As quick and secure mobility service is becoming a critical issue in the ubiquitous environment. Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) has done a lot of meaningful work in order to cope with the critical issues, which is a key technology of guaranteeing the legally and safely using of network resources, they has proposed Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 (HMIPv6) to complement for such problems as handover latency and signaling overhead in existing MIPv6. Most of the current research about HMIPv6 focuses on how to optimize the interactive processes between the HMIPv6 and AAA (Authentication, Authorization, Accounting) protocol. This paper describes a cost-effective hierarchical authentication scheme, which makes its focus on minimizing the authentication latency in AAA processing. In this scheme, a hierarchical AAA architecture is proposed, in which the AAA servers are deployed on the Mobility Anchor Point (MAP), the Root AAA server manages several Leaf AAA servers and the Brokers on behalf of the AAA server in home domain. The simulation results shows that the proposed scheme reduces the handoff and authentication latency evidently compared to the previous traditional authentication combination modeling.
LNG storage in lined rock cavern demands various techniques concerned with rock mechanics, thermo-mechanics and hydrogeology in design, construction and maintenance stage. LNG pilot cavern was constructed in Daejeon in order to verify these techniques. In this paper, evaluation of drainage system and ice ring formation was studied by numerical simulation. By Modflow analysis in the viewpoint of aquifer and Seep/W analysis in the viewpoint of flow system, it was verified that the drainage system in the pilot cavern was efficiently operated. Since ice ring formation can be simulated by interactive relation between heat transfer and water flow, coupled analysis of those was performed. In this analysis, the position of ice ring was presumed and it was demonstrated that the formation is affected by velocity and direction of groundwater flow.

The HFC network has a architecture of a star topology in fiber optic trunks, and tree and branch topology is used in the part of coaxial cable. It is well known that the HFC upstream channel is noisy. Ingress, common mode distortion and impulse noise exist in the upstream channel. In order to provide Quality of Service(QoS) to users with real-time data such as voice, video and interactive services, the evolving IEEE 802.14 standard for HFC networks must include an effective priority scheme. The scheme separates and resolves collisions between stations in a priority order. It is important to simulate protocols under a practical environment. The proposed algorithm in this paper is simulated with the assumption that the collision detector made certain mistake due to noises. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm is more efficient than existing tree-based algorithm under practical environment.
Interest about social security has recently increased in favor of safety for infrastructure. In addition, advances in computer vision and pattern recognition research are leading to video-based surveillance systems with improved scene analysis capabilities. However, such video surveillance systems, which are controlled by human operators, cannot actively cope with dynamic and anomalous events, such as having an invader in the corporate, commercial, or public sectors. For this reason, intelligent surveillance systems are increasingly needed to provide active social security services. In this study, we propose a core technique for intelligent surveillance system that is based on swarm robot technology. We present techniques for invader enclosing using swarm robots based on multiple distributed object environment. The proposed methods are composed of three main stages: location estimation of the object, specified object tracking, and decision of the cooperative behavior of the swarm robots. By using particle filter, object tracking and location estimation procedures are performed and a specified enclosing point for the swarm robots is located on the interactive positions in their coordinate system. Furthermore, the cooperative behaviors of the swarm robots are determined via the result of path navigation based on the combination of potential field and wall-following methods. The results of each stage are combined into the swarm robot-based invader-enclosing technique on multiple distributed object environments. Finally, several simulation results are provided to further discuss and verify the accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed techniques.

