Relationship among Self-Control, Physical Activity, Internet Addiction, Cyber Ethnics, and Cyber Delinquency (여성 청소년의 자기통제력, 운동참여수준, 인터넷 중독, 사이버윤리의식 및 사이버비행의 관계)

  • This study examined the relationship among self-control, physical activity, Internet addiction, cyber ethnics, and cyber delinquency. The data from a total of 388 adolescent girls was analyzed by structural equation modeling using the AMOS 20.0 statistics program. First, the level of physical activity affects Internet addiction mediated by self-control. Second, self-control affects Internet addiction and cyber ethnics directly and has an influence on the cyber delinquency mediated by Internet addiction. Third, Internet addiction has direct effects both cyber delinquency and cyber ethnics.

  • This paper proposes a new Internet based control concept & design method and implementation of LonWorks network system for remote intelligent control. The experimental network system using i.LON Web server is designed and fabricated. It is also verified that the developed control modules with LonTalk protocol have available, interoperable, and reliable performance characteristics from the experimental results. Especially, the results provide a available technical data for remote home, building & plant automation control.

  • This paper proposes a session control model for the P2P(Peer to Peer) IPTV(Internet Protocol Television) services and presents the IPTV session control procedures based on the proposed model. Since, while public IPTV traffic is usually processed via a separate network, P2P IPTV traffic is processed together with the conventional Internet access traffic, the P2P IPTV control mechanism needs to provide multi-stream processing for the constituent TPS(Triple Play Service) traffic and corresponding QoS(Quality of Service) control functions. Besides, P2P IPTV session control mechanism should provide appropriate multicast control functions in order to support effective transmission of video traffic generated by personal IPTV broadcasters. The P2P IPTV session control model proposed in this paper is designed to be based on the standard SIP(Session Initiation Protocol), IGMP(Internet Group Management Protocol), and COPS(Common Open Policy Service) protocol so that it can contribute to the easy and prompt deployment of inter-operable P2P IPTV platform.

A Study of Covert Narcissism in Adolescent Internet Addiction : Relationship to Anonymity, Presence, Interactivity, and Achievement Motivation (청소년 인터넷 중독에서의 내현적 자기애에 관한 연구 : 익명성, 실재감, 상호작용성, 성취 동기와의 연관)

  • Objectives : This study compared covert narcissistic propensity in adolescents with internet addiction tendency to normal adolescents. Further, we investigated the correlation between such propensities and anonymity in cyberspace, presence feeling and interactivity in internet gaming, and achievement motivation in adolescents with internet addiction tendencies. Methods : Male middle school students with internet addiction tendencies (Addiction Tendency Group, N=27) and normal students (Control Group, N=29) were recruited. The scale of internet use, Covert Narcissism Scale, scale of achievement motivation, scale of anonymity in cyberspace, scale of presence feeling in internet games, and the scale of interactivity in internet games were administered. A comparison of the average scores and correlation analyses were performed. Results : 1) Compared with Control Group, the Addiction Tendency Group showed significantly higher scores on all subscales of the Covert Narcissism Scale, and both the scale of presence feeling and that of interactivity in internet games. Further, the score on the scale of achievement motivation for the Addiction Tendency Group was significantly lower than that of the Control Group. 2) In the Addiction Tendency Group, the scores on several subscales of the Covert Narcissism Scale were significantly positively correlated with the scores on the scale of presence feeling in internet games, anonymity in cyberspace, and interactivity in internet games. However, in the Control Group, the scores of several subscales on the Covert Narcissism Scale were significantly negatively correlated with the score on the scale of achievement motivation, and was significantly positively correlated with the score on the scale of interactivity in internet games. There were no other significant correlations between the scores on the subscales of the Covert Narcissism Scale and the scores of either presence feeling in internet games or anonymity in cyberspace. Conclusion : These results suggested that adolescents with a tendency to be addicted to the internet exhibited higher covert narcissistic propensities than normal adolescents and that the covert narcissistic tendencies were related with presence feeling in cyber games as well as with anonymity in cyberspace.

