A Study on the Preparation of Standardized Operation Criteria for Enhancement of Safety and Convenience of Mobile Electronic Notice Service

  • Due to the expansion of non-face-to-face services, the demand for user identification for mobile devices is increasing. Recently, mobile resident registration cards, mobile driver's licenses, etc. are installed in mobile phones and used for user identification and authentication services. In order to identify a user online, unique identification information of the online user is required. In particular, in order to provide information only to online users, it is necessary to accurately deliver information to a mobile device owned by the user. To make this service possible, it was realized with the advent of mobile electronic notice service. However, the identification of online service users and information on mobile devices owned or subscribed by the relevant users require safe management as personal information, and it is also necessary to increase the convenience of online service users. In this paper, we propose an operating standard for providing a mobile electronic notice service that sends electronic notice using a mobile device owned by the user. The mobile electronic notice service is a service that provides notices expressed in electronic information to the recipient's cell phone, mobile app, e-mail, etc. Therefore, as the use of mobile electronic notification service increases and the provision and use of connecting information to identify users increases, it is necessary to expand the mobile electronic notification service while safely protecting users' personal information.

Continuous usage intention of social media as an online information distribution channels

  • Purpose: This study aimed to explore the variables that may play a significant role in inducing Facebook users to use Facebook as online information distribution channels continuously. Research design, data, and methodology: The population of this study are all Facebook users who have actively used Facebook as a social media as online information distribution for at least one year. Purposive sampling technique was used in this study and 290 respondents were enrolled. The data was collected using a questionnaire and further analyzed with path analysis and SEM-PLS approach. Result: The results showed that perceived ease of use, perceived critical mass, perceived enjoyment, and perceived information intelligence have a positive and a significant effect towards perceived usefulness. Perceived usefulness also has a positive and significant effect on users' attitude, and users' attitude has a positive and significant effect on intentions to use Facebook continuously among its users. Conclusions: Hence, it is important for Facebook as an online information distribution channel to maintain its perceived usefulness in order to create a positive impact on its users' and induce Facebook users' to use social media continuously.

Pre-Evaluation for Detecting Abnormal Users in Recommender System

  • This study is devoted to suggesting the norm of detection abnormal users who are inferior to the other users in the recommender system compared with estimation accuracy. To select the abnormal users, we propose the pre-filtering method by using the preference ratings to the item rated by users. In this study, the experimental result shows the possibility of detecting the abnormal users before the process of preference estimation through the prediction algorithm. And It will be possible to improve the performance of the recommender system by using this detecting norm.

코로나19 (COVID-19) 관련 위험정보 탐색과 처리가 코로나19 예방 행동 및 정보 공유에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of COVID-19 Risk Information Seeking and Processing on its Preventive Behaviors and Information Sharing)

  • This study aims to examine the effects of users' perceptions of COVID-19 risk on their seeking and processing of relevant information as COVID-19 emerges and spreads worldwide in 2019. We apply the risk information seeking and processing model (RISP Model) to verify whether users' COVID-19 related information seeking and processing behaviors have a positive effect on their preventive and information sharing behaviors. To achieve this research goal, an online survey was conducted with about 400 of social media users. The users' perceptions of risk for COVID-19 increased their perceived insufficiency of COVID-19 information. In addition, the perceived insufficiency of users' information formed a positive relationship with seeking and searching of information behaviors. The processing of COVID-19 related information has increased related preventive behaviors and sharing of information through social media. While searching for information related to COVID-19 prompted personal information sharing behaviors, it did not significantly affect preventive behaviors. Accordingly, in order to promote COVID-19 preventive behaviors as well as overall user health-related behaviors it can be inferred that additional measures are needed in addition to pursuing relevant information.

