퇴직한 남편과 그 부인의 탄력성과 적응분석 (Resilience and Adjustment of Retired Husbands and Wives)

  • This study examined the effect of resilience on the adjustment of retired husbands and their wives. Data was collected from 174 retired husbands and their wives in the Seoul metropolitan area. Collected data were analyzed by mean score, percentile, paired-t tests and regression analyses. The major findings were as follows : 1. There was no significant difference in the adjustments between retired husbands and their wives. 2. Individual resilience, family resilience and social resilience had a strong impact on the adjustment of retired husbands and their wives. Self-esteem, acceptance of retirement, communication between the couple, family cohesion, and retirement policy had a significantly positive impact on the husbands' adjustment. 3. As for the adjustment of the wives, self-esteem, communication between the couple, family cohesion, acceptance of husbands' retirement and religious activity had a significantly positive impact. In summary, this study shows the importance of resilience in the adjustment of retired husbands and their wives.

회복력 (Resilience) 개념 개발 (Concept Development of Resilience)

  • The Resilience is described as the personal capacity which brings psychosocial comeback. The role of nursing is to do its best to rehabilitate patients and to explore the individual in order to promote patients psychosocial change. However, as the current nursing is heavily physical nursing oriented, the identity of the nursing would be lost. Therefore this researcher reviewed if the concept of resilience can be applied to the nursing after examing the concept of resilience by Documents and Fieldwork. The methodology of this research is Hybrid Model developed by Schwartz-Barcott and Kim for the concept development and analysis. The process and procedure consist of The Theoretical Phase, The Fieldwork Phase and The Final Analytical Phase in accodance with the Hybrid Model. The followings the summary of the Research. 1. The Concept of Resilience Finally Analyzed by Documents and Fieldwork (1) The Redefinition of Resilience The resilience is the latent psychosocial capacity which minimize the negative emotion and promote the adaptation under adversity. Resilience appears as cognitive, emotional and behavioral response in the course of changing from negative response to positive response through the interaction of the individual and the enviroments in a given time. Resilience changes and decreases according to time and situation and it can be nurtured. Resilience is the higher concept including hardiness, sense of coherence and self-strength which maintain the health under stress. (2) The Attribute of Resilience The attribute of resilience was devided into psychological and social dimension. In psychological attributes, there are admittion of reality of situation, denial of negative emotion, desire to live, responsibility, confidence, courage, hope, pursuit of positive meaning, identification and pursuit of goal, self-esteem, reception, spontaneity, planning, positiveness, will power, flexibility and creativity. In social attributes, there are a sense of belonging, perception of social support and active social relations. (3) The Process of Resilience There are 4 resilience phases which were the process minimizing the possibility of the negative chain reactions under adversity, the process minimizing the negative emotion under adversity, the process gaining the desire to live and the process exposing the active social relations. 2. The Application Possibility of Resilience Concept to Nursing The resilience concept is the psychosocial capacity with which an individual manages adversity. As many nursing scientists have developed nursing theory based on this capacity and the identification of nursing has been established in this field, resilience is not the new conception in nursing. However, since resilience appears in the attributes related with the resilience process concretely, it would help a lot when nurses execute psychosocial nursing.

Evaluation of a child abuse prevention program for unmarried mothers in South Korea: a single-case experimental design

  • Purpose: This study aimed to implement a child abuse prevention program and evaluate its effectiveness based on the Nursing Model of Resilience and Coping Skills Training Model for unmarried mothers during pregnancy and puerperium. Methods: This study had a prospective single-case, AB design with four repeated self-questionnaire measures and three observational measures. Seven unmarried mothers were provided with 10 sessions child abuse prevention program through individual visits from 32 to 34 weeks of pregnancy to six weeks after childbirth. The questionnaire was composed related to resilience, maternal stress, maternal attitude, parent-child interaction, child abuse potential. The observation was measured by video recording (total 16 times) the interaction of parent-child during feeding and analyzing it by three experts. Data were analyzed by Wilcoxon signed-rank test and Friedman's test. Results: Maternal attitude and parent-child interaction were statistically significantly improved after intervention compared to before intervention. However, maternal stress decreased after intervention compared to before intervention, but it was not statistically significant. Additionally, resilience and child abuse potential were not statistically significant. This program is partially effective in preventing child abuse by promoting parenting attitudes and parent-child interactions. Conclusion: This study focused on individual resilience and applied systematic intervention as coping skills training to prevent child abuse. This study is meaningful in that interventions were conducted through individual visits to unmarried mothers at high risk of child abuse, and the program was applied, including pregnancy and postpartum periods, to prevent child abuse early.