  • This paper represents the mobile robot control system remote controlled by PDA(personal digital assistance). So far, owing to the development of internet technologies, lots of remote control methods through internet have been proposed. To control a mobile robot through internet and guide it under unknown environment, We propose a control method activated by PDA. In a proposed system, PDA acts as a user interface to communicate with notebook as a controller of the mobile robot system using TCP/IP protocol, and the notebook controls the mobile robot system. The information about the direction and velocity of the mobile robot feedbacks to the PDA and the PDA send new control method produced from the fuzzy inference engine.

  • In this paper, new structures of embedded internet remote control systems, which can control electo-mechanical systems, are developed. For this, remote interface system structure using embedded system are developed first, then the way of internet remote control and the PC program for the control are discussed. The developed syste in this paper can be applied to home automations such as to control entrance doors, lights, consumer electronics and other industrial applications. To show the example illustrations, in this paper, the deyeloped system has been applied to multiple motor control systems. The results show that the developed system can directly be applicable into the real industrial field.

  • At this study, we are developing a possible control system through remote monitoring for fire protection in various chemical factory facilities. It's possible to do real time confirmation of a normal operation presence of the various equipment installed in a chemical factory through the internet network at a fire fighting head office, an area fire department and a chemical factory situation room using this remote monitoring control system. When occurring, abnormal operation is the remote monitoring control system, which can check this immediately and notify the situation room administrator. After it was tested using developed remote monitoring control system, the remote monitoring for which the internet network was used confirmed possible.

  • Control Theory for continuous-time system has been well developed. Due to the development of computer technology, digital control scheme are employed in many areas. When delays are in control systems, it is hard to control the system efficiently. Delays by controller-to-actuator and sensor-to-controller deteriorate control performance and could possibly destabilize the overall system. In this paper, a new approximated discretization method and digital design for control systems with multiple state, input and output delays and a generalized bilinear transformation method with a tunable parameter are also provided, which can re-transform the integer time-delayed discrete-time model to its continuous-time model. Illustrative examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the developed method.

The Effects of Game Control Program on the mitigation of Internet Game Addiction and Self-Efficacy (게임욕구조절 프로그램이 인터넷게임 중독완화와 자기효능감에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a group training program designed to control the desire for internet games and to promote self-efficacy and alternative activities. The subjects participating in this study were 32 fifth graders, divided into the experimental group of 16 and the control group of 16, who were carefully selected from 175 children in the fifth grade in S elementary school in J city. All the subjects belong in the top 20% according to the internet game addiction level and spend more than two hours and thirty minutes a day playing computer game. And they participated in the game desire control program, which were consisted of total eight-session' treatment for six weeks. The results of the game addiction diagnosis and self-efficacy measurement were verified and analyzed by ANOVA to verify the effects of the program. As well as, data about average playing time spent on computer games and time the children spent on playing computer games alternative activities were analyzed and collected by the interview and other written materials such as letters from the parents to their children and writings of the children on their feelings about interret games. The results of this study were as follows: The internet game control program was effective in decreasing the degree of game addiction. The children participating in the internet game control program showed greater increase in self-efficacy than those of the control group. The children participating in the program showed a sharp decline in the time spent on playing computer games and greater increase in the time spent on alternative activities than those of the control group.

  • This study implemented a remote control system using PDA based on WINDOWS CE. NET. In existing remote control systems, the user generally controls remote objects and obtain data using a computer, which is a local system connected to the internet, and the remote objects are connected to server computers. In order to control remote objects, the user has to have a computer, a space to use the Internet, and wired internet. The system proposed in this study uses an embedded board as a server and PDA as a client. Thus, the user can control remote objects at any place as long as wireless internet is available. In addition, because an embedded board is used as a server, the system has the characteristics of high performance and low power consumption. The proposed system provides not only remote control environment using PDA but also conventional control environment using a computer as a client. In case PDA is not available, remote objects still can be controlled from any place as long as there are wired internet and a computer.
