Based on the 4-compartmental pharmacokinetic model developed in PART1, target-controlled infusion(TCI) pump system was designed and evaluated. The TCI system consists of digital board including microcontroller and digital signal process(DSP), analog board, motor-driven actuator, user friendly interface, power management and controller. It provides two modes according to the drugs: plasma target concentration and effect target concentration. Anaesthetist controls the depth of anaesthesia for patients by adjusting the required concentration to maintain both plasma and effect site in drug concentration. The data estimated in DSP include infusion rate, initial load dose, and rotation number of motor encoder. During TCI operation, plasma concentration. effect site concentration, awaken concentration, context-sensitive decrement time and system error information are displayed in real time. Li-ion battery guarantees above 2 hours without power line failure. For high reliability of the system, two microprocessors were used to perform independent functions for both pharmacokinetic algorithm and motor control strategy.
The purpose of this research is on figuring out the optimal PID parameter using critical gain and critical frequency that are obtained by relay feedback. The operating has been done under the condition that the least information about the object plant is given and also the operating is processed within the limit which dose not give rise to bad influence on the object plant. For simulation auto-tuning PID controller using relay feedback which also works on on-line at the same time is developed by the upper procedure. This algorithm is tried to apply to level-temperature control plant on a real time with PC Interface Card.

A vehicle oversteered or cornering at excessive speed leaves tire yaw mark on the road surface. A yaw mark is a sign that the tire was sideslipping and exceeded its frictional limit because of centrifugal force. Problems exist with the traditional equation, “critical speed formula (CSF)”, that limits its practical use in traffic accident reconstruction. A major problem is that the equation dose not account for vehicle dynamics and interface between tire and road. The literature refers to that the accuracy of the critical speed formula varies with several factors. New equations that account for vehicle dynamics are introduced in this paper. A comparison of the accuracy of the new method and the traditional method in the calculation of speed is conducted.
Cu(400$\AA$)/Polyimide has been mixed with 80 keV Ar+ and N2+from 1.0X1015ions/$\textrm{cm}^2$ to 2.0X1016 ions/$\textrm{cm}^2$. The changes of chemical bond and internal properties of sample are investigated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS). The quantitative adhesion strength is measured by using scratch test. The optimized mixing condition is that Cu/PI is irradiated with 80 keV N2+ at a dose of 1.0X1015 ions/$\textrm{cm}^2$, because N2+ ions can product more pyridine-like moiety, amide group, and tertiary amine moiety which are known as adesion promoters than Ar+.
Dose rate regulated tracking is known to be an efficient method which adaptively delivers tracking treatments when patient breathing is irregular. The Motion Management Interface (MMI, Varian Medical System, CA), which provides beam on/off switching during treatment is available for clinic. Study is to test if delivering the adaptive tumor tracking is feasible for irregular breathing using beam switching with MMI. 55 free breathing RPM traces acquired from lung cancer patients are used. The first day RPM traces of the patients are utilized to design preprogrammed tracking MLC patterns, of which periods are intentionally reduced by 20% in order to catch up the variation of patient breathing irregularity in the treatment day. Eligibility criteria for this technique are the variation of amplitude and period less than 20%. An algorithm which determines beam on/off every 100 ms by considering the preprogrammed (MLC) positions and current breathing positions is developed. Tracking error and delivery efficacy are calculated by simulating the beam-switching adaptive tracking from the RPM traces. Breathing patterns of 38 patients (70%) met the eligibility criteria. Tracking errors of all of the cases who meet the criteria are less than 2 mm (average 1.4 mm) and the average delivery efficacy was 71%. Those of rest of the cases are 1.9 mm and 48%. Adaptive tracking with beam switching is feasible if patient selection is based on the eligibility criteria.
Hemodialysis vascular access dysfunction (HVAD) due to the aggressive development of venous neointimal hyperplasia remains a major complication for patients with synthetic arteriovenous grafts. Paclitaxel-coated expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) grafts effectively prevent neointimal hyperplasia and stenosis. However, perigraft inflammation or edema can be another complication of ePTFE grafts, preventing early cannulation. Three different types of ePTFE grafts, including grafts without paclitaxel coating (control group, n = 12), grafts with paclitaxel coating at a dose density of $0.61ug/mm^2$ (low concentration group, n = 12), and grafts with paclitaxel coating at a dose density of $1.15ug/mm^2$ (high concentration group, n = 12) were placed in the backs of 12 rabbits, simultaneously. Six rabbits were euthanized after one week and the remaining six were euthanized two weeks after implantation. Perigraft inflammation, graft wall inflammation, stromal cell proliferation, blood vessel formation, tissue necrosis and edema were analyzed for the grafts in each animal. Inflammation surrounding the paclitaxel-coated grafts was significantly reduced compared to the control group. Stromal cell layers were detected at the interface between the graft and the surrounding tissue in the control group, infiltrated into the graft interstices, and differentiated into myofibroblasts for graft healing. Paclitaxel-coated grafts inhibited stromal cell proliferation and infiltration into the graft wall. Tissue necrosis and edema were not detected in either of the paclitaxel-coated graft groups.

