The aim of this study is to understand the modernization process of interior spaces in the Korean housing, focused not only on the architectural aspects, but also on the sociological, anthropological and feministic aspects of housing. The development of korean housing from the period of traditional agricultural society and Japanese domination through the period of industrial development to the period of modem industrial society have been reviewed not from the Point of westernization but from the point of Korean own needs for modernity. It also tried to find the determinants of the relationship between social behavior patterns and space organization through historical change of housing plans. As a result, it was found the various western impacts to the continuation or change of Korean housing culture in the modernization process. Consequently this study comes to the concrete results as follows; 1) sociological aspect: The early layout of floorplans, that promoted the communication and contact between the user were changed. The layout of spaces in the modern housing tends to be not interdependence each other and be very isolated from the outdoor spaces. Those Phenomena reflect the trends to the Individualization, equivalence and privatization in the life of family. 2) feministic aspects: Differently from the early kitchen, modern ones locates in the internal space in the housing and the dinning area is appeared. And also the standing work at the kitchen war usually spreaded. Such changes are due to the emancipation of the women and downfall of the subordinate relationship between the genders. 3) anthropological aspects: The lifestyle, in which the user was mostly sitting on the floor, was constantly disappeared by using of furnitures that determines the function of each spaces in the housing. Those change demonstrate the change of behavior Patterns, thus, the needs of differentiation of function as well as the feministic needs. In other word, the coexistence of both fields of work and relax is required. 4) tectonic aspects: In the indoor space of modern housing the rooms are closed each other. Thus, concentrated circulation system act to separate these spaces. It is concrete spatial element that mostly shows the synthetic character of modem housing.

In image-based gait recognition systems, physical factors, such as the camera angle and the lens distortion, and environmental factors such as illumination determines the performance of recognition. In this paper we present a robust gait recognition method by compensating various types of image distortions. The proposed method is compared with existing gait recognition algorithm with consideration of both physical and environmental distortion factors in the input image. More specifically, we first present an efficient compensation algorithm of image distortion by using the projective transform, and test the feasibility of the proposed algorithm by comparing the recognition performances with and without the compensation process. Proposed method gives universal gait data which is invariant to both distance and environment. Gained data improved gait recognition rate about 41.5% in indoor image and about 55.5% in outdoor image. Proposed method can be used effectively in database(DB) construction, searching and tracking of specific objects.

LiDAR plays a key role in autonomous vehicles, where it is used to detect the environment in place of the driver's eyes, and its role is expanding. In recent years, there has been a growing need to test the performance of LiDARs installed in autonomous vehicles. Many LiDAR performance tests have been conducted in simulated and indoor(lab) environments, but the number of tests in outdoor(field) and real-world road environments has been minimal. In this study, we compared LiDAR performance under the same conditions lab and field to determine the relationship between lab and field tests and to establish the characteristics and roles of each test environment. The experimental results showed that LiDAR detection performance varies depending on the lighting environment (direct sunlight, led) and the detected object. In particular, the effect of decreasing intensity due to increasing distance and rainfall is greater outdoors, suggesting that both lab and field experiments are necessary when testing LiDAR detection performance on objects. The results of this study are expected to be useful for organizations conducting research on the use of LiDAR sensors and facilities for LiDAR sensors.
A new cultivar of Hibiscus 'Red Bohanjae' (Hibiscus syriacus 'Red Bohanjae') was developed after crossing between Hibiscus syriacus 'Andong' (♀) with white flowers and Hibiscus syriacus 'Samchully' (♂) with pink flowers to improve flower quality and growth habit. The Hibiscus breeding program was initiated in 2002, and H. syriacus 'Red Bohanjae' was preliminarily selected as '02-RV-17' in 2003 due to its stable flower quality with rich pink flowers and small tree type. The selected line was further evaluated for growth characteristics, leaf shape, leaf size, flowering characteristics, and tested for distinctness, homogeneity, and stability during 2004-2007. The characteristics preserved by grafting. 'Red Bohanjae' showed a small growth habit with slightly upright branches. The tree had potential use as a potted plant or bonsai because of its dwarf form. The new cultivar 'Red Bohanjae' had violet-pink color flowers (RHS N78C) with red eye spots, small size (9.2 cm) and spatulate (I-type) petals. Leaves were 4.2 cm long and 2.3 cm wide. After the evaluation of plant characteristics for 3 years (2005-2007), it was registered as cultivar 'Red Bohanjae' (4118, plant variety protection rights number) in 2012. 'Red Bohanjae' having violet-pink flowers with red eye and dwarf tree form seems to be suitable for pot or bonsai cultivation in both indoor and outdoor conditions.
