무선 전력전송을 위한 초음파 트랜스듀서 시스템 개발 Part 1: 송신소자 개발 (Development of Ultrasonic Transducer System for Wireless Power Transfer Part 1 : Transmitter Development)

  • Recently, wireless power transfer technology is ready to be commercialized in consumer electronics. It draws attention from not only experts but also public because of its convenience and huge market. However, previous technologies such as magnetic resonance and induction coupling have limited applications because of its short transfer distance compared to device size and magnetic intensity limitation on the safety of body exposure. As an alternative, ultrasonic wireless power transfer technology is proposed. The ultrasonic wireless power transfer system is composed of transmitter which converts electrical energy to ultrasonic energy and receiver which converts the ultrasonic energy to the electrical energy again. This paper is focused on the development of high energy conversion efficiency of ultrasonic transmitter. Optimal transfer frequency is calculated based on the acoustic radiation and damping effect. The transmitter is designed through numerical analysis, and is manufactured to match the optimal transfer frequency with the size of 100 mm diameter, 12.2 mm thickness plate. The energy conversion efficiency of about 13.6 % at 2 m distance is obtained, experimentally. This result is quite high considered with the device size and the power transfering distance.

A Review of Assistive Listening Device and Digital Wireless Technology for Hearing Instruments

  • Assistive listening devices (ALDs) refer to various types of amplification equipment designed to improve the communication of individuals with hard of hearing to enhance the accessibility to speech signal when individual hearing instruments are not sufficient. There are many types of ALDs to overcome a triangle of speech to noise ratio (SNR) problems, noise, distance, and reverberation. ALDs vary in their internal electronic mechanisms ranging from simple hard-wire microphone-amplifier units to more sophisticated broadcasting systems. They usually use microphones to capture an audio source and broadcast it wirelessly over a frequency modulation (FM), infra-red, induction loop, or other transmission techniques. The seven types of ALDs are introduced including hardwire devices, FM sound system, infra-red sound system, induction loop system, telephone listening devices, television, and alert/alarm system. Further development of digital wireless technology in hearing instruments will make possible direct communication with ALDs without any accessories in the near future. There are two technology solutions for digital wireless hearing instruments improving SNR and convenience. One is near-field magnetic induction combined with Bluetooth radio frequency (RF) transmission or proprietary RF transmission and the other is proprietary RF transmission alone. Recently launched digital wireless hearing aid applying this new technology can communicate from the hearing instrument to personal computer, phones, Wi-Fi, alert systems, and ALDs via iPhone, iPad, and iPod. However, it comes with its own iOS application offering a range of features but there is no option for Android users as of this moment.

플라즈마 침적에 의한 핵열료 제조에 미치는 변수들의 영향 (Parameters Effect on Fabrication of Nuclear Fuel by Plasma Deposition)

  • 용융점 및 물리.화학적 특성이 $\textrm{UO}_{2}$와 비슷한 yttria-stabilized-zirconia ($\textrm{ZrO}_{2}$-$\textrm{Y}_{2}\textrm{O}_{3}$)분말을 유도플라즈마(induction plasma)로 용융 침적시켜 원자력발전용 핵연료펠렛 제조공정에 응용하고자 하였다. 분말의 용융정도는 플라즈마동력 및 분말의 크기에 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났으며, 쉬스가스 조성, 분말분사관 위치, 입자크기 및 분사거리 등을 최적화 하여 Ar/$\textrm{H}_{2}$유량120/20$\ell$/min, 플리즈마 동력 80KW, 분사관의위치 8cm , 챔버압력 200Torr, 분사거리 18cm에서 이론밀도의 97.91%, 침적속도 20mm/min의 최적조건을 도출하였다. 침적시험에서 도출된 최적조건으로 펠렛몰더에서 제조한 펠렛은 96.5%의 밀도를 나타내었으며, 균일도 및 외곤도 우수하여 신기술에 의한 핵연료의 제조가능성을 확인하였다. 고밀도 침적에 영향을 미치는 각 변수들의 영향과 이들 변수들의 상호영향은 ANOVA(Analysis of Variance)을 이용하여 분석하였다.

  • A monobloc tubular drive shaft is designed to obtain the improved structural safety and the weight reduction of the drive shaft together. The monobloc tubular drive shaft can be manufactured from an incremental hot rotary forging process. The aim of this study was to experimentally determine conditions of an incremental hot rotary forging process for a monobloc tubular drive shaft. Induction heating experiments were performed to estimate a proper heating time of an initial workpiece in an induction heating process. Several incremental hot rotary forging experiments were carried out using a mechanical press with the designed set-up. The step distance and the step angle were chosen as controllable forming parameters. Based on the results of the experiments, the influence of forming parameters on the quality of the forged part was investigated. Finally, a forming map and a proper forming condition of the incremental hot rotary forging process were estimated.

