The novel "The Grapes of Wrath" shows the painful reality of Americans during the Great Depression through the migration journey of the Tom Jod's family, who had no choice but to move from Oklahoma to California and their hardships in California. This presents empathy for their wrath and offers hope for a brotherly solution. This article presents institutional solutions against each novel situation from the perspective of the Constitution, labor law, and competition law. From a constitutional perspective, the poverty of Oklahoma's smallholders is not a result of choice, but is caused by the natural environment and capital concentration, so it is suggested that the government have to intervene to guarantee a minimum standard of living to realize equal rights. From a labor law perspective, worker supply projects are unconstitutional because they constitute intermediate exploitation of labor, and immigrants like the Joad family have the right to form labor unions. From a competition law perspective, it was shown that the large landowners' setting of fruit prices constitutes predatory pricing, and the farmers' attempts to pay similarly low wages constitute collusion. Through this, the attempt was made to recognize that the law is a means to resolve the public wrath that may currently exist, and to show that the story in the novel can bring empathy and understanding to minorities. It is hoped that reading novels can be a way to help interpret the law and sympathize with others as an indicator of a just society.

The development of scanning technology is accelerating for safer and more efficient automated inspection than human-based inspection. Research on automatically detecting facility damage from images collected using computer vision technology is also increasing. The pixel size, quality, and quantity of an image can affect the performance of deep learning or image processing for automatic damage detection. This study is a basic to acquire high-quality raw image data and camera performance of a mobile tunnel scanning system for automatic detection of damage based on deep learning, and proposes a method to quantitatively evaluate image quality. A test chart was attached to a panel device capable of simulating a moving speed of 40 km/h, and an indoor test was performed using the international standard ISO 12233 method. Existing image quality evaluation methods were applied to evaluate the quality of images obtained in indoor experiments. It was determined that the shutter speed of the camera is closely related to the motion blur that occurs in the image. Modulation transfer function (MTF), one of the image quality evaluation method, can objectively evaluate image quality and was judged to be consistent with visual observation.

The Korean Industrial Standard(KS) KS F 2527("Aggregates for Concrete") does not explicitly define criteria for clay mineral content in aggregates. This lack of clear quality standards and testing methodologies is further compounded by a scarcity of relevant research within both academic and industrial spheres. Consequently, the construction industry, encompassing both aggregate production and utilization, often overlooks the management of clay mineral content due to its perceived economic implications. This study addresses this gap by investigating the current state of regulations concerning clay mineral content in aggregates, exploring the causes of its occurrence, and evaluating its impact on concrete performance. The chemical composition of the clay minerals was determined to primarily consist of Al2O3, Fe2O3, and SiO2, which are commonly found in clay. X-ray diffraction(XRD) analysis revealed that the predominant clay minerals were montmorillonite and illite, both known for their high absorption capacity. An examination of domestic and international standards for clay mineral content in aggregates demonstrated that the density and absorption rate specifications outlined in KS F 2527("Aggregates for Concrete") only offer indirect estimations of clay mineral levels. Furthermore, the investigation into the influence of clay mineral content on concrete performance suggests that a higher clay mineral content necessitates a corresponding increase in the unit quantity of aggregates to maintain adequate workability. This, however, has a detrimental effect on the compressive strength of the concrete.

