To learn more about the calibration properties of reduced sulfur compounds (RSCs) by the combination of gas chromatography(GC)-pulsed flame photometric detector (PFPD) and thermal desorption method, a series of calibration experiments were conducted on the basis of both internal and external calibration approaches. For these experiments, gaseous standards of 4 RSCs ($H_2S$, $CH_3SH$, DMS, and DMDS) were prepared at two different concentration levels of both low (10, 20, 50,and 100 ppb) and high ranges (100, 200, 500, and 1000 ppb) along with $CS_2$ as an internal standard. First, the external calibration results were compared between fixed standard volume (FSV) and fixed standard concentration (FSC) method. Secondly, FSV-based calibration results were compared between external and internal calibration results. As FSV method suffers from sensitivity variations less significantly than FSC, the former is recommended to maintain the consistency in GC-TD sensitivity for RSC analysis. In addition, when the calibration data were examined in terms of RSE between external and internal calibration data, the results were not consistent enough to show improvements in internal method. Hence, diverse efforts are desirable to optimize the reproducibility in terms of GC-TD sensitivity for RSC analysis.
The focus of this paper is to present techniques to overcome certain difficulties in quantitative analysis with a time-of-flight mass spectrometer (TOF-MS). The method is based on conventional solid-phase extraction, followed by reversed-phase ultra high performance liquid chromatography of the extract, and mass spectrometric analysis. The target compounds included atenolol, atrazine, caffeine, carbamazepine, diclofenac, estrone, ibuprofen, naproxen, simazine, sucralose, sulfamethoxazole, and triclosan. The matrix effects caused by high concentrations of organic compounds in wastewater are especially significant in electrospray ionization mass spectroscopy. Internal-standard calibration with isotopically labeled standards corrects the results for many matrix effects, but some peculiarities were observed. The problems encountered in quantitation of carbamazepine and triclosan, due to nonlinear calibration were solved by changing the internal standard and using a narrower mass window. With simazine, the use of a quadratic calibration curve was the best solution.
PURPOSES: Used in transportation planning and traffic engineering, almost traffic simulation tools have input variable values optimized by overseas traffic flow attribution because they are almost developed in overseas country. Thus, model calibration appropriated for internal traffic flow attribution is needed to improve reliability of simulation method. METHODS : In this study, the traffic flow model calibration is based on expressways. For model calibration, it needs to define each expressway link according to attribution, thus it is classified by design speed, geometric conditions and number of lanes. And modified greenshield model is used as traffic flow model. RESULTS : The result of the traffic model calibration indicates that internal congested density is lower than overseas. And the result of analysis according to the link attribution indicates that the more design speed and number of lanes increase, the lower the minimum speed, the higher the congested density. CONCLUSIONS: In the traffic simulation tool developed in overseas, the traffic flow is different as design speed and number of lanes, but road segment don't affect traffic flow. Therefore, these results need to apply reasonably to internal traffic simulation method.

This paper presents an average internal loop-back antenna calibration method for array antenna in TDD(Time Division Duplex) systems. The proposed method calibrates the amplitude and the phase of RF systems using into mal coupler and switches without aids of external calibration systems. The average calibration scheme of the proposed method also increases reliability of calibration performance. Computer simulation demonstrates that the proposed method corrects beamforming angles of DOA estimation algorithm and BER performance in transmit power allocation scheme.
Camera calibration is an important part of machine vision and close-range photogrammetry. Since current calibration methods fail to obtain ideal internal and external camera parameters with limited computing resources on mobile terminals efficiently, this paper proposes an improved fast camera calibration method for mobile terminals. Based on traditional camera calibration method, the new method introduces two-order radial distortion and tangential distortion models to establish the camera model with nonlinear distortion items. Meanwhile, the nonlinear least square L-M algorithm is used to optimize parameters iteration, the new method can quickly obtain high-precise internal and external camera parameters. The experimental results show that the new method improves the efficiency and precision of camera calibration. Terminals simulation experiment on PC indicates that the time consuming of parameter iteration reduced from 0.220 seconds to 0.063 seconds (0.234 seconds on mobile terminals) and the average reprojection error reduced from 0.25 pixel to 0.15 pixel. Therefore, the new method is an ideal mobile terminals camera calibration method which can expand the application range of 3D reconstruction and close-range photogrammetry technology on mobile terminals.

