소비자상담 현장실습에 대한 실습생의 평가 및 실습만족도 (Interns′ Evaluation and Satisfaction with their Consumer Counseling Internship Programs)

  • This study investigated the internship experiences of female college students who have participated in consumer counseling programs. The factors that determine interns' counseling time and interns' level of satisfaction with the programs were examined. Major results of this study are summarized in the following. First, interns' time spent on counseling consumers was the longest for the program at the Korean Consumer Protection Board, followed by the programs at consumer agencies and firms. The time spent on counseling by interns was shorter when there was l) a larger number of employees; 2) a smaller proportion of female employees: 3) a larger number of counseling rooms and a higher the frequency of counseling at the agency; and 4) a lower evaluation on the work performance of the counseling agency and the employees. Second, the level of utilization of interns was the highest in consumer agencies, followed by the Korean Consumer Protection Board. When all employees were female and the evaluated level of work performance of the counseling agency and employees was high, the level of intern utilization was also high. Third, the evaluated level of work performance was the highest at the Korean Consumer Protection Board, and interns' satisfaction with the internship program was the highest with the consumer agencies and the Korean Consumer Protection Board. Fourth, interns were highly satisfied with the program when the level of intern utilization was high and the agency's operation was evaluated as good.

전공의들의 장시간 근무와 우울증상의 연관성에 관한 연구 (Association between Long Working Hours and Depressive Symptoms among Interns and Residents in South Korea-2014 Korea Interns & Residents Survey)

  • Objectives: This study sought to examine the association between long working hours and depressive symptoms among interns and residents in South Korea. Methods: We analyzed a cross-sectional survey of 1,661 interns and residents from the 2014 Korean Interns & Residents Survey. Total working hours during the preceding week was assessed and classified into five categories(i.e. less than 60 hours, 60-79 hours, 80-99 hours, 100-119 hours, and 120-168 hours). Depressive symptoms during the previous week were measured by using ten items from the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale questionnaire. Multivariate negative binomial regression was applied to examine the association between long working hours and depressive symptoms after adjusting for potential confounders, including medical specialty and training year. All analyses were performed using STATA/SE version 13.0. Results: 86%(N=1,429) of interns and residents worked 60 hours or more per week. Compared to the "less than 60 hours" group, long working hours for interns and residents were significantly associated with depressive symptoms: "60-79 hours"(PR: 1.56, 95% CI: 1.05, 2.32), "80-99 hours"(PR: 2.27, 95% CI: 1.54, 3.33), "100-119 hours"(PR: 2.62, 95% CI: 1.76, 3.89), and "120-168 hours"(PR: 3.28, 95% CI: 2.21, 4.86). Conclusions: This study found that long working hours were prevalent among interns and residents in South Korea, and it was associated with depressive symptoms.

Virtual Internship Experiences of Library and Information Science Students During the Pandemic

  • This study aimed to discover the notable experiences of Library and Information Science students in a virtual internship program. It employed qualitative descriptive research design by thematically analyzing the monthly internship journal of the interns. Using Colaizzi's method to identify themes from their experiences, the study revealed that interns expected to gain knowledge and skills on operations, services, and new information communication technologies in libraries. Orientation was found helpful in identifying the things interns needed to prepare. The interns faced issues from procrastination and technical difficulties, which they coped with employing avoidance strategies. Overall, the internship was viewed as an opportunity to learn and navigate the online digital system of the library despite the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic. They realized their capacity and reflected on which competencies need improvement. In conclusion, students still learned the necessary knowledge and skills of a librarian; experienced the challenges faced in an actual library and were provided with various opportunities and realizations regarding the practice of librarianship. This study proposed a three-stage framework that outlines the involvement of the supervising instructors, librarians, and interns in the internship program from the preparation to the process and post-assessment.

전공의들의 전문직인식이 직업만족도에 미치는 영향 (Interns' and Residents' Professional Job Perception and Its Effect to Their Job Satisfaction)

  • In ordo to investigate the professional job perception and job satisfaction of interns and residents and its related factors, the author conducted survey using self administered questionnaire for 2 months(August and September, 1996). The study subjects were 562 interns and residents who worked at one university hospital(tertiary hospital) and two general hospitals(secondary hospital) in Taegu, Korea. Among them, 297 (52.8%) responded completely. The results were as follows ; Respondents thought that people component was most important, science and status components were next among professional value scales which meant the desirable attitudes required to conduct professional works. But, the score of professional value scales was generally high and not affected by other variables in multiple linear regression analysis. They seemed to have very normative and ideal perceptions about professional values. The score of professionalism scales, which were attitudinal and behavioral traits about professional job, of high grade residents was significantly higher than that of interns and lower grade residents. The score of reference to professional organization and autonomy factor were increasing significantly as the grade increased. Working conditions and perception for socioeconomic status of doctors influenced the score of professionalism scale significantly. It seemed that professional socialization was made during the training periods of interns and residents. Most of respondents answered that current socioeconomic status of doctors were middle and high strata but they responded that the socioeconomic status of doctors would fall in the future. They seemed to have a pessimistic thought about doctor's status. Generally the respondents thought that they were satisfied with doctor job and fit to the job, but 51.9% answered that if possible they would get other jobs. It seemed to reflect their critical thinking on doctors' status. Perceptions about socioeconomic status of doctors, professional value and professionalism influenced job satisfaction significantly. The interns and residents had high sense of calling to doctors and thought that doctors were socially important job. Generally they were satisfied with their job. Interns and residents had normative thoughts about the trait which compentent doctors must have. During the training period, they seemed to have attitude and perception as a professional and to make professional socializations.