The purpose of this meta-analysis was to collect data from the literatures reporting prevalence of canine heartworm (HW) infection in an effort to emphasize the preventive importance of the disease and to serve as baseline data for further studies related to the disease management. Fourteen studies regarding the prevalence of HW infection published during the 1996-2007 were identified using the meta-analytic approach, involving a total of 1,790 cases by microfilarial test and 3,277 cases by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) antigen test for adult worms. Data analysis was performed separately for pet and military dogs. The overall apparent prevalence of HW infection in pet dogs by microfilarial test and ELISA was 11.7% (183/1,563) and 16.5% (379/2,302), respectively (p < 0.001). No significant difference in prevalence by microfilaria and ELISA was observed between sexes whether assessed by data separately or pooled together. Compared to before 2000, the prevalence by microfilaria after 2000 has increased from 2.5% to 13.1% (p < 0.001), and the rate of adult worm has also increased from 9.9% to 20.3% (p < 0.001). The prevalence determined by ELISA was found to increase with age: 20.7% (n = 1,003) of dogs older than 2 years were positive, compared with 5.0% of dogs (n = 701) under 2 years of age (p < 0.001). Also, outdoor dogs showed significantly higher prevalence than indoor dogs (37.9% versus 3.4%; p < 0.001). For military dogs, the overall prevalence was 38.3% (87/227; 95% CI, 32.1 - 44.7%) by microfilarial test and 38.5% (375/975; 95% CI, 35.4 - 41.6%) by ELISA. This rate was significantly higher than that of pet dogs (p < 0.001). Occult infection rate of 37.5% and 66.7% was found in pet and military dogs, respectively.

Recently, the retail industry has created efficient store operations, and has differentiated customer service through the future store. The intelligence of these stores is being applied by using technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), and the business process is being improved through this. The process also focuses on efficient store operations and service developments to provide customers with shopping convenience. The change in trends in the industry means that domestic distribution has already reached maturity. Even in countries where retail industries are mature, such as the U.S. and Europe, recent trends are moving toward maximizing operational efficiency and customer service. The reason is that many retailers have already reached saturation and survived the competition. This paper is a study of a drive-through service for automation and efficiency in receiving service after ordering by a customer of the distribution store. When ordering a product being purchased by a customer, the product picking process is done in a timely fashion through a picking scheduling agent. When the customer enters the store parking lot, a service supports the entry of information and finding a parking place so the customer can quickly pick up the goods. The proposed service can be applied to a retail store drive-through system, the distribution store's delivery system, the digital picking system, and indoor/outdoor large parking management systems, and it is possible to provide one-dimensional customer service through the application of IoT technology.
Face tracking and recognition are difficult problems because the face is a non-rigid object. The main reasons for the failure to track and recognize the faces are the changes of a face pose and environmental illumination. To solve these problems, we propose a nonlinear manifold framework for the face pose and the face illumination normalization processing. Specifically, to track and recognize a face on the video that has various pose variations, we approximate a face pose density to single Gaussian density by PCA(Principle Component Analysis) using images sampled from training video sequences and then construct the GMM(Gaussian Mixture Model) for each person. To solve the illumination problem for the face tracking and recognition, we decompose the face images into the reflectance and the illuminance using the SSR(Single Scale Retinex) model. To obtain the normalized reflectance, the reflectance is rescaled by histogram equalization on the defined range. We newly approximate the illuminance by the trained manifold since the illuminance has almost variations by illumination. By combining these two features into our manifold framework, we derived the efficient face tracking and recognition results on indoor and outdoor video. To improve the video based tracking results, we update the weights of each face pose density at each frame by the tracking result at the previous frame using EM algorithm. Our experimental results show that our method is more efficient than other methods.

