  • Trepan prevents wear of an inside part of a bearing when the initial shaft rotates. It continuously contacts with the eccentric part of the shaft in rotation and is loaded repeatedly. Therefore, even if an early crack of a trepan part is small, a crack progresses by a repeated load. If a crack progresses, very small chips come out. This is pill in the rotor and prevents rotation of the compressor. There can be leaks in a microgroove and extreme wear can occur due to lack of oil on the surface contact pan. Therefore, this study was carried out to compare and investigate trepan strength and deflection characteristics between trepan locations and dimension changes using a finite element method and search a motor bearing for a model with bigger stiffness of a trepan part and the same deflection. And then. five different types of the oil groove model were chosen to prevent small crack and considered also machining ability and the analysis was carried out on oil feeding flow.

  • A fuzzy control strategy is described which is utilized to control the joint angle and tip deflection in single flexible manipulator. In this paper, an existing model for a single flexible manipulator is used for the initial development of an FLC. One FLC is designed to govern the joint angle of the manipulator as it is rotated from one position to another, and the second FLC is designed to attenuate the tip deflection which result from joint angle body motion. Reference Trajectory Command is an important method to reduce vibration in flexible beam. This paper presents a very simple command control shaping which eliminates multiple mode residual vibration in a flexible beam combined parallel fuzzy controller. The effectiveness of proposed scheme is demonstrated through computer simulation.

콘크리트 구조 설계기준과 Eurocode 2의 처짐 산정에 관한 실험적 고찰 (Experimental Study on Deflection Evaluation of KCI specification and Eurocode 2)

  • 철근 콘크리트 구조물의 사용성 검토에서 처짐은 가장 중요하게 고려된다. 국내 콘크리트 구조 설계기준은 ACI 코드와 같이 Branson이 제시한 균열 단면에서의 유효 단면2차모멘트를 이용하여 처짐을 계산하고 있다. Branson식은 일반적인 휨 부재의 최대 처짐값을 통계적으로 분석하여 유도된 식으로 인장증강 효과와 같은 철근과 콘크리트의 부착특성을 직접 반영할 수 없는 단점을 가진다. 따라서 현 콘크리트 구조 설계기준식을 철근 콘크리트 구조물에 반영하면 실제 처짐과 많은 차이가 생길 수 있다. 이에 대해 본 연구에서는 구조설계기준과 Eurocode 2로부터 산정된 처짐값을 실험에 의한 처짐값과 비교하였다. Eurocode 2에서는 인장증강효과를 고려한 철근의 평균 변형률로 곡률을 계산한 후 적분을 통해 처짐을 계산하기 때문에 콘크리트 구조 설계식보다 실제 처짐을 좀 더 정확하게 예측할 것으로 기대된다. 강도설계법으로 설계된 4개의 실험체가 고려되었으며, 처짐 계산 시 사용되는 콘크리트의 탄성계수나 인장강도 등은 각각의 설계기준에 따라 계산하였다.

Prestress force effect on fundamental frequency and deflection shape of PCI beams

  • The prestress force effect on the fundamental frequency and deflection shape of Prestressed Concrete I (PCI) beams was studied in this paper. Currently, due to the conflicts among existing theories, the analytical solution for properly considering the structural behavior of these prestressed members is not clear. A series of experiments were conducted on a large-scale PCI beam of high strength concrete with an eccentric straight unbonded tendon. Specifically, the simply supported PCI beam was subjected to free vibration and three-point bending tests with different prestress forces. Subsequently, the experimental data were compared with analytical results based on the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory. It was proved that the fundamental frequency of PCI beams is unaffected by the increasing applied prestress force, if the variation of the initial elastic modulus of concrete with time is considered. Vice versa, the relationship between the deflection shape and prestress force is well described by the magnification factor formula of the compression-softening theory assuming the secant elastic modulus.

판부재의 탄소성대변형 유한요소 해석문제에서의 수렴기법에 관한 고찰 (A Study on the Iterative Solution Procedures for the Elasto-Plastic Large Deflection Analysis of Plates)

  • 본 연구에서는 유한요소법에 의한 판부재의 탄소성대변형 거동해석시의 불평형력에 대한 수렴기법의 효율성에 대해 고찰해 보았다. 대상 수렴기법으로는 단순증분법(SI법), Newton-Raphson(NR)법과 수정 Newton-Raphson(mNR)법을 선정하였다. 이들 결과를 바탕으로, 큰 처짐이 발생하는 판에 대해서는 불평형력에 대한 수렴계산을 수행하여야 하며, 이 경우 mR법과 NR법은 같은 정도를 유지하면서도 계산시간은 mNR버과 NR법에 비해 약 1/2정도 절감되며, 큰 초기처짐이 존재하거나 두꺼운 판의 경우에는 불평형력이 상대적으로 크지 않기 때문에 SI법을 사용하는 것이 훨씬 유용하다는 것을 확인하였다.

