This study aims to identify the methods of implementation for the 'National Research Foundation of Korea Open Access 2021(Plan)'. This study covers the methods of implementation in the three following core items: 1) developing the details on the amount, method, and procedures of APC support; 2) proposing methods for facilitating the transition of domestic Korean academic journals to open access journals; and 3) developing methods of entrusting papers to open access repositories. APC support should be guaranteed at a reasonable level. The average or median of APC values for the previous three years will be applied to set the upper limit for support each year. APC support will be provided when the paper is published to open access journals or transitioning journals to open access. Hybrid journals or dual access journals are not included. Support for open access publishing of academic journals in Korea during the transition period will be available for open access journals that have registered for CCL in KJCI or journals that have submitted their application for transitioning to open access. Publishing in hybrid, dual access or subscription-based journals must be accompanied by items related to copyright such as embargo. Research results will be used for the detailed implementation plan of 'NRF OA2021 (Plan)'. They will serve as the base data for the rapid, stable, and sustainable implementation of open access policy in NRF, addressing the Korean domestic academic journal publishing environment and the field of international academic communication.

This study aims to review the possibility of OA to international journal articles cited by researchers of the library and information science field in Korea. For this, the international journal articless cited to the articles (1,543) of the Korean Society for Information Management were collected, and the investigation was carried out regarding the OA policy of the international journals and the status of journals that can be open to the public through the OA according to the OA policy. In addition, this study analyzed the actual accessibility by utilizing the OA finders (Google Scholar, Unpaywall, OA Button). The analysis result indicated that the majority of the international journals were using the green OA policy. Also, 1,476 journal articles which is 95.4% of the total international journal articles were allowed to be accessed officially with the OA. The results of reviewing the actual accessibility rate of the journal articles open to the public through the use of the OA finders indicated that accessibility was up to 68% when using Google Scholar, and the maximum accessibility rate was 72% when mixing the OA finders. Among the OA finders, Google Scholar had the greatest OA accessibility rate, but it was desirable to mix the OA finders in order to expand the OA accessibility rate to the maximum level.

In order to assess the state of library and information science (LIS) research in Korea, the study analyzed bibliometric data of papers published in past 18 years in Korea Citation Index (KCI) and Social Science Citation Index (SSCI) journals. The analysis of study data, which consisted of 6,301 KCI journal papers with 26,474 citations and 86,727 SSCI journal papers with 1,196,961 citations from 2002 to 2020, involved comparison of research productivity and impact, collaboration trends, and key areas of research between domestic and international LIS scholars with normalizations by units of analysis for size differences. Even with size normalization, the study found a marked difference in citation patterns between domestic and international LIS research. Korean LIS authors were twice as productive as international LIS authors but a little over a half as impactful. The results also showed a much higher level of skewness in international research, where a fraction of top authors, institutions, and journals received a lion's share of citations. The trend of increasing co-authorship was much more pronounced among international publication, where the recent popularity of larger collaboration groups suggests multi-disciplinary and increasingly complex nature of modern LIS research in the world stage. The keyword analysis revealed a much more diverse subject area in international than domestic LIS research with a recent shift towards technology, such as big data, blockchain, and altmetrics. Keywords in SSCI journals also exhibited a less connection between popularity and impact than KCI keywords, where popular keywords did not necessarily correspond to impactful keywords.

The objective of our research was an international comparison focusing on studies conducted on parks and green spaces undertaken in Japan and Korea. We also aim to clarify the similarities and differences between the two countries and consider the key features of the researches on the field of landscape architecture. We compared the recent trends of Japanese institute with Korean observed in the theme of research papers adopt title of them. The research period spanned approximately twenty years, from 1980 to 2003. We employed the Table of Contents information search system to research academic journal articles and to select the journals that included articles with the key words [park(s)] or [green space(s)] in their title. We chronologically arranged the journals for each country, based on the total number of journals and classification categories. We then conducted a comparative examination among the two countries. We also contributed information on the circumstances behind the formulation or amendment of some policies and laws and we checked the results against the research trend. Among the selected journals, the number of papers was the highest by the Institute of Landscape Architecture. But the reason for increase of the number of papers on green spaces in Japanese journals was not published by the Institute of Landscape Architecture but by the City Planning Institute and the Architecture Institute. In Japan, the papers on parks categorized under historical study were the highest among all categories. On the other hand, in Korean journals, papers on parks categorized under historical study were few. A similar trend was recognized in papers on green spaces. Every society is concerned with the study of function and effect. However, some exact differences have been observed by category classification. In Japan, the percentage of function and effect papers on parks was less than those on green spaces. In Korea, both percentages for these groups were high. The category of system and policy accounted for $17\%$ of the papers on green spaces in Korea. This result was higher than the number of papers on green spaces and parks in Japan and parks in Korea. Recently, the number of papers focusing on large-scale green space system has decreased in Japan. The trend in the study of parks and green spaces on a regional scale or at an individual level will be closely monitored. Systems and modeling studies have been focusing in Korea. The understanding between the administration and the citizens was peculiar to each country.
The purpose of this research is to identify the global capability of international entrepreneurship, categorize internationalization opportunities into different types, and propose international entrepreneurship and the fit of opportunities. To do so, this study reviewed seven prominent business journals between 1996 and 2015 reflected the international business activities of entrepreneur and identified 6 attributes of international entrepreneurship. Second, this study analyzed researches using internationalization motivation as a keyword, categorized the researches into 4 types of internationalization opportunity according to the exploration and exploitation of resources. Third, this study developed conceptual models based on them to identify international entrepreneurship and fit of opportunities and gave a hypothesis on the relationship between international entrepreneurship, internationalization opportunity, and internationalization performance. By clarifying which capability of an international entrepreneur is needed in an internationalization opportunity, this study is expected to provide theoretical and practical implications to the internationalization performance of firms.