Korea Post service provides public services to the public, including mail, deposits, and insurance. The work of the postal activities is labor-intensive and physically intensive. Postal workers are exposed to the risk of injury and musculoskeletal disorders, and delivery workers are exposed to the risk of traffic accidents. The Postal Service Headquarters has strengthened safety and health activities to improve hazardous risk factors in the field. In addition, we are promoting activities to spread safety culture continuously. However, it is difficult to determine whether these activities were applied well to the site of the affiliated institution, and it is not known whether they were effective in preventing safety accidents. In addition, there is no objective evaluation system, so the current level of safety and health and problems related to workplace safety and health cannot be identified. Therefore, in this study, we tried to prepare basic data to propose an evaluation system, standard, and evaluation index suitable for the postal business so that the safety level of the public postal business can be evaluated efficiently and objectively. In other words, it was intended to analyze the characteristics of the public postal business and prepare the basis for the development of evaluation indicators considering it, and through this, an effective level evaluation can be performed and problems in safety and health management by institution can be identified.
Background: The lung capacity prediction formula in Korea is an important judgment standard. Since there is no appropriate lung capacity prediction formula, various prediction formulas are used for foreigners such as Northeast Asians. The purpose of this study is to develop a lung capacity prediction equation by selecting data and setting the selection criteria for normal subjects in accordance with international standards through strict quality control, and to propose a new prediction model. Design: Preliminary feasibility study Methods: A total of 857 people who met the criteria for normal people were finally collected. The tester used for the lung capacity test was the V-Max Encore 22 (Carefusion, California, USA), which is a lung capacity tester proposed by the Korean Society of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Medicine and satisfies accuracy and precision. Among the indicators measured using spirometry, forced vital capacity (FVC), forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1), forced expiratory volume ratio in 1 second (FEV1/FVC), forced mid-expiratory flow (Forced expiratory flow 25-75%, FEF25-75%) and peak expiratory flow (PEF) values were collected. Results: This study confirmed a significant correlation between age, height, weight, and pulmonary function indicators. Additionally, it found a correlation between body mass index, which considers the diversity of physical conditions, and pulmonary function indicators. Graphs depicting age-specific pulmonary function indicators by gender, presented as generalized additive model results from collected data, showed a pattern where both FVC and FEV1 increased until the mid-20s and then gradually decreased with aging. FEV1% and PEF exhibited a continuous decrease with aging. Conclusion: This study confirms that there is a significant correlation between weight and pulmonary function in the prediction formula for lung capacity. Additionally, it verifies the correlation between body mass index, which considers the diversity of physical conditions, and pulmonary function. The study suggests that the predicted values are relatively low due to factors such as aging and environmental influences like COVID-19. This preliminary study holds clinical significance for improving the diagnostic accuracy of respiratory symptoms in the elderly.

