The concept of style including the external form and internal meaning provides a useful structure to clarify the historical phenomenon on dress. The purpose of this study was to explore surrealism related to the external form and internal meaning and the stylistic change of surrealism through 1930 and 1988 according the linked solution proposed by Brodsky. The results were as follows; 1. In terms of double roots including the external form and the internal meaning on the surrealism of dress, first, the external form was founded to be that each objects having symbolic meaning was dislocated from its original place to dress. Second, the aspects of internal meaning intended to represent not rational and external world but irrational as well as to reveal other nature of object or dress itself. 2. The change of surrealistic style on dress was characterised as "linked solution" change theory than cyclical change theory through the historical data from 1930 to 1988 of documentary sources.

BACKGROUND The purpose of this study was to investigate disability of the patients after stroke, clinical applicability and usefulness of the FIM in evaluating the functional abilities and to assess the characteristics of the patients after stroke. And this study examined difference by predictive factors on the treatment outcome. METHOD The study was composed of 31 stroke patients who were within 1 week after stroke and had been treated in hospital more than 4 weeks. Improving rate was measured by using the Functional Independence Measure(FIM), and the correlation was analyzed between Motor FIM and Cognitive FIM. We analyzed significant meaning statistically in the mean value of FIM. RESULT 1. There was no significant meaning statistically in the mean value of FIM that was between both at admission and after 2 weeks. But there was proportional correlation between both at admission and after 4 weeks, and significant meaning statistically. 2. There was proportional correlation between both FIM and Motor FIM, and significant meaning statistically. But there was no significant meaning statistically between both FIM and Cognitive FIM. 3. There was no significant meaning statistically between both FIM and sex, age, side of weakness, stroke subtype, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, diabetes mellitus, heart disease, starting point of rehabilitation therapy and past history of cerebral vascular accident. While dysarthria affected functional recovery in stroke patients, and significant meaning statistically. CONCLUSION 1. FIM appeared to be a valid and reliable method to measure the functional abilities of the patients after stroke. 2. Only one thing between Motor FIM and score didn't influence FIM score. 3. Dysarthria affected functional recovery in stroke patients, and it is the statistically significant factor.

This study sought to develop a 'Meaning of Parenting Scale for Mothers(MPS-M)' in order to measure how Korean mothers perceive the meaning of parenting. To this end, in Study I, a preliminary scale was designed, based firstly on socio-cultural and evolutionary psychological perspectives and secondly on the responses from 118 mothers concerning meaning of parenting. This was followed up by the collection of 887 mothers' responses to the preliminary scale, which then underwent exploratory factor analysis for scale revision. In Study 2, confirmatory factor analysis was conducted on a collection of responses from 548 mothers using the revised scale. Concurrent validity was tested using a parenting stress scale, and reliability was then checked by conducting calculations for internal consistency. As a result, the MPS-M was finally developed, consisting of 25 items under six factors: 'Internal Maturity', 'Restoration of Naturality', 'Familial Union', 'Physical Burden', 'Affective Disorientation', and 'Comprehensive Loss'. Accordingly, the meaning of parenting was statistically confirmed as a hierarchical two-sided concept possessing six factors under positive and negative meaning categories.

본 연구는 한국 고등학생 및 대학생을 대상으로 삶의 의미추구와 학업만족의 관계에서 희망의 역할을 파악하고 희망을 향상시키는 방안을 모색하는데 목적이 있다. 삶의 의미추구와 학업만족의 관계를 희망이 매개할 것이라고 가정하였고, 삶의 의미추구와 희망의 관계에서 가족 및 친구지원의 조절효과를 예상하였다. 연구 1에서 대학생 190명을 대상으로 설문을 진행한 결과, 희망이 삶의 의미추구와 학업만족의 관계를 완전 매개함을 확인하였다. 연구 2에서는 희망을 내적 희망과 가족, 친구, 초월적 존재에 기반 한 외적 희망으로 구분하여 삶의 의미추구와 학업만족의 관계에서 희망의 역할을 세부적으로 파악하고자 하였다. 고등학생 313명을 대상으로 설문을 진행한 결과(연구 2), 고등학생의 삶의 의미추구와 학업만족의 관계가 내적 희망과 친구에게 기반 한 외적 희망에 의해 완전매개 되는 것으로 나타났으며 가족 및 초월적 존재에 기반 한 외적 희망의 매개효과는 유의하지 않았다. 사회적 지원의 조절효과와 관련하여, 삶의 의미추구와 희망의 관계에서 가족 지지의 조절효과가 유의하였다. 즉, 가족으로부터 지지를 받는 사람은 그렇지 않은 사람보다 삶의 의미추구와 희망의 정적 관계(연구 1) 및 삶의 의미추구와 내적 희망의 정적관계(연구 2)가 강하게 나타났다. 삶의 의미추구와 희망의 관계에서 친구지원의 조절효과는 연구 1과 연구 2에서 모두 유의하지 않았다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 연구의 의의, 한계점 및 후속 연구에 대한 제언을 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the mental, social and aesthetic facets contained in ancient shining costumes and to find out the internal meaning of ancient shining costumes that they wished to express. This study was based on the theoretical data regarding the materials, types, and characteristics of the shining costumes. Egypt, Rome, Greece and several Mesopotamian countries have been included as a scope of research. The literature examination skill was applied for the research. The internal meaning of ancient shining costumes could be understood as an instrument of expression regarding religion, social status and beauty.