It was found that test piece heated rapidly by 3 kW microwave for 5 minutes satisfies the targeted temperature and the percentage of moisture content, and the highest rate of weight increase is obtained in case of 120 minute immersion in the mixture of phosphates and heterocyclic compounds, from the result of such analysis as: kiln drying schedule, flame retardent by flammability test, insect resistance by termites, and permeability of combined penetrant for the wood after assigning multifunctional finish by immersing conifer structural frame, which is used for the frame work of wooden house and indoor/outdoor finishing in flame retardant and insect repellent materials mixture with the remaining heat of microwave. In addition, after a test of flame retardent treated item, it was identified that every mixture of phosphates corresponds with the standards of flame retardent, and upon investigation of moritality of 7 days after putting termites, it was showed that test piece immersed in the mixture of phosphates and heterocyclic compounds has the best characteristics, showing over 96% of high moritality. From the analysis of inward permeability of combined penetrant for the wood, it was decided that excellent performance in the flame retardent and insect resistance of the wood revealed due to full penetration of combined penetrant as it was found that combined penetrant penetrated through the whole inner cells of the wood.
The transfer pattern of chlorpyrifos present in soil to cucumber plants were assessed and reported with plant growth, concentration dependency, and duration. Cucumber seedlings cultivated in a growth chamber for 30 days and a greenhouse for 120 days. Weight and length of cucumbers cultivated in the chamber increased with the increasing time, while the uptake of chlorpyrifos by cucumber increased a period from 0 to 15 days and decreased after 15 days. Uptake rates of chlorpyrifos into a cucumber plant were 1.0~1.3% to initial amounts treated with 20 and 40 mg/kg to soil. Most chlorpyrifos residues were detected in root, followed by stem and leaf. Results of the greenhouse test showed that chlorpyrifos amounts in cucumber fruits were present less than LOQ (0.02 mg/kg), and chlorpyrifos was mainly found in the root of the cucumber plant. Chlorpyrifos absorbed in a cucumber under greenhouse condition was smaller than that in chamber condition as 0.03~0.04%. Degradation patterns of chlorpyrifos in soils were similar during indoor and outdoor tests with half-lives of 25.8~73.0 days. These results may be useful for establishing the management strategy of residual pesticides in soil environment.
This experiment was conducted to determine the effects of the pre- and post-harvest variable factors on the processed product of kimchi cabbage cultivated in semi-highland at summer time. Kimchi cabbage cultivar 'Chun Gwang' was grown in an open field and/or under a plastic greenhouse condition; it was stored at 0? after harvesting with low-density polyethylene (LDPE) film packaging. The pre-harvest characteristics growth parameters, fresh weight, head weight, no of leaves, leaf thickness, firmness, moisture content etc. were evaluated. The evaluated postharvest characteristics were fresh weight loss, appearance, trimming loss, SPAD value, moisture content and hue angle. The results show that the fresh weight and leaf thickness were higher in 'Chun Gwang' kimchi cabbages grown in the greenhouse than those in the field. However, the other evaluated factors were not affected by the type of cultural method. During the storage, the cabbage continued to decrease in fresh weight loss, trimming loss and moisture content. When compared to the kimchi cabbage showed significant difference in the fresh weight loss, trimming loss and moisture content during storage. It was confirmed that both cultural methods indoor- and outdoor did not show head growth parameters of 'Chun Gwang' kimchi cabbages on semi-high land at summer time. Although no difference in the growth before storage was observed, the evaluated characteristics like fresh weight loss etc. were influenced by cultural method as a pre-harvest factor. This study suggests that there were to be affected by pre-harvest factor during storage after harvest. In this study, an integrated management system combining relationship between processed agricultural products and their pre- and post-harvest factors.
