In this study the author examines the health information seeking behavior of older adults from the perspective of cognitive load. Using a qualitative method, based on ground theory, data were collected using in-depth interviews. Twenty-eight participants were participating older adults living in G community city, South Korea who experienced seeking health information. Interview transcripts were analyzed using a qualitative thematic coding framework. Three themes describing older adults' health information seeking behaviors were focused: intrinsic, extraneous, and germane cognitive load. The findings are geared towards the context of older adults' information seeking to support an understanding of successful information seeking behaviors in this population and to contribute to their health and well-being. The intent is to present information on current research in the field of Library and Information Science and to demonstrate how a cognitive load approach can be used to address the problems of older adults' health information seeking behaviors.
In this paper, we present 2-step load cycle for daily load curve of up to and including 100kVA distribution transformer in domestic. Daily load patterns are classified by two methods dependent upon possession information. In case we possess daily load profiles make use of K-mean algorithm and in case we have not daily load profiles, make use of customer information of KEPCO. As the parameters of the load pattern classification, we use are daily load profiles and customer information of each distribution transformers. Data management system is used for NT oracle. We can present peak load magnitude, initial load magnitude and peak load duration for daily load patterns by 2-step load cycle for daily load curve of up to and including 100kVA distribution transformer in domestic. We think that this paper contributes to enhancing the distribution transformer overload criterion.

In a P2P (Peer-to-Peer) VoD (video-on-Demand) streaming system, the nodes' load is an important factor which affects the system performance. In the system, some nodes may receive too many requests, which leads to overload. On the other hand, some other nodes may receive too few requests, which leads to low utilization. Therefore, designing a reasonable load balancing strategy is important. However, existing related studies cannot handle this problem effectively, because they don't have an efficient dynamic load information management mechanism, and they don't distinguish the difference of requests when transfer the nodes' load. In this paper, to manage the dynamic load information efficiently, we design a load management table for each node. Based on the load information, we propose a load balancing strategy which uses a request migration algorithm (LBRM). Through simulations, our scheme can handle the load imbalance problem effectively and improve the users' playback fluency.
In past few years, distributed hash table (DHT)-based P2P systems have been proven to be a promising way to manage decentralized index information and provide efficient lookup services. However, the skewness of users' preferences regarding keywords contained in a multi-keyword query causes a query load imbalance that combines both routing and response load. This imbalance means long file retrieval latency that negatively influences the overall system performance. Although index replication has a great potential for alleviating this problem, existing schemes did not explicitly address it or incurred high cost. To overcome this issue, we propose, in this paper, an integrated solution that consists of three replication schemes to alleviate query load imbalance while minimizing the cost. The first scheme is an active index replication that is used in order to decrease routing load in the system and to distribute response load of an index among peers that store replicas of the index. The second scheme is a proactive pointer replication that places location information of each index to a predetermined number of peers for reducing maintenance cost between the index and its replicas. The third scheme is a passive index replication that guarantees the maximum query load of peers. The result of simulations indicates that the proposed schemes can help alleviate the query load imbalance of peers. Moreover, it was found by comparison that our schemes are more cost-effective on placing replicas than PCache and EAD.
Load balancing plays a crucial role in ensuring the stable operation of information management systems during periods of high user access requests; therefore, load balancing approaches should be reasonably selected. Moreover, appropriate load balancing techniques could also result in an appropriate allocation of system resources, improved system service, and economic benefits. Nginx is one of the most widely used loadbalancing software packages, and its deployment is representative of load-balancing application research. This study introduces Nginx into an educational administration system, builds a server cluster, and compares and sets the optimal cluster working strategy based on the characteristics of the system, Furthermore, it increases the stability of the system when user access is highly concurrent and uses the Nginx reverse proxy service function to improve the cluster's ability to resist illegal attacks. Finally, through concurrent access verification, the system cluster construction becomes stable and reliable, which significantly improves the performance of the information system service. This research could inform the selection and application of load-balancing software in information system services.

This paper proposes a dynamic downlink load control scheme that jointly employs dynamic load threshold management and virtual coverage management schemes to reduce the degree of performance degradation due to traffic overload in two-tier femtocell networks. With the proposed scheme, the downlink load in a serving macrocell is controlled with a load threshold which is adjusted dynamically depending on the varying downlink load conditions of neighboring macrocells. In addition, traffic overloading is alleviated by virtually adjusting the coverage of the overloaded serving macrocell, based on the adjusted load threshold of the serving macrocell. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme improves the performance of two-tier femtocell networks in terms of the outage probability and sum throughput. This improvement is significantly increased with appropriate values of load thresholds and with an intermediate-level adjustment of the virtual coverage area (i.e., handover hysteresis margin: HOM). Furthermore, the proposed scheme outperforms both a previously proposed load control scheme with a static load threshold and the LTE system without a HOM adjustment.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effect for information load on perceived information quality and website quality, and the relationships among perceived information quality, website quality and behavioral intentions in online apparel shopping contexts. The information load theory provided the theoretical framework for this study. The research strategy employed an online experimentation using an apparel mock website. The total of 647 responses were used for data analyses. The model of the study was tested by MANOVA and SEM. The results of MANOVA revealed the effect of information load on perceived information quality and website quality. The medium level of information load was perceived as having more positive information quality and website quality as compared to the low or high level of information load. The findings of SEM revealed the positive effect of information quality on website quailty, the positive effect of website quality on WOM and willingness to pay more, and the negative effect of website quailty on willingness to switch. Online apparel retailers and website designers need to manage information quantity and quality by understanding the importance of information load.

The reduction of energy consumption at the base station (BS) has become more important recently. In this paper, we consider the adaptive muting of the antennas based on the predicted future traffic load to reduce the energy consumption where the number of active antennas is adaptively adjusted according to the predicted future traffic load. Given that traffic load is sequential data, three different RNN structures, namely long-short term memory (LSTM), gated recurrent unit (GRU), and bidirectional LSTM (Bi-LSTM) are considered for the future traffic load prediction. Through the performance evaluation based on the actual traffic load collected from the Afghanistan telecom company, we confirm that the traffic load can be estimated accurately and the overall power consumption can also be reduced significantly using the antenna musing.

One of the major goals suggested in distributed system is to improve the performance of the system through the load balancing of whole system. Load balancing among systems improves the rate of processor utilization and reduces the turnaround time of system. In this paper, we design the rule of decision-making and information interchange based on knowledge based mechanism which makes optimal load balancing by sharing the future load state information inferred from past and present information of each nodes. The result of performance evaluation shows that utilization of processors is balanced, the processing time is improved and reliability and availability of systems are enhanced. The proposed mechanism in this paper can be utilized in the design of load balancing algorithm in distributed operating systems.

Currently an automated methodology based on data mining techniques is presented for the prediction of customer load patterns in load demand data. The main aim of our work is to forecast customers' contract information from capacity of daily power consumption patterns. According to the result, we try to evaluate the contract information's suitability. The proposed our approach consists of three stages: (i) data preprocessing: noise or outlier is detected and removed (ii) cluster analysis: SOMs clustering is used to create load patterns and the representative load profiles and (iii) classification: we applied the K-NNs classifier in order to predict the customers' contract information base on power consumption patterns. According to the our proposed methodology, power load measured from AMR(automatic meter reading) system, as well as customer indexes, were used as inputs. The output was the classification of representative load profiles (or classes). Lastly, in order to evaluate KNN classification technique, the proposed methodology was applied on a set of high voltage customers of the Korea power system and the results of our experiments was presented.