Korean academic societies in science and technology are trying to improve the prestige and quality of their journals by enlisting them in international citation databases. In order to be enlisted in international citation databases, a journal should be managed and maintained according to the policies of organizations operating citation databases. In particular, a journal should have an effective on-line publishing process including fair and transparent peer-review. KISTI studied the systematical necessary element so that the domestic journal could receive the evaluation for the international index DB record. Based on this, KISTI designed the Article Contribution Management System(ACOMS) Ver. 4.0 including the academic journal homepage and completed the english ACOMS development in 2010. Presently the english ACOMS promotes the continued facility improvement in 2012 in order to be reborn as the international journal manuscript submission/review and electronic publishing system. And it is managed about the academic journal of 49 kinds including JICCE academic journal. Therefore, this paper suggests utilizing english ACOMS as a way for JICCE journal to enlist their journals in international citation database.

This study investigated original articles published in the Journal of the Korean Society of Clothing and Textiles (JKSCT) from 1977 through 2013 with a consideration of the research collaboration structure. Two international journals were chosen: Textile Research Journal (TRJ) and International Journal of Clothing Science and Technology (IJCT) in order to compare the clothing science research trends of JKSCT-publications to international trends. The collected data from the three journals were used to probe periodic changes in the number of publications and nationality of authors to find the relative international position of Korean clothing and textile researchers. Figures, tables, and references in each article were counted to suggest the most suitable way to express and interpret clothing science results. In addition to the quantified data analysis, a qualified analysis was investigated with the co-author network analysis. The findings revealed an increase in the number of published articles in JKSCT until 2009 with the rapid decrease after. The number of co-authors in JKSCT was relatively small compared to TRJ and IJCT but growing in the clothing and textile science group. The number of references in JKSCT increased 3 times from 1977 to 2013; therefore, it was assumed there is more recent active clothing and textile research. Lastly, a pattern of authors' interaction and the most contributed authors in the network was illustrated in the clothing and textile science group. The present study confirms that JKSCT has made significant progress toward knowledge development in the clothing and textile field and suggests that the analysis of accumulative knowledge helps researchers broaden the scale and approach of studies.

This article analyzes motivations behind social sciences blog posts citing journal articles in order to find out whether blog citations are good indicators for the societal impact or benefits of research. A random sample of 300 social sciences blog posts (out of 1,233 blog posts) from ResearchBlogging.org published between 01/01/2012 to 18/06/2014 were subjected to content analysis. The 300 blog posts had 472 references including 424 journal articles from 269 different journals. Sixty-one (22.68%) of all cited journals were from the social sciences and most of the journals with high frequency were highly cited general science journals such as PNAS and Science. Seventy-five percent of all journals were referenced only once. The average age of articles cited at the time of citation was 5.8 years. Discussion and criticism were the two main categories of motivations. Overall, the study shows the potential of blog citations as an altmetric measure and as a proxy for assessing the research impact. A considerable number of citation motivations in blogs such as disputing a belief, suggesting policies, providing a solution to a problem, reacting to media, criticism and the like seemed to support gaining societal benefits. Societal benefits are considered as helping stimulate new approaches to social issues, or informing public debate and policymaking. Lower self-citation (compared to some other altmetric measures such as tweets) and the fact that blogging involves generating content (i.e. an intellectual process) give them an advantage for altmetrics. However, limitations and contextual issues such as disciplinary differences and low uptake of altmetrics, in general, in scholarly communication should not be ignored when using blogs as a data source for altmetrics.
Microsatellites, which are sequences of repetitive short nucleotides, are abundant in the genome and have relatively many alleles at a locus. Hence, microsatellite markers are used in various research areas such as medicine, agriculture, and biology. Thanks to recent advanced techniques and databases associated with microsatellite marker development, foreign research relying on microsatellite markers is increasing in various study areas. In this study, by analyzing microsatellites-related articles published during 2000-2014 from eight Korean national journals representing zoology, botany, genetics, ecology and environmental science, breeding science, and forest science ('Animal Cells and Systems', 'Journal of Plant Biology', 'Genes and Genomics', 'Korean Society of Environment and Ecology', 'Korean Journal of Breeding Science', 'Journal of Agricultural Science, Chungnam National University', 'Journal of Korean Forest Society' and 'Forest Science and Technology'), we found that the number of articles and diversity of study subjects and objects have increased considerably. However, there are fewer applications of microsatellites in the national forest science area. During 2000-2014 in 'Journal of Korean Forest Society', the percentage of articles dealing with microsatellite markers was found to be the lowest with 4.2% among articles focusing on PCR-based markers including RAPD, AFLP, and ISSR. However, in 'Canadian Journal of Forest Research' and 'Forest Ecology and Management', microsatellite marker articles were represented at their highest with 69.2% and 76.2%, respectively. Given the advantages of microsatellite markers, the publication of research papers using microsatellites should be increased in Korean forest science journals to the level of studies published in prominent international journals.