고등학교 청소년의 적응유연성 영향요인 (Predictors of Resilience for High School Adolescents)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to find out the relationship among resilience, coping mechanism, social support and family strengths and to explore the predictors for school adolescents' resilience. Method: The subjects of this study were 296 high school adolescents residing in two urban area in Korea. The subjects completed self-report questionnaires measuring Resilience(Jew, et al., 1997), Coping Mechanism(Carver, et al., 1989), Social Support(Lee, 1997) and Family Strengths(Olson 1982). Results: Socio-demographic characteristics of school adolescents influencing resilience, coping mechanism, social support and family strengths were revealed. The results showed that resilience, problem-focused coping, social support and family strengths were correlated positively and self-esteem support, problem-focused coping, sibling's and mother's help, and instrumental support were the predictors of resilience of school adolescents. Conclusion: We found out the specific attributes of individual, social and family factors which predict resilience for school adolescents. These results may suggest further studies to investigate the relationship between stress and resilience, find out other predictors of resilience for Korean school adolescents, examine whether protective factors for adolescents' problem behaviors influence similarly on resilience.

중환자실 간호사의 회복탄력성, 직무스트레스 및 조직몰입 (Relationships between Resilience, Job Stress, and Organizational Commitment in ICU Nurses)

  • Purpose: This study explored the relationships among resilience, job stress, and organizational commitment in ICU nurses. Further, the possibility of the application of resilience to the hospital environment was evaluated to provide basic data for program development to improve resilience and to promote nurses' commitment to their organizations. Methods: Data were collected from 174 ICU nurses at A University Hospital. The cross-sectional descriptive survey was conducted using a structured questionnaire. Results: The mean resilience score was $2.41{\pm}0.47$ out of 4. The mean score for job stress was $3.60{\pm}0.36$ out of 5, and that for organizational commitment was $3.25{\pm}0.55$ out of 5. Analysis of the relationships between the participants' resilience and organizational commitment indicated a significantly positive correlation (r=.45, p<.001). According to the general characteristics, organizational commitment levels showed a significant difference according to the ICU type (F=1.38, p<.001). Conclusion: It may beconcluded that the important individual factor of resilience had a positive influence on organizational commitment. Thus, resilience should be actively promoted, and a program should be developed to enhance the resilience of ICU nurses.

  • Today the educational authorities selected 38 Meister High Schools which are based on industry demand out of 691 high schools nationwide to make the vocational high schools do their original purposes and to innovate vocation education. The purposes of this study are to analyze the relationship between the school environment and career maturity and the school adjustment resilience and, based on the results, to suggest improvement plans to improve business environment for the maritime Meister High Schools. To analyze the influence of the school environment and students' career maturity on their school adjustment resilience, the researcher used the teachers's professionalism, school facilities, students' entrance motivation, career guidance depending on the individual and the school meal quality as the school environment factors of the independent factors. As dependent factors, the researcher selected school environment, teachers, class preparation of the individual, level of school life such as an attitude level and school rule observance, and peer relation.

회복탄력성이 조직구성원의 혁신행동에 미치는 영향 - 조직지원과 실책관리문화의 조절효과 - (The effects of Resilience on employee's Innovative Work Behavior : moderating effect of Organizational Support and Organizational Error Management Culture)

