비대칭 사다리꼴 단면 선재의 다단 인발 공정설계 (Process Design of Multi-Pass Shape Drawing of Wire with Asymmetric Trapezoid Profiles)

  • The objective of the current study is to determine cross-sectional profile of intermediate dies in order to improve the plastic strain homogeneity which directly affects not only the dimensional accuracy but also the mechanical properties of final product by redesigning the intermediate dies using the conventional electric field analysis (EFA) method. Initially, the multi-pass shape wire drawing was designed by using the equivalent potential lines from EFA. The area reduction ratio was calculated from the number of passes in multi-pass shape wire drawing but constrained by the capacity of the drawing machine and the drawing force. In order to compensate for a concentration of strain in a region of the cross section of the wire, the process for multi pass wire drawing from initial round material to an intermediate die was redesigned again using the electric field analysis. Both drawing process designs were simulated by the finite element method in which the strain distribution and standard deviation plastic strain of the cross section of drawn wires were examined.

혼성육(混成肉)을 원료(原料)로 한 중간수분식품(中間水分食品)의 시제(試製) (An Intermediate Moisture Food from a Composite Meat of Squid and Pork)

  • 혼성육(混成肉)을 원료(原料)로 한 IM식품(食品)을 제조함에 있어서 그 제조조건(製造條件)을 확립(確立)하고 제품(製品)의 효과 기호성(嗜好性) 및 저장성(貯藏性)을 검토하였다. 즉 마쇄(磨碎)한 오징어와 돈육(豚肉)의 혼성육(混成肉)(1 : 1)을 조미성형(調味成型)하여 간장에 20분간 끓이고, $80^{\circ}C$로 가온(加溫)한 glycerol에 20분 동안 담근다음, $60^{\circ}C$에서 70분간 열풍건조(熱風乾燥)함으로써 부드럽고 기호성이 좋은 제품(製品)을 얻을 수 있었다. 본(本) 시제품(試製品)을 polyethylene(0.05 mm). polypropylene(0.05 mm) 및 Al foil에 각각 포장한 후 $37^{\circ}C$, 포화습도(飽和濕度)의 incubator에 42일간 저장하는 동안에 총균수(總菌數)는 1 g당 230에서 각각 40, 20 및 10으로 감소하였고 같은 조건으로 6개월간 장기 저장한 시료도 마찬가지로 감소경향을 나타내었으며 그 내용물은 식용(食用)함에 있어서 새로 만든 제품에 비하여 손색이 없었다.

해양심층수로 제조된 두부의 품질특성 (Quality of Tofu Prepared with Deep Seawater as Coagulant)

  • This study investigated the quality of tofu prepared by treating soybean milk with deep seawater as a coagulant. The quality and shelf-life of the tofu prepared using the deep seawater coagulant were determined and compared to those using $CaSO_4$, surface seawater, and intermediate seawater coagulant. The tofu made with the deep seawater coagulant was firmest. In addition, the deep seawater tofu product had more, smaller particles in the microscopic view, compared to the tofu made from surface and intermediate seawater coagulants. The deep seawater tofu product had the lowest viable cell counts and turbidity. In addition, the deep seawater tofu product had a longer extended shelf-life. From these results, deep seawater appears to improve the texture, taste, and shelf-life of tofu when used as a coagulant.

오렌지 과립 1차가공품의 저장성 (Storage Trial of Tentatively Thermal-processed Orange Sac)

  • 과립혼입 오렌지 쥬우스용 오렌지 과립을 대량 으로 1차 가공하여 중간제품으로 저장하면서 필요시에 완제품으로 제조할 수 있는 방안을 모색하기 위하여 오렌지 과립의 열처리 조건 및 포장방법별 저장중 품질변화와 완제품 제조에 따른 저장제품의 가공적성을 확인한 결과 5개월 이상 안전저장이 가능하였으며 포장후 살균공정과 고온충진공정에서의 가공방법별 차이는 없었고 포장방법에 따른 차이는 있어 관포장이 가장 좋았고 3겹파우치포장, 2 겹파우치포장 순이었다. 또한 쎄그먼트로 가공 저장하는 것이 과립으로 저장하는 것보다 우수하었으며 2겹파우치 포장을 제외한 모든 처리구에서 대조구(과립 저장초기에 가공한 과립혼입 쥬우스 완제품)보다 관능검사 결과가 좋게 나타나서 중간제품으로 저장하였다가 제조한 완제품이 품질면에서 더 좋다는 것을 확인하였다.