Beyond Categories: A Structural Analysis of the Social Representations of Information Users' Collective Perceptions on 'Relevance'

  • Relevance has a long history of scholarly investigation and discussion in information science. One of its notable concepts is that of 'user-based' relevance. The purpose of this study is to examine how users construct their perspective on the concept of relevance; to analyze what the constituent elements (facets) of relevance are, in terms of core-periphery status; and to compare the difference of constructions of two groups of users (information users vs. information professionals) as applied with a social representations theory perspective. Data were collected from 244 information users and 123 information professionals through use of a free word association method. Three methods were employed to analyze data: (1) content analysis was used to elicit 26 categories (facets) of the concept of relevance; (2) structural analysis of social representations was used to determine the core-periphery status of those facets in terms of coreness, sum of similarity, and weighted frequency; and, (3) maximum tree analysis was used to present and compare the differences between the two groups. Elicited categories in this study overlap with the ones from previous relevance studies, while the findings of a core-periphery analysis show that Topicality, User-needs, Reliability/Credibility, and Importance are configured as core concepts for the information user group, while Topicality, User-needs, Reliability/Credibility, and Currency are core concepts for the information professional group. Differences between the social representations of relevance revealed that Topicality was similar to User-needs and to Importance. Author is closely related to Title while Reliability/Credibility is linked with Currency. Easiness/Clarity is similar to Accuracy. Overall, information users and professionals function with a similar social collective of shared meanings for the concept of relevance. The overall findings identify the core and periphery concepts of relevance and their relationships in terms of coreness, similarity, and weighted frequency.

User Clustering Scheme for Downlink of NOMA System

  • An improved clustering scheme based on user group is proposed. Every two users are grouped among N-users in the allowed system according to their link gain from large to small. Each user group is numbered sequentially. Two user clusters are obtained according to the principle of maximizing link gain difference for the users in the first and last user groups. The remaining user groups are added to the two existing user clusters according to the parity of the group number. The clustering should be clustered again among the users in either user cluster if the throughput summation of a user cluster in NOMA is less than that of these users in orthogonal multiple access. The simulation results show that the proposed clustering scheme can increase the system throughput by about 8% compared with the hybrid clustering scheme when the number of users requiring service is 12.

소셜네트워크서비스의 이용동기가 실제 이용과 메시지 특성 인식에 미치는 영향: '페이스북', '트위터', '싸이월드', '미투데이'의 비교를 중심으로 (The Effect of SNS Users' Use Motivations on Using SNS and Recognizing Characteristics of SNS Messages: Focused on the Comparison among 'Facebook', 'Twitter', 'Cyworld', and 'Me2day')

  • SNS 이용자를 대상으로 한 온라인 서베이 결과, SNS 이용자의 이용동기는 '정보', '참여', '교류'로 추출됐다. SNS 이용동기에 따른 SNS 이용 여부에서 SNS 이용동기는 해당 SNS의 특성을 잘 설명하는 것으로 나타났다. 정보를 얻는 것이 목적인 SNS 이용자는 '트위터'와 '미투데이'와 같은 소통 중심 SNS를 더 많이 이용했다. SNS에 참여하는 것이 목적인 SNS 이용자는 가장 많은 가입자를 확보하고 있는 '싸이월드'를 더 많이 이용했다. 다른 사람과 교류하는 것이 목적인 SNS 이용자는 관계 중심 SNS인 '페이스북'과 '싸이월드'를 더 많이 이용한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 경향은 SNS 이용동기에 따른 SNS 이용시간 및 접속횟수에서도 비슷하게 나타났다. 한편 정보를 얻고 다른 사람과의 교류를 하는 것이 목적인 SNS 이용자는 SNS 메시지를 긍정적으로 평가하는 반면에, SNS에 참여하는 것이 목적인 SNS 이용자는 부정적으로 인식하는 경향이 있었다. 이는 SNS의 이용동기에 따라 SNS 메시지에 대한 인식이 달라질 수 있다는 것을 확인시켜 준다.

