  • More and more residential and mobile users are requiring access to the Internet. This paper presents an architecture of the network solution for cost-effective Internet/intranet access between users and Network Service Providers(NSPs). It also presents a functional architecture of Internet access router in the integrated access node system. The proposed Internet access router provides the functionality that users select any of a number of NSPs and mutiple user PPP calls are multiplexed over each secure tunnel between the Internet access router and NSP.

The study shows that all the variables suggested here have an influence on the purchase intent of Internet shopping-mall users. That is, this study cannot analyze how the purchase intent of the customers with regard to the features of Internet shopping malls has changed. Therefore it is necessary to conduct procedural researches taking longitudinal studies into consideration.

  • Short videos are becoming more popular in mobile Internet age. Not only people's media consumption patterns have been changed by the rise of this new media form, but also it has posed challenges to public psychological well-being. For many netizens, their entertainment needs have been met by watching short videos. However, many side effects, such as addiction and anxiety, reduce users' subjective well-being instead of satisfying the entertainment motivation after watching short videos. Therefore, it has become a significant research problem in short videos to figure out how to get audiences to watch short videos on a regular basis while avoiding side effects like anxiety and addiction and improving audiences' subjective well-being. Based on the theory of Internet addiction, this study analyzed short video users using the 2×2×2 research method and explored the relationship between the length of use, addiction, anxiety, and subjective well-being of short video users. The results showed that short video users with different usage lengths showed significant differences in addiction, anxiety, subjective well-being, and online social support; innovative different short video users showed significant differences in addiction and anxiety, as well as a triadic relational interaction of short video users' anxiety under the interaction with self-efficacy and online social support. This study contributes to the advancement of internet addiction theory research and application, assisting short video users in avoiding addiction and anxiety, and improving the subjective well-being of short video users, thereby promoting the growth of the short video industry.

  • Although population of the elderly is increasing rapidly, the older adults are the least users of the Internet in Korea. Prior research suggests that older adults are physically and psychologically disadvantaged when using the Internet. With the existence of the digital divide over different age groups, the objectives of this study were to identify the current status of Internet usage of Korean adults and to suggest some alternatives for solving digital divide on Internet usage. A total of 654 Korean adults, including the elderly, participated in both on-line and off-line (on-site interview) surveys using structured questionnaires. The results of statistical analyses indicated that the gap between the percentages of Internet users in younger and older groups was significantly wide, though many older adults had strong interests of Internet. To reduce this gap on digital divide, with an appropriate help from family and government, several characteristics of the elderly should be considered in designing some age-related web sites. Some effective alternatives suggested in this study may be used as basic data for universal design of Internet-oriented software.

  • The Internet is becoming a basic need for many individuals globally in this digital age. The youths became more active online than before, with the majority relying on different platforms to communicate and interact with peers. Saudi Arabia is one of the nations where internet usage is high, with an increasing number of active internet users. The youth in Saudi Arabia are engaged in various online platforms. However, they lack adequate knowledge about cybersecurity and the dangers of internet usage, which exposes them to the risk of falling victims to cybercriminals. The most common dangers of internet usage include viruses, malware, phishing, and hacking, compromising users' sensitive information. Increased awareness of these potential threats helps protect Internet users and secure their data. The understanding of the dangers of Internet usage among youths varies across countries. In this regard, our study explores the risks of internet usage among youth in Saudi Arabia compared to the United States, South Africa, and New Zealand.

  • This paper examines Internet banking attitudes associated with demographics and motivations for Internet banking subscribers to access their online banking sites. To find out the relationships among demographics, motivation, and attitude, I conducted ANOVA and regression analysis using survey data. The results of the paper found that age group and experience were significant demographic variable impacting motivation of economic benefits and users with much experience. Male users had stronger motivation of entertainment and getting better information than female users. Users with longer experience and frequent visitors had positive attitude on financial products. All motivation factors had influences on attitudes on both of financial products and Internet banking. This study suggests the features of Internet banking attitudes and motivations by demographics, from which we can figure out how to motivate Internet banking users for them not only to actively access their online banks rather than visit banks in person but also to have positive attitudes on their banks and Internet banking.
