  • The logic-based scheduling language RCPSV may be used to model resource-constrained project scheduling problems with variants for minimizing the project completion time. A diagram-based, nonredundant enumeration algorithm for the RCPSV-problem is proposed and the correctness of the algorithm is proved.

  • In this paper, we propose a new approach to intelligent motion and autonomous maneuvering of mobile robots using hybrid system. In high Level, the discrete states are defined by using the sensor-based search windows and the reference motions of a mobile robot as a low vevel are specified in the abstracted motions, The mobile robots can perform both the motion planning and autonomous maneuvering with obstacle avoidance in indoor navigation problem. Simulation and experimental results show that hybrid system approach is an effective method for the autonomous maneuvering in indoor environments.

  • One of the challenging problems in dynamic scene analysis is the correspondence problem. Points and lines have been two major entities for establishing the correspondence among suxcessive frmes and gave rise to discrete approach to dynamic scene analysis. SOme researchers take continuous approach to analyse the motion. There it is usually assumed that some sort of region correspondence has already been established. In this paper, we propose a method based on fuzzy membership function for solving region correspondence problem.

  • Various forms of hardware alternatives exist for the implementation of fuzzy logic controllers. In this paper, we describe a systematic framework for realizing fuzzy heuristics on programmable-logic-devices. Our approach is suitable for the automated development of fuzzy logic controllers.

  • A new technique using integer programming based on fuzzy multi-criteria function is proposed for generator maintenance scheduling. Minimization maintenance delay cost and maximization reserve power are considered for fuzzy multi-criteria function. To obtain an optimal solution for generator maintenance scheduling under fuzzy environment, fuzzy multi-criteria integer programming is used. In the maintenance scheduling, a characteristic feature of the presented approach is that the crisp constraints with uncertainty can be taken into account by using fuzzy set theory and so more flexible solution can be obtained. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is demonstrated by the simulation results.

  • Intelligent Space is a space where many sensors and intelligent devices are distributed. Mobile robots exist in this space as physical agents, which provide human with services. To realize this, human and mobile robots have to approach each other as much as possible. Moreover, it is necessary for them to perform interactions naturally. Thus, it is desirable for a mobile robot to carry out human-affnitive movement. In this research, a mobile robot is controlled by the Intelligent Space through its resources. The mobile robot is controlled to follow walking human as stably and precisely as possible.

  • We suggest a method which reduces the search space of a model-base on multiple-view approach for polyhedral object recognition using the ART-1 neural network. In this approach, the model-base is consisted of extracted features from two-dimensional projections observed at the predetermined viewpoints of a viewing sphere enclosing the object.

  • In this paper, we propose an approach to identify the driving environment for intelligent highway vehicles by means of image processing and computer vision techniques. The proposed approach mainly consists of two consecutive computational steps. The first step is the lane marking detection, which is used to identify the location of the host vehicle and road geometry. In this step, related standard image processing techniques are adapted for lane-related information. In the second step, by using the output from the first step, a four-stage algorithm for vehicle detection is proposed to provide information on the relative position and speed between the host vehicle and each preceding vehicle. The proposed approach has been validated in several real-world scenarios. Herein, experimental results indicate low false alarm and low false dismissal and have demonstrated the robustness of the proposed detection approach.

  • Frauds detection is a difficult problem, requiring huge computer resources and complicated search activities Researchers have struggled with the problem. Even though a fee research approaches have claimed that their solution is much better than others, research community has not found 'the best solution'well fitting every fraud. Because of the evolving nature of the frauds. a novel and self-adapting method should be devised. In this research a new approach is suggested to solving frauds in insurance claims credit card transaction. Based on evolutionary computing approach, the method is itself self-adjusting and evolving enough to generate a new self of decision-makin rules. We believe that this new approach will provide a promising alternative to conventional ones, in terms of computation performance and classification accuracy.
