  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the education using short messaging service(SMS) on fasting blood sugar(FBS) and diabetes adherence. Method : Forty-five diabetic patients being assessed pre and post intervention was used to assess the effectiveness of the education. Participants were requested to input the FBS and 2 hours post-prandial blood sugar everyday in http://www.biodang.com by cellular phone or wire Internet. The goal of the education was to lower FBS and keep diabetes adherence. The education was applied to the for 12 weeks. The education consisted of continuous education and reinforcement of diet, exercise, medication adjustment, as well as frequent self-monitoring of blood glucose levels. The education performed weekly. All medication adjustments were communicated to the participants' doctor. FBS and diabetes adherence were measured before and after the education. Results : The education using SMS of cellular phone had decrease FBS and increase oral medication taking, exercise, foot care, and hypoglycemia preparation adherence.

  • Electronic commerce that use Mobile Phone according as the radio Internet develops rapidly and performance of Mobile Phone develops is activated. It is said that electronic commerce that use these Mobile Phone is M-Commerce. Also, the most important controversial point is data security or an user certification technology at these electronic commerce, there are research reactor WPKI and WTLS about this technology. However, when transmit message again after sign electronic documents in Mobile Phone, if do not encrypt, danger exists to be exposed to outside. Therefore, in this paper, designed system to encipher document that handle and handles user certification applying XML electronic sign technique in Mobile environment. Prevent of XML electronic sign in Mobile environment through this paper, and can stave off danger from outside by enciphering electronic sign document.

  • This article is to investigate the possibility that project-based classes introducing mobile phones can replace the monotony of traditional classes led by teachers as well as they can encourage students to take active part in the classes to some extent. The students in groups choose a genre for their own video projects (e.g., movie, drama, news, documentary, and commercial) and produce the video contents using a mobile phone for presentation made at the end of a semester. In the sense that the students are allowed to do video-based mobile phone projects, they can work independently outside of class, where time and space are more flexible and students are free from the anxiety of speaking or acting in front of an audience. A mobile phone project consists of around five stages done both in and outside of the classroom. All of these stages can be graded independently, including genre selection, drafting of scripts, peer review and revision, rehearsals, and presentation of the video. Feedback is given to students. After the presentation, students filled out a survey questionnaire sheet devised to analyze students' responses toward preferences and level of difficulty of the project activity. Finally, proposals are made for introduction of a better mobile phone-based project classes.

  • A human resource/labor management is a management activity to achieve the goal of an employee. To do this, it is required to measure the time of diligence/indolence effectively. However, existing diligence/indolence systems have the problems which require high costs for building the systems and have many unnecessary functions for small business or self-employed business. In this paper, we design and implement the diligence/indolence system using a smart phone of an employee. To measure the data of the diligence/indolence, the implemented system exploits the MAC addresses of both a smart phone and a access point of WiFi.

  • This study focused on mobile trend in diffusion of smart phone. Presently, it has been evolved from digital nomad to smart nomad. Smart nomad era is based on digital technology with mobility and being smart. Smart nomad that is made up high-end device and intellectual content has changed structure of industry and life style. Smart phone is a core key in smart nomad era. In 2010 smart phone has been distributed about 2.5 hundreds million which is 20% of whole mobile phone sales and the volume of smart phone sales will be getting bigger and bigger in near future. Although, there are various reasons for success of smart phone market, this research focused 4 reasons: first, development of mobile device, second, evolution of mobile content distribution, third, support of government system, fourth, success of Docomo i-mode and Apple i phone. Smart phone will grow up more rapidly. Smart phone eco-system will be more competitive in the world. In Korea, smart phone eco-system also will be very competitive. For success in the middle of this competitive environment, Korea should lead the competitive phase with development of ability of creation software and content, construction of various partnership and evolution of next generation technology and service.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the cell phone utilization and depression among the Korean elderly living alone using '2014 Korean National Survey on Older Adults. A total of 2,493 survey data of the elders living alone 65 years or more was included in the analysis. The degree of the cell phone utilization were categorized into (1) No cell phone, (2) Only phone calls, (3) Phone calls and text messages, and (4) Searching news and information through the internet surfing. The results showed that 81.5% elderly living alone had a cell phone. The 'no cell phone' group was 19.5% while 'information search' group was 3.5% among the elderly living alone and has more probability of depression than 'information search' group (OR=0.064, 95% CI=0.018-0.227), which indicates that as elders living alone utilize their cell phone more, the probability of the depression decreased. This result implies that elders living alone who utilize their cell phone more are engaged in social interaction more and this can lead to decrease in depression.

  • In recent years, using a smart phone that can access the Internet becomes routine in society through development of information and communication technology. On land, as especially actual accidents and research results show risk that using the smart phone while driving at the same time, and there are traffic laws and regulations that restriction of using of smart phone. But the regulations on the use of smart phones at sea is incomplete state. On this paper. We invested present status of use and reality of smart phone at sea and analyzed the subjective risk for judging to apply to regulation. And we analyzed risk quantitatively by using the simulation experiment; it Suggested a direction of guideline for use of smart phone at sea.

  • Due to the dramatic development of the Internet, the ICT market has changed from a voice based services to data based services. Substitution and complementary dynamism has emerged from communication technology services such as the Internet, mobile phone, and telephone. This paper analyses diffusion patterns of communication technologies such as the Internet, cellular phones, and telephones in different country groups. We estimate modified logistic growth model using time series data for the years 1975-2002. As a result, it is possible to categorize country groups according to the patterns of diffusions. This research creates essential information to forecast demand for new services based on incumbent services as well as provide information on strategies for entering the network industry.

  • Internet telephony service is very cheap and very easy to introduce the value-added service than the POTS, but is difficult to the QoS of telephone service. The existing Internet typically offers 'best effort' services only, which do not make any commitment about delay, packet loss and jitter. This paper compensates the low quality of the speech for packet loss or delay using SOLA algorithm in Internet phone. SOLA algorithm is a popular technique for Time Scale Modification of speech and audio signal. In the proposed algorithm, the receiver expands the received packet under resonable threshold, and hence compensates the QoS of speech. From the simulation, this algorithm can conceals packet loss considerably, and is also improved the quality of the speech.
