  • The current LTE network system provides service by locally allocating eNodeB to the EPC(Evolved Packet Core). However, it is not suitable for inter-node communication based on the distributed network environment. In this paper, we propose an integrated system by configuring E-UTRAN and EPC as All-In-One type to enable service in each distributed node. M2M UE is mounted on a each node for wireless In-band backhaul link. The integrated node provides inter-node communication over the wireless in-band backhaul link. If a normal UE moves and an access node changes in the system all entities of LTE integrated into one, it is necessary to change the P-GW which is IP anchor. In order to support the inter-node mobility even if P-GW is changed, We defined UPFE(User Packet Forwarding Extension) scheme and implemented the handover procedure of EPC. Also, we analyze the cell range of the integrated LTE system with the addition of the node and compare the handover delay with the current system.

  • Globally, the emergence of smart phones vitalized the ecosystem of mobile data service industry. Consequentially, mobile data traffic has been explosively growing and the speed of growth will be more steep. New spectrum will be required in order to properly accommodate the explosively growing mobile data traffic. However, it will be difficult to acquire a sufficient guard band between different frequency bands because the range of frequency which is suitable for wireless communications is limited. Thus, the performance degradation caused by inter-band interference will be one of challenging problems in the next generation mobile communication systems. In this paper, we analyze the performance degradation caused by inter-band interference by computer simulations in various environments. Our results show that the impact of the inter-band interference is more critical when own signal is poor or its own interference from neighboring cells is low.

  • In this paper, we investigate the problem of achieving global optimization for distributed carrier aggregation (CA) in small cell networks, using a game theoretic solution. To cope with the local interference and the distinct cost of intra-band and inter-band CA, we propose a non-cooperation game which is proved as an exact potential game. Furthermore, we propose a spatial adaptive play learning algorithm with heterogeneous learning parameters to converge towards NE of the game. In this algorithm, heterogeneous learning parameters are introduced to accelerate the convergence speed. It is shown that with the proposed game-theoretic approach, global optimization is achieved with local information exchange. Simulation results validate the effectivity of the proposed game-theoretic CA approach.

  • A Q-band pHEMT image-rejection low-noise amplifier (IR-LNA) is presented using inter-stage tunable resonators. The inter-stage L-C resonators can maximize an image rejection by functioning as inter-stage matching circuits at an operating frequency ($F_{OP}$) and short circuits at an image frequency ($F_{IM}$). In addition, it also brings more wideband image rejection than conventional notch filters. Moreover, tunable varactors in L-C resonators not only compensate for the mismatch of an image frequency induced by the process variation or model error but can also change the image frequency according to a required RF frequency. The implemented pHEMT IR-LNA shows 54.3 dB maximum image rejection ratio (IRR). By changing the varactor bias, the image frequency shifts from 27 GHz to 37 GHz with over 40 dB IRR, a 19.1 dB to 17.6 dB peak gain, and 3.2 dB to 4.3 dB noise figure. To the best of the authors' knowledge, it shows the highest IRR and $F_{IM}/F_{OP}$ of the reported millimeter/quasi-millimeter wave IR-LNAs.

  • How the different thickness of thin films of black-P has an effect on its electronic band structure and structure has been studied by using SIESTA code. Although the interaction between the thin films has something to do with band reduction, it does not affect the inter-atomic distance between two nearest neighbour puckered layers.

  • This paper proposes a dry-type surface myoelectric sensor for the myoelectric hand prosthesis. The designed surface myoelectric sensor is composed of skin interface and processing circuits. The skin interface has one reference and two input electrodes, and the reference electrode is located in the center of two input electrodes. In this paper is proposed two types of sensors with the circle- and bar-shaped reference electrode, but all input electrodes are the bar-shaped. The metal material of the electrodes is the stainless steel (SUS440) that endures sweat and wet conditions. Considering the conduction velocity and the median frequency of the myoelectric signal, the inter-electrode distance (IED) between two input electrodes as 18mm, 20mm, and 22mm is selected. The signal processing circuit consists of a differential amplifier with a band pass filter, a band rejection filter for rejecting 60Hz power-line noise, amplifiers, and a mean absolute value(MAV) circuit. Using SUS440, six prototype skin interface with different reference electrode shape and IED is fabricated, and their output characteristics are evaluated by output signal obtained from the forearm of a healthy subject. The experimental results show that the skin interface with parallel bar shape and the 18mm IED has a good output characteristics. The fabricated dry-type surface myoelectric sensor is evaluated for the upper-limb amputee.

  • In this article, new microstrip slow-wave bandpass filters using open loop resonator loaded with inter-digital capacitive fingers is proposed. The filter features not only compact in size, but also exhibits spurious stop-band rejection. Filters of this type with elliptic function and Chebyshev response are demonstrated. There is good agreement between experimental and full-wave electromagnetic (EM) simulation results.

  • In this study, we constructed a visual sensor system for weld seam tracking in real time in GMA welding. A sensor part consists of a CCD camera, a band-pass filter, a diode laser system with a cylindrical lens, and a vision board for inter frame process. We used a commercialized robot system which includes a GMA welding machine. To extract the weld seam we used a inter frame process in vision board from that we could remove the noise due to the spatters and fume in the image. Since the image was very reasonable by using the inter frame p개cess, we could use the simplest way to extract the weld seam from the image, such as first differential and central difference method. Also we used a moving average method to the successive position data or weld seam for reducing the data fluctuation. In experiment the developed robot system with visual sensor could be able to track a most popular weld seam. such as a fillet-joint, a V-groove, and a lap-joint of which weld seam include planar and height directional variation.

  • In this thesis, we analyze performance related to reduction scheme of inter-cell interference causing serious problems in portable internet system. Frequency reusing factor(FUF) is 1 in portable internet system, and it means that a adjacent cell uses same frequency band. This channel environment raises inter-cell interference problem, which provokes serious problems related to system performance and channel capacity. Consequently, it affects deterioration in system performance as a whole. We analyze inter-cell interference when appling a various schemes such as (DCA)Dynamic Channel Allocation, CS(Channel Segregation), IDMA(Interleave Division Multiple Access), FH-OFDM, CRSA(Conceptual Random Subcarrier Allocation), and HDD

  • It is known that gamma-band activity (GBA) and phase synchrony (GBPS) are induced by emotional visual stimuli. However, the characteristics of GBA and GBPS according to different emotional states have not been identified. The purpose of this study is to investigate the changes in gamma-band neuronal synchronization induced by positive and negative emotional visual stimuli using electroencephalograms (EEGs). Thirteen healthy male subjects have participated in the experiment. The induced spectral power in gamma-band was the highest for negative stimuli, and the lowest for neutral stimuli in 300-2,000 ms after the stimulus onset. The inter-regional phase synchronization in gamma-band was increased in 500-2,000 ms, mainly between the bilateral frontal regions and the parieto-occipital regions. Larger number of significant connections were found by negative stimuli compared to positive ones. Judging from temporal and spatial characteristics of the gamma-band activity and phase synchrony increases, the results may imply that affective visual stimuli cause stronger memory encoding than non-emotional stimuli, and this effect is more significant for negative emotional stimuli than positive ones.
