  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of the integrated atmosphere environmental education program on environmental attitudes for 5th graders in elementary school. The major results of this study were as follows. First, the developed atmosphere environmental education program had a positive effect on environmental attitudes of elementary students. Second, it also had a positive effect on their interest and desire of atmosphere environment issues. Third, it had a positive correlation among the 3 subdomains of cognitive, affective and behavioral. In conclusion, the atmosphere environmental education program is more directly effective than lectures on environment following the curriculum to improve students' attitudes toward environment. Therefore, it is required that more systematic research should be done linking with teaching and learning methods, as a follow-up activity.

  • According to trends in scientific technical competition, many countries around the world are interested in and focused on the STEAM integrated education. By observing the fact that the goal of our country's science education is to cultivate creative workers who have scientific knowledge, the need for STEAM integrated education cannot be denied. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to develop the STEAM integrated program focused on themes that considered activities and interest in the grade 6 science subject in order to identify its influence on the creativity and interest levels of elementary students. The STEAM integrated education program in this study was developed so that it can be applied as a unit review or reinforcement activities in the closing activities per unit in grade 6. The focus was placed on heightening students' creativity and interest in science subject learning through a program focused on activities per theme. As a result of applying the developed STEAM integrated program in prior and post conditions on 3 elementary school's students in J Province, it was discovered that significant improvement was found in the creativity and scientific interest of elementary students in the experimental group, compared to the control group. Therefore, continuous and systematic development of the STEAM integrated education program is required, and moreover, it must be developed for all elementary grade levels and efforts should be put into actively applying the program in the field of education.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to develop and to determine the effects of an integrated symptom management program for prevention of recurrent cardiac events after percutaneous coronary intervention. Methods: Subjects consisted of 58 CAD patients (experimental group: 30, control group: 28). The experimental group participated in an integrated symptom management program for 6 months which was composed of tailored education, stress management, exercise, diet, deep breathing, music therapy, periodical telephone monitoring and a daily log. The control group received the usual care. Results: The experimental group significantly decreased symptom experiences and the level of LDL compared to the control group. The experimental group significantly increased self care activity and quality of life compared to the control group. Although no significant difference was found in cardiac recurrence, the experimental group had fewer recurrences. Conclusion: These results suggest that an integrated symptom management program for prevention of recurrent cardiac events after percutaneous coronary intervention can improve symptom aggravation, recurrent rate, self care activity and quality of life. Nursing interventions are needed to maintain and further enhance the quality of life of these patients and the interventions should be implemented in the overall transition period.

  • An antibody layer was fabricated to detect Escherichia coli O157:H7. The micropattern of 16-mercaptohexadecanoic acid (16-MHDA) as alkylthiolate was formed on the gold surface by using the PDMS stamp with microcontact printing $({\mu}CP)$ techniques. In order to form antibody patterns on the template, protein G was chemically bound to the 16-MHDA patterns, and antibody was adsorbed on a self-assembled protein G layer. The formation of the 16-MHDA micropattern, self-assembled protein G layer and antibody pattern on Au substrate was confirmed by surface plasmon resonance (SPR) spectroscopy. Finally, the micropatterning method was applied to fabricate the antibody probe for detection of E. coli O157:H7, and monitoring of antigen by using this probe was successfully achieved.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to determine the effects of a 'Customized Integrated Health Care Program' for male living alone in a single region and assist health promotion of the participants. Methods: This study was one-group pretest-posttest design. Eleven participants in the 'Happy Cooking Class for Male Living Alone' who made 100% of attendance from February 18 to September 8, 2016 were analyzed. Nonparametric paired T-test was performed to determine the differences in Blood pressure(BP), Blood sugar(BS), Cholesterol, Hemoglobin(Hb), Dementia screening test, Depression screening test of the participants in the Customized Integrated Health Care Program. Results: After applying the 'Customized Integrated Health Care Program', Hb level(z=-2.724, p=.006) and Dementia screening test(z=-1.974, p=.048) increased statistically significantly. Conclusion: As the elderly living alone increase in number, it seems that social support networks and health care programs contribute to health promotion of the participants and positively affect the rest of their life.

  • Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, $NAD^+$, and its reduced form, NADH, play important roles as coenzymes in many enzymatic reactions. Electrochemical methods for $NAD^+$ or NADH detection or generation are drawn attention because it can provide the simple and low cost platform with fairly good sensitivity. In this study, the polysiloxane viologen polymer/diaphorase/hydrophilic polyurethane (PSV/DI/HPU) modified electrodes were simply prepared and demonstrated for bio-electrocatalytic $NAD^+$ sensors. The electrodes were co-immobilized with diaphorase and polysiloxane viologen polymer as an electron mediator followed by the overcoating with HPU membrane. The mixture of the enzyme and the electron mediator was well stabilized within HPU membrane and exhibited good reversibility and stability. The sensitivity was 0.2 $nA{\cdot}{\mu}M^{-1}$ and the detection limit was 28 ${\mu}M$ with a response time of 50 s ($t_{90%}$). The capability for NADH sensor was also observed on the PSV/DI/HPU electrode.

  • Teaching with technology has been widespread in practical classroom settings, and increased the needs to enhance pre-service teachers' capability with a variety of technologies. The purpose of this study is focused on designing and implementing a training program to develop pre-service teachers' Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge(TPACK) which promotes them use technologies tactically in integrated science classes. Based on the theoretical framework of TPACK and Practitioner's Guide to TPACK, the authors developed ten periods of lessons comprised instructional skills in elementary science education. Subsequently, the program was applied into a teacher trainee course in Korea. The results of this study indicate that the TPACK training program for pre-service teachers significantly influenced on attitude toward convergence, TPACK, and science teaching efficacy of the engaged participants. The developed program, meanwhile, caused a significant TPACK improvement of female participants of the teachers college more effectively. Furthermore, it mitigated the gap between science and humanity tracks coming from their high schools. Consequently, there are possibilities to improve pre-service teachers' teaching strategies for integrated classes, if they have opportunities to review the comprehensibility of technological, pedagogical, content knowledge, and intersected areas with metacognitive perspectives.

  • Purpose : This study examined the effects of an integrated management program on physical function, cognitive function, and depression in patients with subacute stroke. Methods : A nonequivalent control group design was adopted. The participants were assigned to either the experimental group (n=20) or control group (n=23). The experimental group received an 8-week integrated management program and standard rehabilitation service (i.e., physical therapy and occupational therapy), while the control group received the standard rehabilitation service only. Physical function was measured as gait speed and balance ability using the Berg Balance Scale (BBS). Cognitive function was measured with neuro-behavioral cognitive status examination (NCSE), and depression was measured using the Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II). Repeated measure ANOVA was used to determine changes in physical function, cognitive function, and depression over 8-weeks. Results : The interaction between group and time was significant, indicating that the experimental group showed improvement in gait speed, balance ability, cognitive function (linguistic ability, linguistic memory, reasoning), and a decrease in depression compared to the control group. Conclusion : These results indicate that the integrated management program developed herein was beneficial in restoring physical function, cognitive function, and depression in subacute stroke patients.
