This study started with the question of whether the percentage of non-aeronautical revenues at Incheon airport was extremely high when compared with other international airports. Although aeronautical revenues for the airport based on the traditional business model have the limits to grow due to various regulations, stakeholders concerned about improving the competitiveness recently have been interested in increasing non-aeronautical revenues. This study deals with the effect of non-aeronautical revenues at international airports on airport charges as the extent of airport privatization get stronger. To examine hypotheses, we collected international data from trustful sources. Finally, we conducted an empirical analysis of 178 airports worldwide. As a result, the higher the percentage of non-aeronautical revenues at international airports, the lower the airport charges were. Besides, the private equity ratio positively moderated the relationship between the percentage of non-aeronautical revenues and airport charges. Privatization of airports may offset the effects of reduced airport charges through increased commercial activity. Graphical display for moderation effect is offered to facilitate comprehension.

Due to the continuous expansion of the highway, the opening of the high-speed railway(KTX), etc, the demands of domestic air transport decreasing. In the circumstances, airports and local governments are spending themselves in taking a measure to activate local airports. In this aspect, this study seeks the smooth flow of human movement through the activation of Daegu International Airport by analyzing the present condition of Daegu International Airport in relation to the appearance of the high-speed railway, deducing plans for activating airports, and presenting the roadmaps for long-, mid- and short-term roles for the development of Daegu Airport, and Presents substantial fulfilling plans to secure the competitive power of Daegu International Airport by speeding up the flow of air goods of the area for the long run. It is suggested in the study that by setting up an organization exclusively responsible for activating Daegu International Airport in the city of Daegu, supporting local travel agencies to promote consistent demands, supporting aviation companies to employ Daegu International Airport as a major air base, establishing airlines with priority for airports that open newly in local cities of Japan and establishing and expanding airlines in China areas be promoted actively. Ministry of Construction & Transportation makes it a means of main airport Policy to only support Incheon International Airport to be a hub. However not only Incheon International Airport should be an amok representing the country, but also the wide Metropolitan area should supply the demands, and airports based in the West and East Coast areas need to be developed in the future. It is suggested that since air demands of domestic local airports are based on the demands of the of gin destination in neighboring region, multiple bases need to be developed. It is suggested that by developing not 1 in mega hub (Incheon International Airport) but 1 in mega hub. 2 in regional hub (the West and East Coast) and Jeju foy the tourism hub in our developing airports system.

This study is carried out to propose an empirical equation which can promptly predict the aircraft noise level at a specific point (a receptor) near Jeju international airport by using the information of the flight path data. For this purpose, Analyses of multiple linear regression with the slant distances (SD) calculated from the gate analyses of the flight path data, aircraft noise certification levels with unit of EPNL(effective perceived noise level) and noise levels measured at receptors are performed by SPSS package. From these regression analyses for approach and departure of aircraft, we can propose empirical equations which is statistically significant. The noise levels predicted by these empirical equations are highly correlated the measured data.

Incheon International Airport as the gateway to Korea is having the happiest time with those honorable prizes. But in these days, the trend of aviation is changing rapidly, so many rival airports in the world as well as north-east asian countries are rushing to find new revenue sources not to be turned over. Hence Incheon International Airport should push into fresh fields or create new sources of business keeping innovation by making foreign airports its role model. This study brings up some new profit models of foreign airports; Malaysia's Kuala Lumpur International Airport, China's Xiamen Aviation Industry Zone, German's Frankfurt Fraport Airports Group. This study analyzes the status of listed airports and presents strategies after investigating whether they are suitable for and compatible to Incheon International Airport.