  • In this paper, we present multisample DSP coding technique for StarCore, SC 140 DSP. The multisample programming is a pipelining technique that exploits operand reuse both coefficients and variables within kernel. A coefficient or operand is loaded once from memory and then the value may be used by multiple ALUs. It is possible to evaluate one intermediate product from each of four output sample calculations in parallel . Therefore, parallelization has been achieved by processing multiple samples in parallel rather than multiple intermediate products belonging to only one sample. The benefits of decreasing the number of memory moves per sample is to increase the algorithm perforomance. In this paper, the multisample technique has been implemented in FIR filter calculation using Motorola StarCore DSP development tool.

BaTiO3의 습식 직접 합성(I) (A Study of BaTiO3 Synthesis by Direct Wet Process)

  • In this study we are going to develop the process of a synthesis about BaTiO3 at the room temperature. We use BaTiO3 as a high dielectric constant in many dielectric materials and more stable in the temperature, We need high temperature over 1300$^{\circ}C$ for the synthesis of BaTiO3 by the process of industrials and there are difficulty which synthesize a final products not to have a intermediate composition. So we studied to synthesize a pure BaTiO3 from the room temperature to 90$^{\circ}C$ and also to develop the process of synthesis which can control the particle size and which has the final product not to have a intermediate composition.

Laminopathies; Mutations on single gene and various human genetic diseases

  • Lamin A and its alternative splicing product Lamin C are the key intermediate filaments (IFs) of the inner nuclear membrane intermediate filament. Lamin A/C forms the inner nuclear mesh with Lamin B and works as a frame with a nuclear shape. In addition to supporting the function of nucleus, nuclear lamins perform important roles such as holding the nuclear pore complex and chromatin. However, mutations on the Lamin A or Lamin B related proteins induce various types of human genetic disorders and diseases including premature aging syndromes, muscular dystrophy, lipodystrophy and neuropathy. In this review, we briefly overview the relevance of genetic mutations of Lamin A, human disorders and laminopathies. We also discuss a mouse model for genetic diseases. Finally, we describe the current treatment for laminopathies.

Loss of HCN from the Pyrazine Molecular Ion: A Theoretical Study

  • The potential energy surface (PES) for the loss of HCN or HNC from the pyrazine molecular ion was determined based on quantum chemical calculations using the G3//B3LYP method. Four possible dissociation pathways to form four $C_3H_3N^{+{{\bullet}}$ isomers were examined. A Rice-Ramsperger-Kassel-Marcus quasi-equilibrium theory model calculation was performed to predict the dissociation rate constant and the product branching ratio on the basis of the obtained PES. The resultant rate constant for the HCN loss agreed with the previous experimental result. The kinetic analysis predicted that the formation of $CH=CHN{\equiv}CH^{+{\bullet}}+HCN$ was predominant, which occurred by three consecutive steps, a C-C bond cleavage to form a linear intermediate, a rearrangement to form an H-bridged intermediate, and elimination of HCN.

Design and Synthesis of New 4-Alkylthio Monocyclic β-Lactams

  • New types of monocyclic ${\beta}$-lactams constitute an important class of compounds due to their unique structures and natures. Here, the design and synthesis of new 4-alkylthio monocyclic ${\beta}$-lactams 2a and 3a are reported. Significantly, compounds 2a and 3a, while keeping a monocyclic system, were designed to contain all of the substructures provided by the cleavage of C(2)-C(3) bond in penicillins. Efficient synthetic pathways for compounds 2a and 3a were established based on two different strategies. Compound 2a was synthesized from raw materials, using 4-acetoxyazetidin-2-one as a key intermediate, through a ten-step synthetic sequence in 3% overall yield. Compound 3a was synthesized from potassium salt of penicillin G (17), using the degraded product 20 as a key intermediate, through a six-step synthetic sequence in 11% overall yield. 4-Alkylthioazetidin-2-one derivatives, introduced in this study, could serve as valuable intermediates for the development of new monocyclic ${\beta}$-lactams.

Theoretical Studies on the Gas-Phase Wittig-Oxy-Cope Rearrangement of Deprotonated Diallyl Ether

  • The Wittig-oxy-Cope rearrangements of deprotonated diallyl ether, I, $CH_2={\bar{C}}H-CH-O-CH_2-CH=CH_2$, have been investigated theoretically by the AM1 method. A two step mechanism forming a Wittig product ion, II, $(CH_2=CH)$ $(CH_2=CH-CH_2)$ $CHO^-$, through a radical-pair intermediate was found to provide the most favored reaction pathway in the Wittig rearrangement. The subsequent oxy-Cope rearrangement from species II also involves a two step mechanism through a biradicaloid intermediate. The intramolecular proton transfer in I (to form $CH_2=CH-CH_2-O-{\bar{C}}H-CH=CH_2$) is a higher activation energy barrier process compared to the Wittig and oxy-Cope rearrangements and is considered to be insignificant. These results are in good agreement with the condensed-phase as well as gas-phase experimental results.
