results : The effects of the GCM joint intervention model in correcting bow knee and knock knee with knee deformation and imbalance of the lower extremity joints, pelvic and shoulder girdles, and lumbar spine were significant in most domains (p<.05). The correlation between the bow knee and knock knee groups showed significance in most domains (p<.05). Conclusion : The GCM joint intervention model showed significant corrective effect in the bow knee and knock knee groups in terms of knee deformation, lower extremity joints, pelvic and shoulder girdles, and lumbar spine (p<.05).
Purpose: This study was intended to integrate the evidence of home care service intervention for mothers and children in vulnerable groups through an integrative literature review. Methods: We searched the MEDLINE (PubMED), EMBASE, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, CINAHL, DBpia databases. The quality of the articles was assessed by one doctoral researcher and verified by one professor of community health nursing who had participated in the systematic review of literature. A framework was developed to identify the intervention patterns in the selected papers and categorize various elements. The extracted intervention elements were grouped into potential themes, which were verified by assessors on whether they clearly reflected the interventions in the papers. Results: Among 878 searched papers, we selected 16 papers after excluding literature that does not satisfy the selection criteria and quality evaluation. The intervention elements of 16 selected papers were categorized into six themes. The extracted intervention elements were divided into the themes of Patient-specific/Situation-specific care planning and intervention, Emphasis on self care competency, Intense home visit by developmental milestone, Reinforcing and modeling mother-child attachment, Communication and interaction across the intervention, Linkage with community resource and multidisciplinary approach. Conclusion: As a result of the analysis of proper interventions of home care services for mothers and children in vulnerable groups, it was found that it is necessary to consider indispensable intervention elements that can standardize the quality of home care services, and conduct studies on developing intervention programs based on the elements.
Objectives The purpose of this study was to evaluate intervention studies on Sasang Constitutional diet (SCD) through the checks of Participant, Intervention, Comparison, and Outcome (PICO) Methods Randomized controlled trial (RCT) and non-randomized study for intervention (NRSI) about SCD were searched in 4 Korean core databases and other sources, and then PICO was checked. Results 1. Total 10 studies were conducted with 1 RCT and 9 NRSIs. 2. Participants were people with no specific disease, or patients with essential hypertension, hyperlipidemia, obesity, or stroke with diabetes or hyperlipidemia. Most studies were conducted on groups of various Sasang Constitutional types except Taeyangin. 3. Two studies provided participants with meals and exercise. Three studies, instead of providing meals directly, taught participants how to eat SCD on their own. 4. NRSIs have tested the effectiveness of various outcome measures without the presentation of primary outcome, and then concluded that all outcomes were ineffective or some are effective. 5. There was no mention of adverse events. In most studies, a single doctor of Korean medicine diagnosed Sasang Constitution the QSCC II questionnaire. The intervention period ranged from three weeks to three months, and recent studies have conducted interventions for 12 weeks. Conclusions Intervention studies about SCD which were conducted so far have shown problems on the study design of PICO items. The study design and implementation that carefully consider how to maintain similarity between groups, minimize the risk of bias, set primary outcome measure, and control the diet are required.

This study is a literature analysis study that analyzed program intervention research papers to understand the characteristics of lifestyle intervention programs to prevent cardiovascular disease. The final 18 papers were selected by applying search terms such as "cardio-cerebrovascular disease" and "intervention" through electronic databases such as Pubmed. As for the criteria for selecting program participants in the study, physiological criteria were mainly used, and there were many programs that mediated physical activity and eating habits. Education was the most widely used intervention type, and there were many studies that combined and applied several interventions. During the intervention period, long-term interventions averaged more than 22 weeks, and biophysical indicators were most frequently used as effect indicators for measuring the intervention effect. Through this study, it is suggested that environmental and social support is needed to develop intervention programs considering the interrelationship of various lifestyle habits and maintain healthy lifestyle habits.
The purpose of this study was to systematic review about randomized controlled trials the characteristics and effect of non-pharmacological intervention on depressive symptom in elderly with mild cognitive impairment. We searched studies published from January 2011 to July 2021 in 3 databases. A total 1,455 studies were found and included 11 studies in final analysis. Methodological quality was assessment with the Cochrane's RoB(risk of bias) tool. Geriatric Depression Scale(GDS) was the most used as the assessment tool for identifying the depressive symptom. Intervention were yoga, psychosocial intervention, cognitive training, health education, multi-component intervention, game training, aerobic/pulmonary physiotherapy, art therapy, music reminiscence activity, memory specificity training, cognitive stimulation therapy and SWTW(sleep well, think well) program. Among the intervention programs, yoga, multi-component intervention and game training were effective in improving depressive symptom. This study provided a clinical evidence for planning and implementing intervention on depressive symptom in elderly with mild cognitive impairment.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analysis the effects of a forgiveness nursing intervention program on hope and quality of life in woman with cancer. Methods: The used design was a nonequivalent control group design with pretest and post-test. Thirty patients diagnosed with uterine cervical cancer, breast cancer, ovarian cancer were recruited from a University Hospital in Busan, Korea. An experimental group (n=15) was given the forgiveness nursing intervention program, and a control group (n=15) was done a common nursing intervention. The period of data collection was from June 10 to September 10, 2004. The obtained data were analyzed using ${\chi}^2-test$, Fisher's exact test, t-test, and ANCOVA. Results: The first hypothesis, "The experimental group would have higher hope state than control group" was supported(F =16.967, p = .000). The second hypothesis, "The experimental group would have higher quality of life state than control group" was supported (F =4.850, p =.036). Conclusions: The findings showed that the forgiveness nursing intervention program was effective to increase hope and quality of life in women with cancer. Therefore, this program may be used for a nursing practice for cancer patients who are suffering from emotional distress.
Purpose: This study was to estimate the effectiveness of an intervention program using the trans-theoretical model on the stages of change, the process of change, decisional balance, self-efficacy, the levels of medication adherence, and blood pressure difference. Methods: A similar experiment was conducted using a nonequivalent control group pre- and post-test design. The study subjects were 108 hypertensive patients. The program was administered to the experimental group while educational materials were given to the control group. Descriptive analysis, 2-test, t-test, and repeated measures ANOVA were used with SPSS 17.0 to analyze collected data. Results: After treatment with this program, the experimental group showed stage of change ($x^2=52.917$, p<.001), cognitive (F=13,528, p<.001), behavioral process of change (F=10.808, p<.001), benefits (F=5.569, p=.012), loss of medication adherence (F=15.661, p<.001), self-efficacy (F=5.407, p=.011), levels of medication adherence (F=51.442, p<.001). Conclusion: There was a significant improvement in the experimental group who participated in the TTM medication adherence intervention program. Given that this intervention program motivated and stimulated hypertensive patients to adhere to the prescribed medications, the TTM medication adherence intervention program is expected to be an effective and practical intervention method for health improvement.