  • The nonlinear analysis of ship plating with flat bar stiffners has been carried out by the finite element method based on the load incremental approach. The large deflection analysis has been done by using the Lagrangian description. The elastoplastic analysis has been performed by adopting the flow theory of plasticity and the von Mises yield condition. The layered elements are used to show the process of yielding through the plate thickness in the elasto-plastic analysis. The following results are obtained; 1) According to the large deflection analysis, it is shown that the small deflection theory to the plate is applicable in the range of the lateral deflection-the thickness ratio $w/h{\leqq}0.3$ and ship plating in the range of $w/h{\leqq}0.5$. 2) By means of the elasto-plastic analysis, it is found that the maximum load-carrying capacity of the plate increases as much as 1.8 times of the initial yield load in the case of the simply supported condition and 2.2 times in the clamped condition. It is also shown that the maximum load-carrying capacity of ship plating increase as much as 4.3 times in the simply supported condition and 4.2 times in the clamped condition. This method would be applied and extended to solve combined nonlinear problems which involve both material nonlinearity and geometric nonlinearity.

휨하중을 받는 스마트 초고강도 섬유보강 콘크리트의 전기역학적 거동 조사 (Investigation of the Electromechanical Response of Smart Ultra-high Performance Fiber Reinforced Concretes Under Flexural)

  • 본 연구에서는 smart ultra-high performance fiber reinforced concretes (S-UHPFRCs)의 자기감지 능력을 검증하기 위해 인장과 압축 영역에서 휨 하중에 따른 S-UHPFRCs의 전기역학적 거동을 조사하였다. 휨 하중 하에서 S-UHPFRCs의 전기저항률은 초기균열 이후 다수의 미세균열을 보이는 변형-경화 거동으로 인해 계속해서 변화된다. 압축 영역에서 S-UHPFRCs의 전기저항률은 등가 휨 응력이 증가함에 따라 976.57에서 514.05 kΩ-cm로 (47.00%) 감소하였으며, 인장 영역에서는 979.61에서 682.28 kΩ-cm로 (30.40%) 감소하였다. S-UHPFRCs의 응력 민감도 계수는 압축 영역과 인장 영역이 각각 1.709와 1.098 %/MPa이다. S-UHPFRCs의 처짐 감지 능력은 압축 영역 (30.06 %/mm)이 인장 영역 (19.72 %/mm)보다 높았다. 초기 처짐 감지 능력은 측정 영역과 관계없이 처짐 감지 능력의 약 50%로 초기 처짐에 대한 우수한 감지 능력을 가지는 것으로 확인되었다. 휨 하중 하에서 S-UHPFRCs의 자기감지 능력은 압축 영역에서 더 높았으나 S-UHPFRCs는 건설 현장에 적용할 자기 감지 재료로 충분하다.

  • The conversion of mechanical energy into electrical energy at nanoscale using piezoelectric nanowire arrays has been in detail shown by deflection of nanowires. Recently it has performed an analytical model, both at classical and at quantum level, for describing the most important quantities concerning transport phenomena; the model predicts interesting peculiarities, as high initial charge diffusion in nanodevices constituting by nanowires and permits also in particular to deduce interesting informations about the devices sensitivity, focusing on the correlation between sensitivity and high initial diffusivity of these materials at nanometric level.

  • Precise propulsion shafting alignment of ships is very important to prevent damage of its support bearings due to excessive reaction forces caused by hull deflection, forces acted on propeller and crankshaft, and so forth. In this paper, a new iterative shafting alignment calculation procedure considering the interaction between shaft deflection and oil film pressure of Sterntube Journal Bearing (SJB) bush with single or multiple slopes is proposed. The procedure is based on a pressure analysis to evaluate distributed equivalent support stiffness of SJB by solving Reynolds equation and a deflection analysis of shafting system by a finite element method based on Timoshenko beam theory. SJB is approximated with multi-point biaxial elastic supports equally distributed to its length. Their initial stiffness values are estimated from dynamic reaction force calculated by assuming SJB as single rigid support. Then, the shaft deflection and the support stiffness of SJB are sequentially and iteratively calculated by applying a criteria on deflection variation between sequential calculation results. To demonstrate validity and applicability of the proposed procedure for optimal slope design of SJB, numerical analysis results for a shafting system are described.

  • The carbon fiber reinforced/epoxy laminated composites were fabricated with initial fiber failures within the unidirectional fiber pre-pregnated ply. The fiber failures were made intentionally either parallel to and/or perpendicular to the unidirectional fibers within the ply. The pre-made clear-cut cracks were found to be healed partially after laminating process. The laminates were impacted with or without initial fiber failures within the laminates. The force versus deflection curves were compared. The partially healed laminates showed the reduced laminate stiffness as compared to those without any intentional fiber failures. The impact curves were compared with size and the location of the initial failures varied.