As extreme weather events such as heavy snowfall and typhoon become more frequent, climate change significantly impacts across various worldwide industries. With demands for dealing with this phenomenon, continuous achievements in safety diagnosis have been announced for large structures. Conversely, in agricultural infrastructures having lower risk to human life, there is lack of established safety diagnosis methods. However, considering expansion of high-value smart farm, the importance of plastic greenhouse cannot be overlooked. Therefore, this study aimed to develop on-site diagnosis technique for structural safety of steel structure greenhouse. To build an analysis model, we generated point cloud data of on-site greenhouse using a camera with LiDAR sensor. Subsequently, we extracted points corresponding to pipes using a pre-trained semantic segmentation model, achieving a pipe segmentation accuracy of 78.1%. These points were then converted into 3D frame model, with a location coordinate error of 5.4 cm for nine reference points, as measured by an on-site survey. In FEM structural analysis, nonlinearity of pipe connection was reflected. The loads were determined based on expected wind speed and snow depth in Korea. The structural safety of on-site model was diagnosed more vulnerable with 10.3% higher maximum axial stress, compared with standard model. Through this research, we expect the quantitative safety diagnosis of predicting greenhouse collapse risk. In addition, this technique will enable localized reinforcement strategies within the structure.
This study estimate radiation biological danger factor by measuring patient's exposed dose and propose the low way of patient's exposed dose in panoramic radiography. We seek correcting constant of OSL dosimeter for minimize the error of exposed dose's measurement and measure the Left, Right crystalline lens, thyroid, directly included upper, lower lips, the maxillary bone and the center of photographing that indirect included in panoramic radiography by using the human body model standard phantom advised in ICRP. Also in panoramic radiography, indirect included Left, Right crystalline lens's level of radiation are $30.73{\pm}2.34{\mu}Gy$, $31.87{\pm}2.50{\mu}Gy$, and thyroid's level of measured exposed dose can cause effect of radiation biological and we need justifiable analysis about radiation defense rule and substantiation advised international organization for the low way of patient's exposed dose in panoramic radiography of dental clinic and we judge need the additional study about radiation defense organization for protect the systematize protocol's finance and around internal organs for minimize until accepted by many people that is technological, economical and social fact by using panoramic measurement.
Purpose : The purpose of this study is to evaluate the clinical results after arthroscopic PCL reconstruction and to compare the clinical results after arthroscopic PCL reconstruction using BPTB(bone patellar tendon bone) autograft(Group I : 11 cases), Achilles tendon allograft(Group II : 7 cases) and BPTB allograft(Group 111.6 cases). Materials and Methods : We reviewed the result of 24 patients who had been managed with arthroscopic reconstruction using different graft materials such as BPTB autograft, Achilles tendon allograft and BPTB allograft. Twenty-four patients(average age, 37 years) with PCL rupture were retrospectively evaluated more than one year(average, 31 months) after having arthroscopic posterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. The clinical results were evaluated by IKDC ligament standard evaluation form, using $KT-2000^{TM}$ knee ligament arthrometer and also evaluated Lysholm knee scoring scale. Results : The final evaluation was nearly normal in 11 patients($45\%$ in Group I, $43\%$ in Group II, $50\%$ in Group III). The corrected posterior sagging was abnormal(side to side difference more than 6mm) in 8 patients($36\%$ in Group I, $29\%$ in Group II, $33\%$ in Group III). We could not find significant difference among three groups by IKDC scale. Conclusion : Comparing with other reports, our overall results were not satisfactory. And also, we could not find any remarkable difference among the three groups. Further research is necessary to evaluate new surgical approaches as well as improved techniques for capsular and collateral ligament injuries.
After Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster in 2011, study and maintenance of monitoring systems have been made at home and abroad. As concerns about radioactive contamination of water have increased in Korea, update of maintenance of managing radioactive materials in water is being made mainly by Ministry of Environment. In this study, we analysed current state of monitoring system modification in Japan, the country directly involved and neighboring country. According to the result, Japan modified the legislations first. Then Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) provides theoretical background of radiological monitoring. And Ministry of the Environment actually watches state of water pollution in public waters and underground water. Finally related agencies like local government are monitoring current state of radioactive contamination in water environment. By region, local monitoring stations share the investigation of the whole country. Also, additional monitoring is running around nuclear facilities. After Fukushima disaster, monitoring for area near Fukushima is added. Among the reference levels, management target value of drinking water and tap water is 10 Bq/kg, and those of public water and underground water are 1 Bq/L. Measuring intervals varied from every hour to once a year, regularly or irregularly depending on the investigation. The main measuring items are air dose rate, gross ${\alpha}$, gross ${\beta}$, ${\gamma}$ radionuclide, Cs-134, Cs-137, Sr-89, Sr-90, I-131, and so on. In comparison, regulations about general public water in Korea need to be modified, while those about area near nuclear facility and drinking water are organized well. In future, therefore, domestic system would be expected to be modified with making reference to the guidelines like WHO's one. As good case of applying international guideline to domestic environment, Japanese system could be a reference when general standard of radioactivity in public water is made in Korea.

Recently, two international standard organizations, ISO and OGC, have done the work of standardization for GIS. Current standardization work for providing interoperability among GIS DB focuses on the design of open interfaces. But, this work has not considered procedures and methods for designing GIS DB. Eventually, GIS DB has its own model. When we share the data by open interface among heterogeneous GIS DB, differences between models result in the loss of information. Our aim in this paper is to revise the design guidelines for geographic information databases in order to make consistent spatial data models, logical structures, and semantic structure of populated geographical databases. In details, we propose standard guidelines which convert ISO abstract schema into relation model, object-relation model, object-centered model, and geometry-centered model. Furthermore, we provide sample models for applying these guidelines in commercial GIS S/Ws. Building GIS DB based on design guidelines proposed in the paper has the following advantages: the interoperability among databases, the standardization of schema definitions, and the catalogue of GIS databases through.
