  • This study shows the effect of 4% squid ink on the textural properties of squid during fermentation for 8 weeks at $10^{\circ}C$ or 32 days at $20^{\circ}C$ in 5% salt solution. Although the hardness and chewiness of the squid fermented with squid ink continuously decreased during fermentation, the degree of decrease was smaller than that of squid fermented without squid ink. We can conclude that squid ink inhibited the ripening of the low salt fermented squid.

  • Inkjet printing technology can reduce the LCD color filter manufacturing cost more than 50 %. Uniform color filter patterning can be achieved only with proper ink and barrier materials. We developed new ink and black matrix materials for inkjet color filter. The ink materials have low volatility while they have very high solid content. The black matrix materials have very precisely controlled surface energy so that the inks can fill the pixels evenly and completely. We controlled the ink drop volume and ink material to minimize the thickness difference between the black matrix and the color pixel. Micron-order jetting position accuracy was achieved. We successfully printed 14.1" color filters using our ink and black matrix materials.

  • In this paper, PVA(polyvinylalcohol), oxidized starch and SBR latex were used as binders for ink-jet printing papers, and their effects of the type and blending ratio of binders on ink-jet printing properties were compared. In case of coating color using PVA mainly used for a binder in ink-jet printing, spreading of printed letters decreased and excellent images were manifested resulting from strong hydrophilic of PVA. However, increasing solids content of coating color was somewhat limited because of the interaction of PVA and functional groups in silica as well as high molecular weight of PVA. When oxidized starch and SBR latex were mixed with PVA at desirable ratio to solve these problems, runnability in coating process was improved and good printing properties were shown. Gloss was improved when latex was used along with PVA as a binder because of the thermoplastic property of the latex. From this result, possibilities of high solids content and high gloss ink-jet printing papers were investigated.

  • [ $p16^{INK4a}$ ] is a tumor suppressor that belongs to the INK4 family of the cyclin D-dependent kinases (cdk) inhibitors. It plays regulatory roles in cell proliferation and in tumorigenesis by interacting with Rb signaling. Abnormally elevated $p16^{INK4a}$ protein expression causes cell cycle arrest (G1/S transition) and loss of cyclin-cdk activity. In many cancers, $p16^{INK4a}$ is altered by mutation, deletion, and promoter methylation. This review summarizes the function of p16 as an important regulator of cancer pathobiology and a promising target fer developing cancer therapeutic and chemopreventive agents.

  • Researchers of oriental color ink painting have concentrated on physical models such as brushes, papers, and ink diffusion. These models can be effective when painter depict a painting by tablet pen. If a painter has poor skill to use tablet pen or drawing ability, result should be not satisfied. In this paper, we propose an automatic painting method for oriental color ink painting. We use a computational approach to abstract landscape image and reproduce a painting by oriental color ink painting method. The reason why we use landscape image, landscape painting is a major theme of oriental ink painting.

  • Measuring ink penetration is one of the best ways to know paper printability. Ink penetration was effected by physical properties of newspapers. This study was carried out for the purpose of improvement printability with ink penetration of Korean newspapers. The samples were prepared by means of 7 Newspaper manufacture company in Korea, and were tested by IGT printability tester. The results of this experiments showed that the rate of ink penetration, roughness and porosity are proportioned. While, ink penetration, paper formation, ash content and smoothness of paper are in inverse proportioned.

  • Squid ink was added to the low salt fermented squid by 4% of concentration and ripened at 10$^{\cric}C$ for 6 weeks and at 20$^{\cric}C$ for 28 days. The effect of the squid ink on the non-volatile organic acids of low salt fermented squid were investigated. The results are as follows; The non-volatile organic acid in the salt fermented squid without addition of the squid ink was examined and the result showed that lactic and acetic acids were the major organic acids even if very small amount of citric and oxalic acids were detected. In the squid ink added to the low salt fermented squid, total quantity of non-volatile organic acid in the latter part of the ripening was lower than no treatment groups.

  • The combination of a silicone surfaced plate and high viscosity ink produced a waterless printing system that worked well, but had limitation. The limitation was that this system was restricted to relatively short run lengths. In the waterless printing process, the press tended to heat up rapidly. Heat in turn, broke down the resins in the inks, causing them to become more fluid. When the ink is heated, the viscosity will drop, the ink will become too liquid and the plate will no longer be able to resist it. The ink will adhere to the non-print portions of the plate, and will print as a very fine mist or speckle pattern in the non-image area. On the other hand, when the ink gets too cold, viscosity will increase until ink transfer is impeded. This study carried otu to investigate the effect of temperature variations of the inks on the print quality in waterless lithography and to examine the adaptability of waterless lithography to conventional offset press without cooling system.

  • The character of standing box printing reguires a rich representation on a light and a shade of color and cause the modern photographs to be abundant of the ink and also show the continuity of which any other printing is incapable because of its profound gradation. The clear printing in gravure can be said to be due to the good transfer of the ink-the completion of the transference of the ink into the stencil paper and the clear transference of the printing tone. The most inportant matter is the distance between the printing press and the doctor line. It is the matter of the structure and arrangement because of giving the most affect on the dryness of the ink in the cell. The glue of the ink in gravure changes by the kinds of the dye and the cellusolve used.

  • The fundamental parameters controlling ink-jet printing liquids are the viscosity and surface energy. The wetting contact angle determines the spread of a liquid drop on the surface and depends on the relative surface energy. The characteristics of silver ink-jet printing were studied with control of surface energy and head temperature. Polyethylene terephthalate(PET) film and Si-wafer(ptype) were used as substrates and atmospheric plasma was treated to control the surface energy. With silver ink, the hydrophilic surface treatment could reduce the radius of droplets due to the hydrophobic nature of silver ink.