음악치료 인턴들의 치료적 노래만들기 경험에 대한 주제분석: 포커스 그룹을 중심으로 (Thematic Analysis of the Therapeutic Song Writing Experience of Music Therapy Interns: A Focus Group)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 음악치료 인턴들의 치료적 노래만들기 경험을 심층 탐구하는 것이다. 이를 위해 음악치료 인턴 다섯 명을 대상으로 경험적 음악치료 집단의 일환으로 치료적 노래만들기 워크샵을 240분씩 총 2회 진행한 후, 포커스 그룹 인터뷰를 실시하고 그들의 경험에 대한 자료를 수집하였다. 본 자료를 Braun & Clarke(2006)의 방법으로 주제분석하여, 총 6개의 주제와 18개의 하위 주제를 도출하였다. 6개의 주제는 '치료적 노래만들기에 대한 선입견', '의미있는 작사 과정', '작곡에서의 도전적 경험', '치료적 노래만들기 기법의 구조성 경험', '음악을 통한 자기인식의 발전', '집단작업을 통한 관계적 경험'으로 나타났다. 음악치료 인턴들은 치료적 노래만들기의 단계적 구조를 통해 집단의 다양한 의견을 조율하고 소통하면서 자신들의 이야기를 하나의 노래로 완성하였다. 이를 통해 자신들의 약점이라 느꼈던 작곡에 대한 부담감을 극복하고, 스스로의 욕구와 필요성을 인식하며 개인적 성장을 경험할 수 있었다. 결과적으로, 본 연구에 참여한 음악치료 인턴은 치료적 노래만들기 과정에 참여하면서 인턴훈련 과정에서 직면하는 도전을 규명할 수 있었고 더 나아가 개인적 성장과 전문가로서의 성장을 도모할 수 있었다는 점에서 본 연구의 의의가 있다.

Overcoming Barriers to Research Competency: a nationwide mixed-method study on residency training in the field of Korean medicine

  • Objectives: This study aimed to analyze the educational needs of interns and residents in Korean medicine as the first step in developing an education program to improve their research competencies. Methods: A mixed-method design, incorporating both quantitative and qualitative data collection methods, was used to investigate the educational needs for research competencies among interns and residents working in Korean medicine hospitals nationwide. Data were collected through online surveys and online focus group discussions (FGDs), and processed using descriptive statistical analysis and thematic analysis. The study results were derived by integrating survey data and FGD outcomes. Results: In total, 209 interns and residents participated in the survey, and 11 individuals participated in two rounds of FGDs. The majority of participants felt a lack of systematic education in research and academic writing in postgraduate medical education and highlighted the need for nationally accessible education due to significant disparities in the educational environment across hospitals and specialties. The primary barrier to learning research and academic writing identified by learners was the lack of knowledge, leading to time constraints. Improving learners' research competencies, relationship building, autonomy, and motivation through a support system was deemed crucial. The study also identified diverse learner types and preferred educational topics, indicating a demand for learner-centered education and coaching. Conclusion: This study provides foundational data for designing and developing a program on education on research competencies for interns and residents in Korean medicine and suggests the need for initiatives to strengthen these competencies.

플랜트 해외인턴 지원사업의 정량적 성과분석 (A Quantitative Performance Analysis of Foreign Internship System for Plant Industry)

  • 본 연구는 우리나라 경제성장의 견인차 구실을 할 플랜트산업의 전문인력 양성을 위해 추진하고 있는 플랜트 해외인턴 자원사업 중 2010년도 사업에 대하여 그 성과를 정량적으로 분석하고, 사업에 대한 개선사항을 제안하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 2010년 12월 6일부터 12월 10일까지 본 사업에 참여하고 있는 기업과 참가자의 근무현장을 실사하였고, 현장실사내용을 평가분석하고, 2010년도 성과를 정량적으로 분석하여 평가하였다. 당초 400명 파견이 목표였으나, 402명을 해외현장으로 파견하였으며, 월별, 전공별, 지역별, 기업유형별 인턴사원의 파견 실적과 취업취약계층에 대한 지원 실적을 분석하였다. 본 사업의 성공적인 진행을 위해서는 채용연계를 전제로 하는 인턴과정으로의 확대, 대국민 홍보 추진의 필요성, 참여 대학과의 지속적인 협력관계 구축, 그리고 참여기업과 협회 그리고 수료자들 간의 네트워크 강화가 요구된다.