Camera calibration is a procedure which calculates internal and external parameters of a camera with the Down world coordinates of the control points. Accurate camera calibration is required for achieving accurate visual measurements. In this paper, we propose a simple and flexible camera calibration using neural networks which doesn't require a special knowledge of 3D geometry and camera optics. There are some applications which are not in need of the values of the internal and external parameters. The proposed method is very useful to these applications. Also, the proposed camera calibration has advantage that resolves the ill-condition as object plane is near parallel image plane. The ill-condition is frequently met in product inspection. For little more accurate calibration, acquired image is divided into two regions according to radial distortion of lens and neural network is applied to each region. Experimental results and comparison with Tsai's algorithm prove the validity of the proposed camera calibration.

Some receiver(and most transmit) beamforming algorithms with an array antenna at a cellular CDMA base stations require accurate internal and external calibrations. The external calibration, which usually needs to be done only once, determines the array manifolds, i.e. the complex response of each antenna as a function of DOA(Directions of Arrival). The internal calibrations are necessary because characteristics of RF/IF circuity of each receiver chain vary differently in response to temperature or humidity changes. We propose an iterative subspace-based calibration algorithm for an asynchronous CDMA-based antenna away in the presence of unknown gain and phase error is presented. We verify the subspace-based calibration algorithms by performing the experiment using measured data. Also, we propose an efficient algorithm using the simulated annealing technique. This algorithm overcomes the problem of the initial guessing in the subspace-based approach.

The objective of camera calibration is to determine the internal optical characteristics of camera and the three-dimensional position and orientation of camera with respect to the real world. Calibration procedure for computer vision should be automatical, accurate and applicable to general purpose cameras and lenses. In this paper, we present camera calibration method which meets the above requirements. The algorithm is based on the two-stage method which takes into account lens distortion in the second stage. In this paper, the overdetermined nonlinear system is established in terms of the constraints to all directions and our calibration algorithm is proposed which is constructed by using Marquardt iterations and our calibration algorithm is proposed which is constructed by using Marquardt iteration method in solving nonlinear equations. Experimental results indicate that lens distortion should be taken into consideration for the calibration of the general-purpose lens. With 24 calibration points acquired out of 512$\times$512 image, the proposed algorithm came up with average error of less than 1 pixel and showed a higher accuracy over the conventional two-stage method.
Audiometric calibration is a prerequisite for securing the reliability of audiometric test results by checking the internal consistency of the relevant instrument. The purpose of this review is to help instrument operators understand the calibration procedure of aural acoustic immittance instrument which is frequently used for objective assessment. By referring to the latest international standards and the national standards relevant to the aural acoustic immittance instrument, the following parameters will be reviewed: 1) introduction of performance characteristics, 2) detailed procedure of the calibration method. According to the newest international and national standards [IEC 60645-5 (2004), ANSI S3.39-1987 (R2012)], the aural acoustic immittance instrument basically includes six components: 1) calibration cavity, 2) acoustic immittance analysis system, 3) probe assembly/unit and signal, 4) pneumatic air-pressure pump system, 5) acoustic reflex activator system and 6) tympanogram and acoustic reflex plotting system, each of these components should meet set standards. The result of behavioral hearing tests is influenced by various complex factors including the examinee's cooperation, background noise of the examination room, measurement method, skill level of the audiologist and calibration status, but the objective hearing tests is more influenced by the calibration status of the instrument than any other factors. The audiologist should take full responsibility for the reliability of the hearing test result, so he/she should carry out the calibration check and adjustments of aural acoustic immittance instrument periodically and maintain the instrument continuously by referring to the newest standards and the manufacturer's instruction manual.

Battery use is increasing worldwide to achieve carbon neutrality and improve energy efficiency, but batteries are a finite resource and their application is determined by capacity and specifications. Battery performance deteriorates as the number of uses increases. A certain level of battery performance degradation has become an issue in the field of reuse and recycling, and various studies are being conducted on reuse to solve power shortages. Waste batteries from electric vehicles are suitable for building ESS based on reusable batteries, and for stable use, technical skills are needed to accurately predict battery life and determine status information. Predicting battery life and determining status information are difficult due to non-linearity due to internal structure or chemical changes. In this paper, we manufactured a modular internal resistance measuring device and compared the measured values with Hioki equipment to minimize the error rate through a correction method. As a result of testing Hioki equipment and modular measuring instruments to ensure efficiency and safety based on reusable batteries, an accuracy of over 95% was confirmed.
