Mulberry being the only food of silkworm, Bombyx mori L., is of great economic importance to the silk industry, The success in cocoon production mainly depends on the supply of quality leaves in sufficient quantity. In mulberry, where the economic product is leaf, the uptake of nitrogen from soil is very heavy and high responses to application of nutrients have been reported. Nitrogen supports vegetative growth particularly the leaf biomass. Variation in nitrogen harvest index and other physiological and yield contributing traits were estimated in five mulberry genotypes. Considerable variation was observed for nitrogen harvest index, protein yield per plant and harvest index. The correlation studies indicated the protein yield per plant was significantly correlated with leaf yield, nitrogen content in leaf, nitrogen harvest index and harvest index. The broad sense heritability estimates revealed that harvest index showed highest heritability (88.07%) followed by nitrogen content (82.52%), protein yield (70.28%) and nitrogen harvest index (66.52%).

This study examines the foremost concerns related to most noted research performance index. The most popular and widely acceptable h-index underestimates the highly visible scientist, the middle order group, due to citation distribution issues. The study addresses this issue and uses 'Corrected Quality Ratio' (CQ) to check the implicit underpinnings as evident in h-index. CQ helps to incorporate the aspects of a good research performance indicator. This simple revision performs more intimately and logically to gauge the broader research impact for all groups and highly visible scientists with less statistical error.

Greenwich and Jahr-Schaffrath(1995) considered a new process incapability index(PII) $C_{pp}$, which modified the useful index $C^{\ast}_{pm}{$ for detecting assignable causes. The new index $C_{pp}$ provides an uncontaminated separation between information concerning the process accuracy and precision while this kind of information separation is not available with the $C^{\ast}_{pm}$ index. In this paper, we will study about the index $C_{pp}$ based on the bootstrap. First, we will prove the consistency of bootstrap deriving the bootstrap asymptotic distribution for our index $C_{pp}$. Moreover, with the consistency of bootstrap, we will construct six bootstrap confidence intervals and compare their performances. Some simulation results, comparison and analysis are provided. In particular, two STUD and ABC bootstrap methods perform significantly better.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the casual relationship among Housing Transaction Index, Jeonse Rental Index and Interest Rate. To analyze the influence of interest rate in more detail, CD Interest rate and Spread are used as variables. Granger Casualty Test is used as a analysis tool, As a result, Spread is the cause variable of the Housing Transaction Index and the Housing Transaction Index is the cause variable of the CD Interest Rate. And also, CD Interest rate influences the Jeonse Rental Index and the Jeonse Rental Index has influence on the other variables.

This study was motivated by the purpose of improving the O-Index, currently used to quantify water tasty. The authors first develop the M-Index after normalizing Ca, K, and $SiO_{2}$ concentrations in the spring water, in that the concentrations are subject to their log-normal distributions. The M-Index is then compared with the O-Index based on the results of sensory tests, revealing that sensory tests are correlated with the M-Index much more than the O-Index. Furthermore, the developed index is applied to evaluate water sampled from 53 springs in Korea. It is concluded that water, sampled from five most famous springs, has high values in M-Index. In addition, water, collected from springs that are relatively accessible, contains low values, and thus is expected not to tasty good.

한 논문에 대하여 참고문헌의 인용빈도로 원 논문을 평가하는 outgrow index와, 인용논문의 인용빈도로 원 논문을 평가하는 single paper h-index를 비교해보았다. KCI 문헌정보학 분야 논문을 대상으로 시험 적용해본 결과 outgrow index의 값과 single paper h-index의 값이 비례하지 않음을 알 수 있었다. 한 논문을 outgrow index와 single paper h-index로 분석하여 다면적인 논문 평가 도구로 활용될 가능성을 검토해본다.

This study is to identify the characteristics of the growth and deveolpment, and to assess Obesity Index, BMI and Kaup Index of infants paticipated in a healthy breast-feeding contest. The subjects of this study were 94 breast- feeding infants, ages from 6 to 8 months. Their weight and height were measured and compared with Korean Standards. Their developmental state was tested by DDST(Denver Develop- mental Screening Test) standardized in Korea. The data were analyzed by using the SPSS-WIN 10.0. The result is as follows : 1. The weight of infants was more than Korean Standards, but the height was less. 2. There were statistically significant differences in Obesity Index, BMI and Kaup Index. Obese infants estimated by Obesity Index were about 10％, but by BMI and Kaup Index were 35.1％ and 27.7％. 3. Spearman's rhos of Obesity Index and Kaup Index, Obesity Index and BMI, and Kaup Index and BMI were individually 0.526, 0.528 and 0.753. In conclusion, BMI should be added to the criteria for assessing healthy breast-feeding infants.

The objective of this paper is to examine the competitiveness of Korean export firms in EU market. In this study, market share index, RCA index, trade specialization index, and market competitiveness index were used as an analytical tool. On the market share index, Korea had a large market share in the SITC section 7(machinery and transport equipment) market in EU. On the RCA index, Korea appeared to have high export competitiveness in the electrical machinery, apparatus and appliances, n.e.s.(not elsewhere specified[stated]), and electrical parts thereof (77), travel goods, handbags and similar containers(83), textile yarn, fabrics, made-up articles, n.e.s., and related products(65), and iron and steel(67) division. On the trade specialization index, however, Korea appeared to tend to decline generally. On the market competitiveness index, Korea appeared to have competitive advantage in the iron and steel(67), machinery specialized for particular industries(72), office machines and automatic data-processing machines(75), electrical machinery, apparatus and appliances, n.e.s., and electrical parts thereof(77), road vehicles(78), and other transport equipment(79) division; but in 29 divisions, the index indicates that Korean firms' competitiveness was low. Finally, the authors discuss the implications of these findings and offer directions for future study.

Objectives : This research is performed to arrange oral health improvement program and improve the quality of life by raising total health index of male workers. The relationship between the oral health, oral health index and total health index of workers are investigated through the direct or indirect effects based on structural equational modeling. Methods : Total 272 people who work in Gyeong-Nam province participated in this survey. Results : Oral health knowledge has an meaningful direct effects on the oral health practice with ${\gamma}$=.259 and dietary pattern with ${\gamma}$=.224. Total health index has indirect relationship with the oral health index with ${\beta}$=.141 and dietary pattern has direct relationship with the oral health index with ${\beta}$=.315. The oral health index has direct relationship with total health index with ${\beta}$=.454. Conclusions : Our research shows that there is meaningful relationship between the oral health, oral health index and total health index of workers. The systematic and continuous programs for oral health should be transferred to workers for the raise of oral health and the quality of the life.

In the lossless step of Lattice Vector Quantization(LVQ), the lattice codewords produced at quantization step are enumerated into radius sequence and index sequence. The radius sequence is run-length coded and then entropy coded, and the index sequence is represented by fixed length binary bits. As bit rate increases, the index bit linearly increases and deteriorates the coding performances. To reduce the index bits across the wide range of bit rates, we developed a novel lattice enumeration algorithm adopting the set partitioning method. The proposed enumeration method shifts down large index values to smaller ones and so reduces the index bits. When the proposed lossless coding scheme is applied to a wavelet based image coding, the proposed scheme achieves more than 10% at bit rates higher than 0.3 bits/pixel over the conventional lossless coding method, and yields more improvement as bit rate becomes higher.