  • 사람은 누구나 다 살아가면서 역경과 어려움을 겪기 마련이다. 하지만 부정적인 생활사건이나 스트레스를 경험하는 사람들이 모두 신체적, 심리적으로 부정적인 결과물은 내는 것은 아니다. 즉, 개인이 이용할 수 있는 자원에 따라 스트레스나 역경의 상황에 유연하게 대처하거나, 성공적으로 극복하고, 적응하고, 혁신적인 성과를 보이기도 한다. 본 연구에서는 동일한 상황에서 위기나 위협의 요인들을 완화시킬 수 있는 개인적 속성, 즉 회복탄력성의 중요성을 강조하며, 회복탄력성의 결과요인으로 혁신행동에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 살펴보고자 한다. 또한 개인특성인 회복탄력성과 혁신행동의 관계에 조직변수 즉, 환경적 요인으로 조직지원과 실책관리문화의 조절효과도 검증해보고자 한다. 이러한 연구목적에 따라 본 연구는 195명의 조직구성원을 표본으로 하여 회복탄력성이 혁신행동에 미치는 영향력과 이러한 관계에 대한 상사지원, 동료지원, 실책관리문화의 조절효과를 검증하였다. 연구 결과, 회복탄력성은 조직구성원의 혁신행동에 정(+)의 영향을 미치며, 상사지원과 실책관리문화는 회복탄력성과 혁신행동 간 영향력을 조절하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 조직구성원이 급변하는 조직외부환경에 적응하고 진취적이고 역동적이며, 도전적인 혁신행동을 발휘함에 있어 개인적 특성인 회복탄력성과 조직상황 변수인 조직지원과 실책관리문화가 긍정적 영향을 미칠 수 있다는 시사점을 제공한다. 즉, 조직에서는 조직구성원 개인의 회복탄력성을 발현하고 키울 수 있는 교육프로그램 제공 및 조직 분위기 조성이 필요하며, 실패를 두려워하지 않는 조직문화와 상사 및 동료 간 지원이 혁신행동을 증대시킬 수 있음을 알 수 있다.

가족 레질리언스에 대한 선행연구 고찰: 현황과 과제 (Review and Prospects for Research on Family Resilience)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the trends, research methodology and findings of various researches on family resilience published in Korea over the past 13 years. A total of 93 publications related to family resilience between 1999 and June of 2012 were analyzed; 72 journal articles and 21 doctoral dissertations which had not been published in academic journals. The results are as follows; (1) There has been steady increase in the number of related researches since 1999, with a significant increase since the mid-2000s as various nontraditional families emerged and the perception of family problems began to change. (2) With regards to the methodology, the majority of the studies were empirical, using quantitative methods in both data collection and analysis. Most measurement scales employed were based on inventories developed by foreign researchers. (3) The research subjects encompass a wide range of individuals and groups from both vulnerable families and families from the general population. Additionally, some researches focused on special interest areas including program development & evaluation and scale development. Although research on family resilience has increased in quantity, there needs to be more qualitative, longitudinal and theory grounded studies on different families and individual types to better understand family resilience in depth. In addition, specific measurement scales reflecting the unique Korean family culture should be developed. Other challenges and suggestions for future research on family resilience are discussed.

간호학생 회복탄력성(Resilience) 연구의 동향 -융합적 관점 (The Trends of the Research on Resilience in Korean Nursing Students -Perspectives of Convergence)

  • 본 연구는 간호대학생을 대상으로 시행된 회복탄력성 연구의 동향을 융합적 관점에서 파악하고자 시도되었다. 2010년 1월부터 2017년 12월 까지 국내 학술지에 게재된 87편의 논문을 대상으로 분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 회복탄력성 개념은 6가지 용어로 서로 다르게 정의되어 사용되고 있었고, 양적 연구의 비중(99%)이 매우 높았다. 또한 개인과 대학 차원에서 다양한 보호요인, 변화요인, 위험요인이 분류되었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 회복탄력성이 미래의 간호사인 간호대학생들의 전공 적응에 매우 중요한 요인임을 확인할 수 있었으나, 향후 연구 시 명료한 용어 정의와 적절한 측정 도구의 선택이 강조되어야 하며 다양한 설계를 적용한 연구가 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

치과위생사의 성격유형에 따른 전문직 정체성과 회복탄력성 및 직무만족도 연구 (A study on professional identity, resilience, and job satisfaction according to the personality types of dental hygienists)

  • Objectives: This study analyzes professional identity, resilience, and job satisfaction based on the personality types of dental hygienists, and identifies factors that impact job satisfaction. The aim was to provide basic information for developing customized education programs for each personality type, which consequently contribute toward improvement of job satisfaction in dental hygienists. Methods: A total of 215 dental hygienists working at dental hospitals and clinics in the Seoul and Gyeonggi provinces were ask to fill an online survey from June 20 to 30, 2022; of these, 214 surveys were considered for statistical analysis. Results: The professional identity of dental hygienists was correlated with resilience (r=0.750) and job satisfaction (r=0.452), and resilience was correlated with job satisfaction (r=0.539) (p<0.001). The factor affecting job satisfaction of dental hygienists was resilience (β=0.495) (p<0.001). Conclusions: In order to improve the job satisfaction of dental hygienists, it is necessary to implement a test that can identify individual characteristics. Accordingly, it will be necessary to develop a customized education program to improve professional identity and resilience.