일부 급식 서비스 기업의 인턴 교육 프로그램에 관한 연구 (Study on the Dietetic Internship Program of Catering Company)

  • The purposes of this research were to examine the effect of the catering company's dietetic internship program through a self-evaluating ability test about management performance between pre and post internship programs and consequently to suggest improvement in the internship program. In this study, two types of questionnaires were conducted in July and October 2006, targeting 41 dietetic interns who trained in a 6 months internship program. Except the 4 dropped interns, data from 37 interns were collected and used for statistical analysis, using the SPSS Win 11.0 version. The results of this study were as follows: First of all, the analysis on the effect of the internship program according to classified management segments showed significant improvements in the following order: purchase management (p<0.001), computer program management (p<0.001), facilities management (p<0.001), accounting management (p<0.01), personnel management (p<0.01), retention management (p<0.01), sanitation management (p<0.01), service management (p<0.01) and foodservice management (p<0.01). However, there was no significantly improvement in management of clients. Secondly, the result of the analysis on the details of each management segment that were significant improvement and changing score was the top 5 duties were as follows: In the purchase management, the score of weekly and daily order management was increased 1.0 (p<0.001), the score of weekly inventory management was 0.81 (p<0.001). In the computation office management, expenses handling through a computer program was 0.65 (p<0.01). In the personnel management, the score of work schedule management increased 0.81 (p<0.001). In the accounting management, the score of monthly profit and loss account management was 0.65 (p<0.001). Furthermore, qualified educational programs connected with the internship program will have to be systematically developed and continually carried out in order to improve service and management abilities of branch managers.

임종돌봄에 대한 교육의 필요성: 2개 대학병원의 인턴을 대상으로 예비 분석 (The Necessity for End-of-Life Care Education: A Preliminary Analysis with Interns at Two University Hospitals)

  • 목적: 본 연구는 2개 대학병원의 인턴을 대상으로 임종돌봄에 대한 교육 현황을 파악하고자 하였다. 방법: 2개 대학병원의 64명의 인턴들에게 구조화된 설문지를 배포하여 임종돌봄 교과과정의 강의습득 경험과 임상견학 경험 여부를 확인하였다. 또한 임종돌봄 관련 교육이나 진료에 대한 태도를 평가할 수 있는 7개의 자가평가질문을 파악하였다. 결과: 임종돌봄 교과과정 강의 습득과 임상실습 견학 개수의 평균은 각각 5개(총 영역 개수: 9)와 2개(총 영역 개수: 7)였다. 가장 많이 교육받은 항목은 나쁜 소식 전하기(96.9%)였고 임상실습 동안 가장 많이 견학한 항목은 신체증상 조절(56.5%)였다. 그러나 사전연명의료의향서를 포함한 의사소통 영역에 대한 경험은 20% 미만이었다. 임종돌봄 단독 교과목 교육군은 그렇지 않은 군과 비교하여 임종돌봄 교과과정에 대한 만족도, 관심도, 준비됨의 7가지 항목에서 모두 유의하게 긍정적인 답변을 하였다. 결론: 본 연구는 임종돌봄이 필요한 환자를 진료해야 하는 인턴들이 임종돌봄에 대한 교과과정 습득과 임상경험이 매우 부족함을 관찰하였다. 추후 국내 임종돌봄 교육에 대한 의과대학교육의 전체적인 상황을 파악하여 관련된 적절한 지식과 기술을 연마하는 교육체계를 세울 필요가 있다.

코로나바이러스감염증-19 사태에 따른 전공의 및 수련의의 스트레스 인지도가 불안 및 우울에 미치는 영향과 회복탄력성의 매개효과 (The Effect of Stress on Anxiety and Depressed Mood and the Mediating Effect of Resilience in Medical Residents and Interns During Coronavirus Disease-19 Event)

  • 연구목적 본 연구는 코로나바이러스감염증-19 대유행 중 전공의 및 수련의의 스트레스와 불안 및 우울 간 상관관계를 파악하고 회복탄력성의 매개효과를 평가하고자 한다. 방 법 코로나바이러스감염증-19 대유행 기간 중 일개 대학병원에서 근무한 전공의 및 수련의를 대상으로 자가보고식 설문 조사를 통해 스트레스 인지도, 불안 및 우울, 회복탄력성 정도를 평가하였다. 이후 각 변인 간 상관관계를 평가하고 회복탄력성의 매개효과 검증절차를 시행하였다. 결 과 총 74명의 참여자에게서 스트레스 평균 18.79점, 불안 총점 평균 6.24점, 우울 총점 평균 7.81점으로 나타났고, 불안과 우울의 고위험군은 각각 28명(37.8%), 41명(55.4%)로 나타났다. 스트레스 총점이 높을수록 불안과 우울의 총점이 높게 나타났으며, 회복탄력성 총점이 높을수록 스트레스 총점, 불안 및 우울 총점 모두 낮게 나타났다. 회복탄력성의 매개효과는 스트레스와 우울 총점 간 상관관계에서만 통계적으로 유의했다. 결 론 코로나 바이러스 감염증-19 유행 기간 중 전공의 및 수련의에게서 높은 수준의 스트레스를 보였고, 이들 중 상당수가 불안 및 우울장애의 고위험군으로 확인되었다. 스트레스는 우울 및 불안을 증가시키며 이중 우울은 회복탄력성에 의해 완화될 수 있음을 보였다.