Disinfection of microorganisms using UV light is widely used in the field of water supply and wastewater treatment plant, In spite of high germicidal effect and relatively clean by-product, UV disinfection has fundamental defeat that is accumulation of fouling materials at the interface of water and lamp sleeve. Non-contact type of UV photoreactor which can avoid this fouling generation was developed and the experimental performance evaluation of the system was carried out in this study. Log inactivation rate of E. coli was selected as a disinfection index. The concentration of E. coli of second clarifier effluent was $8.2{\times}10^1-8.2{\times}10^3$ colony per mL and was well inactivated by the non-contact type of UV photoreactor. Under the UV intensity condition of $2.1-2.5mW/cm^2$, E. coli removal rate was observed in the range of 54 - 95% when the HRT was increased from 10 to 52 seconds. Experimental results showed that log inactivation of E. coli was proportional to UV dosage and $200mJ/cm^2$ of UV dose is expected for the 2.0 log inactivation of E. coli from the second clarifier effluent. Between the two parameters of UV intensity and contact time which are consist of UV dose, UV intensity was 4 times more effective than contact time.

Ultr shallow p$^{+}$-n junction with Co/Ti bilayer silicidde contact was formed by ion implantation of BF$_{2}$ [energy : (30, 50)keV, dose:($5{\times}10^{14}$, $5{\times}10^{15}$/$\textrm{cm}^2$] onto the n-well Si(100) region and by RTA-silicidation and post annealing of the evaporated Co(120.angs., 170.angs.)/Ti(40~50.angs.) double layer. The sheet resistance of the silicided p$^{+}$ region of the p$^{+}$-n junction formed by BF2 implantation with energy of 30keV and dose of $5{\times}10^{15}$/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and Co/Ti thickness of $120{\AA}$/(40~$50{\AA}$) was about $8{\Omega}$/${\box}$. The junction depth including silicide thickness of about $500{\AA}$ was 0.14${\mu}$. The fabricated p$^{+}$ -n ultra shallow junction depth including silicide thickness of about $500{\AA}$ was 0.14${\mu}$. The fabricated p$^{+}$-n ultra shallow junction with Co/Ti bilayer silicide contact did not show any agglomeration or variation of sheet resistance value after post annealing at $850^{\circ}C$ for 30 minutes. The boron concentration at the epitaxial CoSi$_{2}$/Si interface of the fabricated junction was about 6*10$6{\times}10^{19}$ / $\textrm{cm}^2$./TEX>.

Background: A hand-held detector for an emergency response was developed for nuclide identification and to estimate the information of the ambient dose rate in the scene of an accident as well as the radioactivity of the contaminants. Materials and Methods: To achieve this, the most suitable sensor was first selected as a cadmium zinc telluride (CZT) semiconductor and the signal processing unit from a sensor and the signal discrimination and storage unit were successfully manufactured on a printed circuit board. Results and Discussion: The performance of the developed signal processing unit was then evaluated to have an energy resolution of about 14 keV at 662 keV. The system control unit was also designed to operate the CZT detector, monitor the detector, battery, and interface status, and check and transmit the measured results of the ambient dose rate and radioactivity. In addition, a collimator, which can control the inner radius, and the airborne dust sampler, which consists of an air filter and charcoal filter, were developed and mounted to the developed CZT detector for the quick and efficient response of a nuclear accident. Conclusion: The hand-held CZT detector was developed to make the in-situ gamma-ray spectrometry and its performance was checked to have a good energy resolution. In addition, the collimator and the airborne dust sampler were developed and mounted to the developed CZT detector for a quick and efficient response to a nuclear accident.

The adhesion interface formation between copper and poly(ethylene terephthalate)(PET), poly(methyl methacrylate)(PMMA) and Polyimide films was treated using Ion assisted reaction system to sequential sputter deposition by High-Frequency ion source. The ion beam modification system used a new type of low power HF ion thruster for space application as new low thruster electric propulsion system. Low power HF ion thruster with diameter 100mm gives the opportunity to obtain beams of Ar+ with currents 20~150 mA (current density 0.5~3.5 mA/cm2) and energy 200~2500eV at HF power level 10~150 W. Using Ar as a working gas it is possible to obtain thrust within 3~8 mN. Contact angles for untreated films were over 95$^{\circ}$ and 80 for Pet, 10o for PMMA and 12o for PI samples as a condition of ion assisted reaction at the ion dose of 10$\times$1016 ions/cm2, the ion beam potential of 1.2 keV and 4 ml/min for environmental gas flow rate. 900o peel tests yielded values of 15 to 35 for PET, 18 to 40 and 12 to 36 g/min. respectively. High resolution X-ray photoelectron spectrocopy is the Cls region for Cu metal on these polymer substrates showed increases in C=O-O groups for polymide, whereas PET and PMMA treated samples showed only C=O groups with increase the ion dose. Finally, unstable polymer surface can be changed from hydrophobic to hydrophilic formation such as C-O and C=O that were confirmed by the XPS analysis, conclusionally, the ion assisted reaction is very effective tools to attach reactive ion species to form functional groups on C-C bond chains of PET, PMMA and PI.
