This paper presents an asymptotic formation control scheme for a group of underactuated autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) where only three control inputs - surge force, yaw moment and pitch moment are available for each vehicle's six degree of freedom (DOF) underwater motion. Usually, the dynamics agents applied in most of the formation algorithms presented so far have been modeled as particle systems, which is a simple double-integrator system. Therefore, these algorithms cannot be directly applicable to the practical systems, especially to the underwater vehicles whose dynamics are highly nonlinear. Moreover, the vehicles considered in this paper are underactuated. The formation control is derived using general potential function method, and the corresponding potential function consists of two parts: interactions between vehicles and virtual-leader following. Proposed formation scheme guarantees asymptotic local stability of closed-loop system. Numerical simulations are carried out to illustrate the effectiveness of proposed formation scheme.

A new technique for detecting parametric faults in mixed signal circuits is proposed Pseudo-random sequence from linear feedback shift register(LFSR) is fed to circuit-under-test (CUT) as stimulus and wavelets are used to compact the transient response under this stimulus into a small number of signature. Wavelet based scheme decomposes the transient response into a number of signal in different frequency bands. Each decomposed signal is compacted into a signature using digital integrator. The digital pulses from LFSR, owing to its pseudo-randomness property, are almost uniform in frequency domain, which generates multi-frequency response when passed through CUT. The effectiveness of this technique is demonstrated in our experimental results.
Plants are frequently exposed to numerous environmental stresses such as dehydration and high salinity, and have developed elaborate mechanisms to counteract the deleterious effects of stress. The phytohormone abscisic acid (ABA) plays a critical role as an integrator of plant responses to water-limited condition to activate ABA signal transduction pathway. Although perception of ABA has been suggested to be important, the function of each ABA receptor remains elusive in dehydration condition. Here, we show that ABA receptor, pyrabactin resistance-like protein 8 (PYL8), functions in dehydration conditions. Transgenic plants overexpressing PYL8 exhibited hypersensitive phenotype to ABA in seed germination, seedling growth and establishment. We found that hypersensitivity to ABA of transgenic plants results in high degrees of stomatal closure in response to ABA leading to low transpiration rates and ultimately more vulnerable to drought than the wild-type plants. In addition, high expression of ABA maker genes also contributes to altered drought tolerance phenotype. Overall, this work emphasizes the importance of ABA signaling by ABA receptor in stomata during defense response to drought stress.

In this paper, we proposed an air bearing stage with active magnetic preloads in vertical directions compensating motion errors and attenuating vibrations to improve dynamic characteristics. This preloaded design gives simpler configuration of the stage, and active control of preload can be used for compensating motion errors by feedforward method. To improve dynamic characteristics, vibration of the table is monitored by an accelerometer, and controlled by a DSP based digital controller with integrator and band pass filters for suppressing roll and pitch vibration modes. The modes were evaluated by measuring frequency response functions, and compared with compensated responses. This showed effective results for suppressing poorly damped regenerative vibration of air bearings.

This paper described a voice dialing system(VDS) and its hardware implementation for a speaker-dependent recognition of Korean digit speech using duty cycle. The proposed VDS consist of integrator, leveling divider circuit and recognition program. The analog speech signal is applied to the VDS through the low-pass filter cutoff frequency is 4.5(kHz). It is thoroughly confirmed that the speaker-dependent recognition of Korean digit speech is well behaved by the hardware system. Experimental results show that the recognition rate is 64% in average for Korean digit speech. Moreover, a high recognition rate of 100% is obtained for digits; /4/, /5/, /6/, /7/, /9/, /0/.
In this paper, a new continuous-time bandpass active filter for lour-voltage applications is proposed. The active filter is composed of the CMOS complementary cascode circuit which can increase trans-conductance of an active element. These results are verified through the 0.25$\mu\textrm{m}$ CMOS n-well parameter hspice simulation. As a result, the gain and the unity gain frequency is 42dB and 200MHz respectively in the integrator. Additionally, center frequency of the bandpass active filter is 747kHz. And also bandwidth of the filter is 649kHz on 2V supply voltage.
CMOS analog lowpass filters using speech signal bandwidth for a Asymmetrical Digital Subscriver Line(ADSL) modem are presented. Designed active lowpass filters are composed of the CMOS complementary high-swing cascode stage which can increase transconductance of an active element. As a result, their cutoff frequency are 138kHz and 1,100kHz respectively. A low-voltage high-swing cascode integrator which improved on a gain and unit gain frequency used to design the filters. The designed filters are verified by HSPICE simulation with the $0.251{\mu}m\;CMOS\;n-well$ Parameter and a single 2.5V power supply.
Small distributed generation units are usually connected to the main electric grid through single-phase voltage source inverters. Grid operating conditions such as voltage and frequency are not constant and can fluctuate within the range values established by international standards. Furthermore, the requirements in terms of power factor correction, total harmonic distortion, and reliability are getting tighter day by day. As a result, the implementation of reliable and efficient control algorithms, which are able to adjust their control parameters in response to changeable grid operating conditions, is essential. This paper investigates the configuration topology and control algorithm of a single-phase inverter with the purpose of achieving high performance in terms of efficiency as well as total harmonic distortion of the output current. Accordingly, a Second Order Generalized Integrator with a suitable Phase Locked Loop (SOGI-PLL) is the basis of the proposed current and voltage regulation. Some practical issues related to the control algorithm are addressed, and a solution for the control architecture is proposed, based on resonant controllers that are continuously tuned on the basis of the actual grid frequency. Further, intentional islanding operation is investigated and a possible procedure for switching from grid-tied to islanding operation and vice-versa is proposed.

The principal reason for the backscattering in an optical fiber is the Rayleigh scattering which is caused by non-uniform density of structure material of an optical fiber and diameter variations of the optical fiber-core along an optical fiber axis. The backscattering signal which is detected by the optical time domain reflectometer system(O.T.D.R) conatains information about both tha actual decay of power and the diameter variation along the optical fiber. In this paper, the O.T.D.R. system with 2x2 fiber directional coupler, timing control unit and gated integrator is used to measure diameter variations of an optical fiber.
A multiple classification system based on a new boosting technique has been approached utilizing different biometric traits, that is, color face, iris and eye along with fingerprints of right and left hands, handwriting, palm-print, gait (silhouettes) and wrist-vein for person authentication. The images of different biometric traits were taken from different standard databases such as FEI, UTIRIS, CASIA, IAM and CIE. This system is comprised of three different super-classifiers to individually perform person identification. The individual classifiers corresponding to each super-classifier in their turn identify different biometric features and their conclusions are integrated together in their respective super-classifiers. The decisions from individual super-classifiers are integrated together through a mega-super-classifier to perform the final conclusion using programming based boosting. The mega-super-classifier system using different super-classifiers in a compact form is more reliable than single classifier or even single super-classifier system. The system has been evaluated with accuracy, precision, recall and F-score metrics through holdout method and confusion matrix for each of the single classifiers, super-classifiers and finally the mega-super-classifier. The different performance evaluations are appreciable. Also the learning and the recognition time is fairly reasonable. Thereby making the system is efficient and effective.
