  • The regeneration of Incheon Inner Port is a recent, representative case of conflict related to urban policies. This study aimed to analyze the conflicts that have arisen during the urban regeneration process. This study was a qualitative study, and the conflict management strategy was derived by analyzing the conflict process, subject, and content. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, central governmental agencies have proposed a clear plan that is mainly focused on the port redevelopment project through the participation of private sector businesses. Second, Incheon is pursuing a new vision called "Creative City" with specific urban regeneration. Third, the Incheon Port Authority is required to maximize the efficiency of the regeneration projects. Fourth, organizations such as port logistics companies and port trade unions are demanding the use of port space. Fifth, local residents and civic groups insist that the entire Inner Harbor should be returned to the citizens. Therefore, the establishment of city planning and administrative guidelines is necessary to manage Incheon Inner Harbor and surrounding areas in a desirable manner in order to develop a regeneration philosophy for Incheon Inner Harbor. • This study was started by recognizing that visual storytelling(VST) is an important factor that determines the success of the work. The goal of this study is to analyze the VST study approaching from the narrative and visual dimension by analyzing the conflict intensity and VST factor. Therefore, in this paper, we analyzed the conflicts of the theater animation(4) that succeeded in the worldwide success and attempted the VST interpretation by approaching it technically. The results and contents of the study are as follows. Firstly, based on the narrative theory of Sung bong-Sun and Robert McKee, we classified the conflict scenes and found the kinds of conflicts. In addition, based on the 5B model, a total of 108 conflict shots were extracted. Secondly, through expert experiment, we found the conflict intensity of conflict shots. Thirdly, the visual elements of fifteen significant conflicts were extracted from internal and super individual conflicts. Fourth, as a result of the experiment, it was confirmed that the reliability of the visual elements in the inner and super personal conflicts was in the range of 100-83.33%, and the frequency of usage was found to be widely distributed in 5.88-70.59% and 5-70%. This means that the VST expression, which relied on the sense of the artist, can be engineered. Finally, I expect that it will be the basis of the development of the VST Tool which can predict the conflict expression of the work in the animation pre - production stage successfully.

  • Although there are some challenges to a view of science teaming as conceptual change, the view still occupies an important position in science teaming and teaching. Conceptual change theory implies that students' conceptions need to be exchanged for the new science conceptions. This was at the heart of conceptual change theory of Posner et al. (1982). According to this theory, cognitive conflict is known as an important factor in conceptual change even though there is still a controversial on effects on science teaming. This study is intended to interpret the cognitive conflict from cybernetics' perspective and explain difficulties of conceptual change which students have in teaming science and the conditions of conceptual change.

  • Purpose: To study the internal psychological conflicts among nursing students during an infection control protocol carried out in the hospital by measuring their observation skills and performance during clinical training. Methods: Investigation of both pre- and post- infection control was conducted using questionnaires for clinical infection practices. We identified and evaluated the students' observation skills, clinical performance, clinical perception, and internal conflict regarding clinical infection control. We also interviewed the students as part of our study. Results: Among parameters such as clinical performance, observation skills, clinical perception, and internal conflict, the average observation skills (t=5.49, p<.001) were significantly lower, while internal conflict among students (t=-7.23, p<.001) was significantly higher than expected prior to clinical training. Generally, there was a negative correlation between observation skills and internal conflict in every aspect of infection control practice (r=-.281, p=.031). Internal conflict was significantly higher than expected in the context of hand hygiene (t=-2.135, p=.037), personal hygiene (t=-3.48, p=.002), and ventilator management (t=-3.69, p<.001). Clinical performance of students in the context of hand hygiene (t=4.69, p<.001), personal hygiene (t=2.06, p=.044), and ventilator management (t=2.68, p<.001) was significantly lower than expected prior to clinical training. Conclusion: Our findings showed that internal psychological conflict is higher when infection control practices are observed or performed to a lesser degree. Therefore, reinforcing education regarding infection control among students, such as developing a systematic program, or consecutive training and monitoring, is suggested.

  • Animations characterize space as a strategy to effectively show the inner conflicts of characters and to highlight the theme. During the process of inner conflict, characters unconsciously use defense mechanism to protect their egos from the fear that came from deficiency, and because of the self-deceptive quality of self-defense mechanism, the reality is distorted and conflicts get intensified. This study focuses on the concept of anti-house, the space where conflicts get intensified, analyzes animations to find out the aspect of inner conflict, and interprets the characteristic of space that is used for metaphoric structure frame. Also, it aims to reveal how the defense mechanism, which intensifies the inner conflict of characters, is characterized as anti-house. The analysis in this study was mainly done with the TV series, , and the theater version of . It is because the characters have serious deficiency from broken home and have a psychological quality of closed boundary that is symbolized as 'A.T. field'. Especially, the core character, 'Shinji Ikari', shows how a character uses compulsive self-defense mechanism to deal with inner conflict and as a result, goes through ego-collapse and then introspection. This process of the character's experience is the core of the whole plot. Through analysis, the relationship between the character's self-defense mechanism and the space, anti-house(which expands to Anti-city), was inferred. The space is made up of three axes, x-axis of horizontal space, y-axis of vertical space, and in the sense that all the space has no exit, z-axis of deeper contradictory space. This thesis started with the decision that is the most suitable work in analyzing the metaphorical relationship between self-defense mechanism and anti-house. There was limitation, however, as the typical characteristics of Japanese animations, pedantic composition and the possibility of broad interpretation, hindered clear verification. Hopefully, this limitation will be overcome by following studies and this study is expected to show the importance of space in interpreting the text of animations, and to serve as database for other creative works.