The construction of New Seoul International Airport is under way despite much controversy. Among much discussed, but not well-formulated controversy is the possibility of the airport as a hub in the North Asia Region. This paper specifies the factors which render it possible for an airport to be a regional hub. Then each factor is applied to the new airport to see whether it can function as a hub airport. Also examined is the qualitative cost and benefit calculation related to the hub function. The usual discussion has missed one big point of cost side of hub function in the belief that the hub only produces benefits to the national economy where the airline and airport industry belong; earlier-than-expected congestion and the necessity to expand the airport sufficiently enough to accommodate the increasing air demand. An airport as a hub is determined by several factors; geographical location ; economic status of the country where the airport belongs ; bilateral air service agreements according to which the airlines can exercise the route rights; the airport charges which directly influence the cost structure of the carriers ; international aviation and airport related policies of each country in the region ; airport capacity etc. The tentative implications of this paper are the followings; first, the new airport is able to function as a regional hub in the transpacific routes which connect Asian countries and North America. That is, directional hubbing by the airlines is implicated; second, the main benefits may be accrued to american airlines exercising all the route rights in the Asian region; third, the governmental effort to make the new airport a regional hub must take caution in optimizing the hubbing level (% of transitting passengers and freight) between the benefits and the costs. Further Studies may include optimal level of hubbing for the new airport and, quantification of the impact of the new airport on the national economy depending on the degree of hubbing.

Incheon international airport has tried to upgrade its image by hosting lots of international events and inviting celebrities as a honorary ambassador of airport. It is uncomparable to other airports all over the globe for incheon airport to utilize an honorary ambassador to promote airport. The purpose of this paper is to try to find out the PR effect of employing honorary embassador at Incheon airport, which has a positive impact on enhancing the image of Incheon airport. In other words, it should be considered the PR effect of honorary embassador has contributed to upgrading airport image resulting in the commitment of passengers. According to empirical research result, it is proven the attractiveness and trust of honorary embassador has not significantly positive impact on the airport's image. However it is also proven the PR activities of airport authority has a significant impact on the airport's image. Passengers believed the honorary ambassador has a high level of attractiveness and trust but they don't agree causal relationship among attractiveness, trust and airport image. That is, they are not interested in who is the honorary ambassador of airport but in the contents of airport's news article itself. The administrative implication is mentioned in the paper that airport authority should mainly focus on the contents of PR not the figure of the honorary ambassador.

Analyzing the economic effects of establishing an airport in Chongju community, the authors have studied how much the new international airport will impact regional society and what the critical factors are for successful airport. We researched several foreign case studies and analyzed surveyed data in order to find out what dimensions passengers expect to feel good service. The findings have many implications for service theory and managers in airport management.

In this article, we verify to influence in the management performance by the safety management system that is recommended by the ICAO for the safety management on the airside area in the airport. Also, We present a comprehensive mediator effect that the employees perceive safety culture and safety behavior. We design how participants were selected as study the employees from 4 airports on the airside areas of the Incheon International Airport, Gimpo International Airport, Jeju International Airport and Gimhae International Airport in the Korea using the simple random sampling method. The instrument for data collection was a questionnaire, and it was developed. Data analysis was to conduct structural equation modeling. Test of the hypotheses were verified to Maximum Likelihood Estimator. As a result of the analysis, safety behavior and risk management of the safety management system found out that affect management performance. Also, the employees of a high awareness about safety policy could be seen that is a high impact on management performance through a safety culture and a safety behavior. Safety behavior has significant mediator effect within the relationship between the safety management system and management performance. So, We provide guidance of the safety policies for the safety management on the airside area in the airport.

An indicator system is an effective way to monitor ongoing safety status. Current aviation safety measurements account for many qualitative technical and lagging indicators. Conversely, quantitative and leading indicators have only a tiny proportion. This research added more quantitative leading indicators and reviewed them to harmonize lagging and leading indicators to measure airport safety and provide an index. The South Korean national gate, Incheon International Airport's indicators, were applied as primary data to verify this research practically. Then, examples from International and national authorities were reviewed and extracted for use. Fifty-five safety specialists participated in the focus group discussion and three rounds of the Delphi survey. Finally, 51 sub-indicators were newly chosen. After this process, weights for each indicator could be assigned using the AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) to provide an integrated index. The result of the simulation with newly added indicators in the past five years (2020-2022) reliable trend showed in indicators and integrated index. Moreover, this allows monitoring the status of the details of indicators and holistic insight. This study considered that it is more suitable for a single company or service provider to use it according to the exact situation than in a macro- and general-purpose at the country or regional level.

This study aims at examining the environment of waterfronts by applying satellite remote sensing technique. In doing so we have selected Inchon International Airport, Korea as a case. As a method of the study, Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and land cover changes are estimated in and around Inchon International Airport. As a result of the study, we have found vegetation's change in the Airport and variation of neighborhood city by building of waterfront.
