A university is a group of individuals searching for and studying the truth, so it is the highest of all education centers. At the same time, a university builds one's character. this infers that leisure activity in a university is a condition that facilitates the ability to create a healthy body and healthy soul. Additionally, active experiences for a human social life take people away from daily stresses and release the tensions of university studies. Therefore, a university campus should be built not only for students researching and studying, but also to aid in the growth of a students body, soul and mind. When creating a university master plan, increasing the number of students, promotion of a good educational environment and preparation of students for future development should be of primary consideration. There are several factors to aid this. The factors are; the academic plan, leisure activity, the belief system of university student and physical and environmental factors. • The relative effects of individual differences in cultural orientation (individualism vs. collectivism) and locus of control (LOC: internal vs. external control beliefs) combination types on global/local processing were compared by manipulating the compound stimulus types (arrows or letters), and the stimulus-stimulus congruence. The results can be summarized as followings. First, consistent with previous research on global/local processing of the compound stimuli, reaction time (RT) for global stimuli than for local stimuli, and that in the stimulus-stimulus congruent condition than in the stimulus-stimulus incongruent condition was faster. Second, faster RT was found in the compound arrows condition than in the compound letters. Third, individual difference in LOC, rather than that in the cultural orientations, appeared to be related to global precedence effect, when the compound letters were presented. These results indicated that the individual's LOC rather than cultural orientation can increase the size of the global precedence effect, which might be involved in the stage of cognitive analysis than that of feature detection.

  • This study focused on examining the impact of the social context that causes gender differences in entrepreneurship, not the phenomenon itself. Specifically, this study verified the moderating effect of the social context on the relationship between gender and entrepreneurship using data from 20 countries in the Global Entrepreneurship Trend Report (GETR). In order to test hypotheses involving social context implications, Hofstede's cultural dimension factors such as power distance, individualism, masculinity, and uncertainty avoidance variables, and institutional factors such as gender equality and social security are used as specific variables reflecting the social context. Empirical analysis through GLM found that gender did not independently influence entrepreneurship, and gender had a significant effect by interacting with power distance, individualism, uncertainty avoidance, gender equality, and social security variables, respectively. Such empirical results show that the gender difference in entrepreneurship is not due to the unique characteristics inherent in each gender but on the level of the country's social context to which the individual belongs.

  • The Korean and the American consumers's attitude toward globalization were compared in the context of cultural values. This study exclusively investigated the effect of traditional versus non-traditional values and the mediating role of fashion involvement. The study sample consists of American and Korean female college students. It was affirmed that long supported categorization of individualism for Western culture and collectivism for Asian or Eastern culture does not seem to characterize the postmodern generation. No major differences between Korea and the U. S. were found in the empirical study except that Americans showed higher levels of cultural values and Koreans associate fashion involvement with global-mindedness more strongly. The impact of cultural values was similar across cultures but the mediating role of fashion involvement was dissimilar depending on the cultural backgrounds of respondents.

  • Our work empirically investigates the cultural differences of Social Networking Service (SNS) users in China, Korea and U.S. We construct a survey questionnaire from existing literature and test it for reliability, validity, and model fit. Then we collect data and validate the cultural differences of SNS users in three nations. Our results show different rankings from existing literature in cultural dimensions about three nations. In terms of masculinity, we find China > U.S. > Korea, similar to Hofstede. In individualism, we find U.S. > Korea > China, different from Hofstede (U.S. > China > Korea). In power distance, it is shown that Korea > China > U.S., different from Hofstede (China > Korea > U.S.). Uncertainty avoidance is found that U.S. > Korea > China, lowered ranking of Korea from the top among three nations in Hofstede. We find that these outcomes would be useful in updating national culture of the three nations and for future research about cultural impacts on SNS adoption.

The Modernism rejected the tradition of the past and pursued something new. This trend was in parallel with the fashion called flapper look which was against the tradition and made drastic change. The factors which represent the spirit of the age the Modernism are the simplicity, the rejection of the tradition, the individualism and the subjectivity, the functionalism, the fragmentation of the self, and the straight line. We discuss the fashion style of the flapper look in terms of these factors.