The interest in the Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology has risen remarkably due to the effects on construction work period reduction, cost reduction, work safety improvement, and other factors. In civil engineering field, BIM applications mainly focus on data modeling and virtual construction. In this study, we present the BIM-based virtual construction and analyze the effects of BIM for the railway facilities so that the conventional approach to the equipment operation plan can be improved in order to prevent safety accidents which can result from unclear information during the operation plan. The BIM-based virtual construction technology is applied to establish the construction plan for the site with constraints, the installation of steel girder needs to be completed, avoiding interference with the existing high-speed railway operation within a given limited time. A virtual construction model consisting of topography, structures, equipments, and avatar was built and more detailed model, including safety guard rails, was then created. Specifications of the construction equipment were input as a database, and the virtual construction model was manipulated in the equipment operation planning. Through the BIM-based virtual construction, including the verification of alternative construction method, 311 million won was saved and the construction period was shortened by 87 days compared to the original plan. In addition, it was shown that the interest and participation of the construction workers can be increased by providing the 3D virtual scene for real construction work and various safety hazards occurring during equipment operation can be effectively removed in advance by the interactive worker education.
Due to the continuing technical progress in the capabilities of modeling, simulation, and sensor devices, huge volume data with very high resolution are common. In scientific visualization, various interactive real-time techniques on high performance parallel computers to effectively render such large scale volume data sets have been proposed. In this paper, we present a mobile volume visualization system that consists of mobile clients, gateways, and parallel rendering servers. The mobile clients allow to explore the regions of interests adaptively in higher resolution level as well as specify rendering / viewing parameters interactively which are sent to parallel rendering server. The gateways play a role in managing requests / responses between mobile clients and parallel rendering servers for stable services. The parallel rendering servers visualize the specified sub-volume with rendering contexts from clients and then transfer the high quality final images back. This proposed system lets multi-users with PDA simultaneously share commonly interesting parts of huge volume, rendering contexts, and final images through CSCW(Computer Supported Cooperative Work) mode.
State-space method for the analysis of the dynamic characteristics of a body motion is set up as mathematical tool for the solution of differential equation by computer. Representation of a system is described as a simple form of matrix calculation and unique form of model is available for the linear or nonlinear, time variant or time invariant, mono variable or multi variable system etc. For the analysis of state-space method a complicated vector calculation is required, but this analysis can be simplified with the specific functions of a software package. Recently as the Graphical User Interface softwares are well-developed, then it is very simplified to execute the simulation of the dynamic characteristics for the state-space model with the interactive graphics treatment. The purpose of this study is to developed the simulator for the educational analysis of the dynamic characteristics of body motion, and for the analysis of the longitudinal dynamic characteristics of an aircraft that is primarily to design the simulator for the analysis of the transient response of an aircraft longitudinal stability.
In spite that the main contents of mathematical and scientific learning are understanding principles and their applications, most of existing educational softwares are based on rote learning, thus resulting in limited educational effects. In the artificial intelligence research, some progress has been made in developing automatic tutors based on proving and simulation, by adapting the techniques of knowledge representation, search and inference to the design of tutors. However, these tutors still fall short of being practical and the turor, even a prototype model, for learning problem solving is yet to come out. The geometry problem-solving tutor proposed by this research involves dynamic inference performed in parallel with learning. As an ontology for composing the problem space within a real-time setting, we have employed the notions of propositions, hypotheses and operators. Then we investigated the mechanism of interactive learning of problem solving in which the main target of inference involves the generation and the test of these components. Major accomplishment from this research is a practical model of a problem tutor embedded with a series of inference techniques for algebraic manipulation, which is indispensable in geometry problem solving but overlooked by previous research. The proposed model is expected to be applicable to the design of problem tutors in other scientific areas such as physics and electric circuitry.
An integrated water resources management is highly required to use efficient water and preserve water quality due to the limits of water resources development and water pollution. K-WEAP was developed, which supports the water resources planning and evaluation within a fully integrated interactive system. In this study, we present three applications of K-WEAP. First, we examined the usefulness of K-WEAP as a water resources planning tool through its application to the National Water Resources Plan. Second, the conjunctive use of surface water and groundwater in the Geum river basin with K-WEAP was evaluated, and its results show how to support to set up a sustainable groundwater management plan. Finally, we confirmed the function of the integrated water quantity and quality management in K-WEAP, which conducted by comparing the simulated results of water quality in both QUAL2E and K-WEAP.

To detect islanding mode when the grid is being tripped is a major safety issue in the Utility Interactive Photo Voltaic (UIPV) system. In this paper, analytical design method is suggested for AFD & RPV method under IEEE 929-2000 recommended islanding test condition. We have discussed that there is a same point. we injected reactive component of the current by AFD & RPV methods, but the current reference generated is other waveform. Possible if amount of reactive components in this methods are same each method, there is happened same rates frequency variation. To verify the validity of the analytical comparison, this paper presents simulation and experimental results from single phase, 3[kW] inverter for the transformerless UIPV system.