The purposes of this study are to comprehend the internal meaning and the external form in style of Greek statue's clothing in the light of linked solution, and to compare the characterizations of style of Greek statue's clothing with those in Greek Art. For these purpose, the theoretical studies about Greek art are preceded as a framework of this research, and then plastic characteristics of Greek statue's clothing and Greek art are analyzed by the documentary studies, For sources, photographs of Greek statue in Archaeological Museum and Louvre museum are used. The result is as follows. It is demonstrated that the characters of internal meaning in style of Greek art and Greek statue's clothing. The internal meaning of style of Greek art and Greek statue's clothing are as follows 1) Beauty of vital is subject that possessed life and movement and embodied dynamics or inherent power. 2) Beauty of moderation is subject that achieves some of its most impressive and practise a similar economy and restraint. 3) Beauty of character is subject that reveals the character of its wearer and has its own charm and distinction The Greeks clarified beauty by looking for mathematical proportions. It is the interrelation of part with one another, and with the whole, together with the additional element of good colour, which constitutes beauty as perceived by the eyes. The beauty in style of Greek statue's clothing consists of a sense of geometrical pattern, oder, symmetry, proportion, and rhythm.

Objectives : This study aims to examine the multi-layered meanings of Li Dongyuan's concept of 'internal damage' through examining the origins of the 'internal damage' concept together with discussions derived from his 'Differentiation of Internal and External Damage'. Methods : Rather than Li's original works, those done by later doctors who were influenced by Li were thoroughly examined in this study to determine the relationships among internal and external damage, and external contraction. Results : Based on discussions related to the 'differentiation of internal and external damage' following Li, his concept of 'internal damage' could be understood as multi-layered, as it contains both spatial as well as pathogenic meaning. Therefore the meaning behind categorizations of internal and external damage, and internal damage and external contraction could be different. Li's 'internal damage' concept includes not only internal pathogen but elements of external contraction of wind and cold, which seems to have been integrated into the 'Cold Damage Theory' after Zhu Danxi, seemingly having changed the concept of cold damage. Therefore, discussions on the crossing between internal damage and external contraction have on one hand expanded the boundaries of each concept, while on the other hand, have caused confusion between the two at times. Conclusions : The concept of 'internal damage' has been widely accepted due to Li Dongyuan, on which related discussions have been centered. However, the concept was originally multi-layered, naturally leading to various discussions. Future studies should focus on the relationship of 'internal damage' with 'external damage' or 'external contraction', beyond the theories of Li.

The present study is designed that the herb medicines which are returned to kidney, pancreas and are known by efficacy in growth are supplied to pigs, thereafter the effects to growth and secretion of growth hormone in serum is investigated. For this purpose the 24 days old pigs, which are crossbreeding, castrated are used. The conclusions are that after 4 weeks' supply of herb medicinal compounds, pigs' weight gain has increased in low nutritional group with statistical meaning(p〈0.05). And one day's weight gain has increased with statistical meaning(p〈0.05) in all groups. Regarding food take, the second nutritional group has more significant increase than control group. Utilization rate of nutrition doesn't have any statistical meaning in all groups, but it has the tendency that as herb medicinal compounds are added, utilization rate of nutrition is increased. Increase of vertebra lengths and level of growth hormone in serum according to supply of herb medicinal compound don't have any statistical meaning because of small sample size, but 10 - 20 % increase of vertebra lengths and 10 - 30 % increase of level of growth hormone are observed.

Semiotics is an external expression for show-ing internal meaning, and the signs express the internal meaning. The architects and the designers are very similar each other in using semiotics for expressing their desires. Histori-cally, the design similarity exists between the architecture and the fashion. In this study, the fashion designs are interpreted by using semiotics of architectural design, especially emphasizing external expression methods for representing internal desires. To express the human body's character-istics, the volume, weight support, structural simplicity, controllability and beauty of fashion were used for the fashion designs, and those characters could be found at the architec-tural patterns. Balenciaga's fashion emphasized the volume, the weigh support, the structural simplicity and the controllability, while Roberto Capucci rejected the approach of using women's body curves, but used the volume and simplicity of natures in addition to Balenciaga's heavy weight design patterns. The control and the modern dedication were used to make the simple patterns by Courreges, and then brought the Modernism to the fashion. Courreges used the cutting characters to func-tional design for expressing the structural sim-plicity.

The theory of representation, which has been an important topic of epistemology, has long history of study. But it has diverse meaning according to the fields of argument. In this paper the author set the meaning of mathematical representation as the interrelation of internal and external representations. With this concept, the following items were studied. 1. Survey on the concepts of mathematical representations. 2. Investigation of pedagogical significance of the mathematical representations, taking into account the characteristics of school mathematics. 3. Recommendation of principles for teaching representation to cope with the problems that are related with cause of disliking each domain of the secondary school mathematics. This study is expected to enable the development of teaching methods to help students strengthening their ability to comprehend mathematical sentences.