전자기형 리타더의 전력회수장치 및 회생전압제어에 대한 연구 (A Study on Electromagnetic Retarder's Power Recovery System and Regenerating Voltage Control)

  • In the case of frequent braking, when driving downhill or long distance, conventional brakes using friction are problematic in braking safety due to brake rupture and fading phenomenon. Therefore auxiliary brakes is essential for heavy vehicles. And several research has been actively conducted to improve energy efficiency by regenerating mechanical energy into electric energy when the vehicles brake. In this paper, a voltage control method is utilized to recover the electric energy generated in the electromagnetic retarder instead of the eddy current. To regenerate the braking energy into the electrical energy, a resonant L-C circuit is configured in the retarder. The retarder can be modeled as self-excited induction generator due to its operating principle. The driving conditions according to the retarder's parameters are made into 3-D maps. Also, the voltage of the resonant circuit changing depending on the driving pulse applied to the FET was analyzed. For the control of this voltage, we proposed an algorithm using the PI controller. The controlled voltage is converted by a 3-phase AC/DC converter and then charged to a battery inside the heavy vehicles through a DC/DC converter. Electromagnetic retarder and its controller are validated using Matlab Simulink. We also demonstrate the voltage controller through the actual M-G set experiment.

음이온 생성을 위한 표면 유전체장벽방전의 설계조건 연구 (A Study of The Surface Dielectric Barrier Discharge Design Conditions for Generating Negative Air Ions)

  • This paper describes a study of the design conditions of a planar surface dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) reactors for generating negative air ions. The capacity of negative air ion generated by the surface DBD reactor is affected by the shape, area ratio and the location of the discharge and induction electrodes of it. To study the optimal design conditions of DBD reactors, the electrodes printed on the substrate of a PCB board is utilized to conduct kind of experiments: the distance of the each electrode along with the X-Y axis, the area ratio of the discharge electrode to induction electrode, and the symmetrical and asymmetrical location of two electrodes. The ion generation capacity is inverse proportional to the gap increases along with X-Y axis. And the optimum ion concentration generated by the ionizer was inspected when the electrodes area ratio was 3 and 5 times of the symmetrical and asymmetrical experimental condition respectively.

대용량 유도전동기 기동 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on Improving High-Power Induction Motor Starting)

  • 본 논문에서는 전력에너지를 사용하는 산업체의 전동기용량이 점차 증가하고 있다. 전동기는 기동시 기동전류로 전압강하가 발생한다. 이 기동전류가 전력계통에서 대형 전동기 기동 시 전압강하로 기동이 어려워 인접한 전력계통에 나쁜 영향을 미치게 된다. 또한 전동기는 부하의 크기에 따라 토크를 내는 것으로 토크의 크기에 따라 속도가 변하고 속도는 전동기 기동에 중요하다. 일반적으로 변압기나 비상발전기로부터 전동기까지의 거리가 짧으며 전동기용량이 작아 기동에 대한 어려움이 없으나 산업설비 등에 많이 이용되는 대용량 전동기의 기동특성에 대한 이론과 실제의 운전특성을 측정 분석하였다. 따라서 이번 연구는 전동기 기동 시 속도와 토크에 관계와 대용량 전동기 기동을 위한 분석과 전동기 기동 해석에 대해 연구하였다.

  • 본 논문은 고속 전기철도 시설로 인해 가입자 통신선로에서 발생하는 전력유도에 대한 현상과 관련 규정 및 유도전압 측정 결과를 분석한 것이다. 전력유도 현상의 명확한 이해를 돕기 위하여 이론적 배경을 제시하였고, 국내 법규에서 이상시유도위험전압, 상시유도위험종전압, 기기오동작유도종전압, 잡음전압 등으로 구분되는 유도전압 중에서 공통모드 전압에 해당하는 상시유도위험종전압과 잡음평형도 평가에 필요한 선대지잡음전압 및 차동모드전압인 선간잡음전압을 우리나라 고시 측정방법에 따라 측정하였다. 측정을 위해 이격거리가 각각 약 20 m와 300 m인 2 km 길이의 통신선로를 설치하여 실험하였으며 측정된 유도전압의 변화 및 파형 특성 등을 비교, 분석함으로써 고속전철에 의한 통신선로 전력유도 현상을 고찰하고 현행 측정방법의 타당성을 검토하였다.

  • Usually, large-sized buses and trucks have a very high load. In addition, frequent braking during downhill or long-distance driving, causes the conventional method using the brake friction to have a problem in safety because of brake fade and brake burst phenomenon. Auxiliary brakes dividing the braking load is essential. Hence, environment-friendly auxiliary brakes, such as contactless brake rather than the engine auxiliary brake system are needed. A study aimed at improving the energy efficiency by recharging electric energy with changing mechanical to electrical energy that occurs when braking is actively in progress. In this paper, the voltage control method is utilized to recover the electric energy generated in the electromagnetic retarder instead of the eddy current. To regenerate the braking energy into the electrical energy, the resonant L-C circuit is configured in the retarder. The voltage generated in the retarder is simply modeled as a transformer. However, retarder voltage control in this paper is simulated by modeling the induction generator because this induction generator modeling is more practical than transformer modeling. The changes in the voltage of the resonance circuit, which depends on the switch pulse duration of the control device, were analyzed. A PI controller algorithm to control this voltage is proposed. The feasibility of modeling retarder and voltage controller are shown by using MATLAB Simulink in this paper.
