In the Korean construction market the housing exceeds more than 60％ among the entire objects for remodelling. And among the 50％ of the common residence that needs remodelling, half of them are common houses with hallways. In respect of remodelling the common houses with hallways to those with stairways, This investigation aims at not only increasing the area by simply enlarging it, but also elevating the residential value by improving the environment based on the study of the existing plane with stairways. In order to do so, the satisfaction rate after living in common residence either with stairways or with hallways according to size (10, 20, 30 pyong), public space and interior environment is investigated through questionnaire. Therefore, this study tries to discover and analyze the positive and negative aspects of common residence with hallways.

The purpose of this study was to examine the environmental characteristics of housing for the elderly preferred by different age groups. By age groups, the result of the study may be described as follows: 1. The young people and the middle aged wanted to live in self-contained unit, but the aged tended to live in the three-generation sharing house to spend their declining years in the future. 2. In the interior housing environment, all three age groups were highly interested in the security facilities than the interior space arrangements of planning of elderly housing. especially, the result of demand of the interior space arrangements in the young people was higher than the old age's. In the exterior housing environment, the garden si the most important space in establishing housing plan.

This study suggests the optimum interior environment by projecting the criteria to design the living space light-ing that select the lighting environment among the sever-al environmental factors that influenced on the human perception. As a correspondance between the visual perception and the lighting, visual perception process, vision system, and visual perception system are investigated to compre-hend the lighting, and then conceptual contour of the lighting environments are presented which are transmit-ted the visual informations. As a lighting factors which are influenced on the visu-al perception, light source color is analized. Foundationally, the effect of the lighting methods and the techniques are investigated, and the changes of the lighting methods which influences on the space perception are examined through the previous results. As the changing the light sources color, the changing the subjective feelings of space perception through the ex-periment. This study is concluded with the proposition of the ef-fective lighting and the importance of the lighting envi-ronment.

The quality of the environment, both natural and man-made, has unlimited influence on people's behavior and their physical and psychological well being. Interior designers shaped the indoor environment in which people live, work, perform day-to-day tasks and rest. Since designers affect a society's sensitivity and thinking, the aesthetics and ethics of the designs must respond to the most burning environmental issues of the contemporary world. This awareness is especially important now, at this critical time in the life of our planet, when humanity is facing twin catastrophes: natural resources depletion and environmental degradation. Under this concept, the purpose of this study is to configure what kind of design is ecologic and sustainable design and how we can develop ecological design as focusing on natural ventilation, natural lighting, uses of recycled materials, application of Indoor landscaping and architectural forms through several existing cases of the ecological office building.

The purpose of this research is to understand and explore the view of the current architectural and interior design approach through Critical Regionalism created as one of the movements opposed to Contemporary. Critical Regionalism as a critical view about the contemporary architecture is based on integrated critical thinking toward a built environment surrounded by regional facts such as natural environment, materials, light, weather, unique culture where exist the specific places. The architectural themes of Critical Regionalism based on Kenneth Frampton's view and interpretation about contemporary architecture can be understood as follows; the concept of the place, tectonics, expression by abstraction and phenomenologlcal interpretation. Critical Regionalism has two distinctive features, which are the connection to the Contemporary and critical aspects to develop processes of an architectural design.

This research is to understand the residents' responses and evaluation about their apartment interior environment and thereby to be used as the basix data for designing residential space environment of new apartment complex in Sanggae area. The specific obectives of research were 1) to examine the residents' vale and life style concerning several specific rooms, 2) to find out residents' evaluation on physical characteristics, and 3) to understand residents' preference and demand for characteristics of interior space. Research method used was personal interview using a structured questionnaire. Residents living in 13, 15, 18, 22, 25 pyung in three selected large apartment complex areas provided dada : 777 questionnalires were used for analysis. Data were analyzed using the SPSS computer package. The statistics used were frequency, percentage, mean, F-test, χ\sup 2\-test, Duncan's multiple range test, Pearson's correlation coefficient.

The true space is the physical world affected a gravity but the cyber space is the world that rise above physical status and show developed space. This study shows that the factors of objective valuation and the indicators for the behavior analysis. It is established that the structural design indicators using the simulation have 4 steps; The indicator of complex space, the diagram of cognitive image, is the analysis of emotion and stimulation, and the dependent variables. Moreover the indicator of complex space is illustrated the connection degree, the symmetry, the axis of sight, and the degree of space division. For the effective analysis, the simulation is to be made matched with the true environment. Thus the simulation has the capability of the objective and correct more than those of true architectural environment. And it could establish immediately the experimental data and response.

It is impossible to do real verification on design spaces before their completions due to the characteristics of building and interior space designs. So, in designing spaces, designers should reflect their real experiences in their lives into their design works. 3D games where GPU and other kinds of advanced technologies have bee applied first show their leads in technologies have bee applied first show their leads in technologies about 5 years than VRML. Those games which are produced reflecting real environment as it is could be regarded as the most excellent tool in their completeness level of physical environment due to their characteristics. This means that if 3D game engines employing GPU are used effectively they could be used as a presentation tool for virtual spaces. This study studies the expressions of virtual constructions through 3D game engines employing GPU, not in VRML-based virtual spaces on Webs but in immersion-type virtual spaces.

The purpose of this study is to extract the rage on exterior colors of Elementary schools in harmony with natural colors as the colors of sky and trees, of Which the colors is basically composing the natural environment. The theory of harmony in NCS relatively expressing the changed colors according to the color stimulation condition is the contrast of same color fit for the nature. NCS has a systematic open mind considering parts in the whole. The study suggests appropriate strategy for Eco-color scheme. The result shows that it's desirable to select YR Group in the elementray school of exterior color design, The Eco color planned by NCS is expected to clarify the interrelationship between children and environment. This practical use should be continuingly tried in the color design of interior for elementary schools.