Generic Costing Scheme Using General Equilibrium Theory for Fair Cloud Service Charging

  • Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) enable their users to access Cloud computing and storage services from anywhere in quick and flexible manners through the Internet. With the basis of 'pay-as-you-go' model, it makes the interactions between CSPs and the users play a vital role in shaping the Cloud computing market. A pool of virtualized and dynamically scalable Cloud services that delivered on demand to the users is associated with guaranteed performance and cost-provisioning. It needed a costing scheme for determining suitable charges in order to secure lease pricing of the Cloud services. However, it is hard to meet the satisfied prices for both CSPs and users due to their conflicting needs. Furthermore, there is lack of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) that allowing the users to take part into price negotiating process. The users may lose their interest to use Cloud services while reducing CSPs profit. Therefore, this paper proposes a generic costing scheme for Cloud services using General Equilibrium Theory (GET). GET helps to formulate the price function for various services' factors to match with various demands from the users. It is initially determined by identifying the market circumstances that a general equilibrium will be hold and reached. Specifically, there are two procedures of agreement made in response to (i) established equilibrium supply and demand, and (ii) service price formed and constructed in a price range. The SLAs in our costing scheme is integrated to satisfy both CSPs and users' needs while minimizing their conflicts. The price ranging strategy is deliberated to provide prices' options to the users with respect their budget limit. Meanwhile, the CSPs can adaptively charge based on users' preferences without losing their profit. The costing scheme is testable and analyzed in multi-tenant computing environments. The results from our simulation experiments demonstrate that the proposed costing scheme provides better users' satisfaction while fostering fairness pricing in the Cloud market.

원거리 이용자들의 도서관 서비스 이용과 선호도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Remote Library Users : Needs of Library Services and Preferences)

  • 가상 교육을 받는 학생들의 정보 이용 형태와 선호도를 검토해 본 결과, 원거리 이용자들은 접근성과 이용의 편이성으로 인해 원문을 쉽게 획득할 수 있는 온라인 데이터베이스와 인터넷을 선호하나, 온라인 데이터베이스와 인터넷의 정보로는 만족하기 어려워, 불편을 감수하면서도 도서와 논문을 주 정보원으로 이용하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 가상교육을 받는 원거리 이용자들의 86.7퍼센트가 전자도서관 서비스는 가상교육 프로그램을 선택하는데 중요한 고려대상이며 교수가 도서관 이용에 가장 많은 영향을 미친다고 응답하여 가상교육 프로그램과 전자도서관 정보서비스 체계의 파트너쉽의 필요성을 보여주었다. 마지막으로, 가상교육을 받는 학생들은 웹 페이지의 디자인보다는 정보의 근거와 정확성 그리고 내용의 적합성을 우선적으로 중요시하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, 도서관은 많은 양질의 디지털화 된 정보를 확보하는 것이 무엇보다 우선되어야 할 것으로 보인다. 컴퓨터의 대중화가 이루어지고, 교육과 정보의 환경이 변화하고 있는 현 시점에서, 서비스의 질적 향상을 도모하고자 하였으며 앞으로 많은 연구들이 계속되어져야 할 것으로 믿는다.

사용자 중심의 블로그 정보 검색 기법 (User-Centered Information Retrieving Method in Blogs)

  • 최근 빠른 주기로 많은 양의 새로운 정보가 생성되기 때문에, 사용자 중심의 정보 검색을 위해 RSS라는 신디케이션 기술이 제공되고 있다. RSS는 새롭게 갱신된 콘텐츠를 자동으로 전달받을 수 있어 신규 정보를 찾기 위해 사이트에 지속적으로 접근하지 않아도 된다. 본 논문에서는 블로그 정보 검색을 위해 RSS 문서의 주소를 수집하는 수집기와 사용자 질의에 따른 RSS 문서의 순위결정 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 정보 검색 기법을 이용하면 사용자가 RSS 문서를 효과적으로 검색할 수 있다.
