언덕형 굴절률 분포를 갖는 굽은 평판도파로에서의 누설모드 해석 (Leaky modes of circular slab waveguides: modified airy functions)

  • 원형으로 굽은 평판 광도파로를 직선 광도파로로 등각사상화 시켰다. 단조 증가하는 굴절률 분포를 갖는 바깥쪽 클래드영역의 누설모드를 표현하기 위해 진행파형 수정된 Airy함수가 처음으로 소개되었다. 모의 전산을 통해 유도된 방법에 의한 굽음손실 및 field해 분포를 계산하고, WKB에 의한 결과와 비교하였다. 모의 전산결과 기존의 WKB 방법에 비해 회기점에서 수렴하는 해를 구할 수 있었으며, 더 정확한 굽음 손실을 계산할 수 있었다.

  • In this paper, we propose a new algorithm based on multi-resolution application of the parameter space to the Hough transform technique. The existing Hough transform technique employs mapping of fixed parameter space in order to extract straight lines from image. One of the difficulties of the existing Hough transform technique lies in the detection of multiple adjacent lines for only one line. Increasing the parameter space from the low level resolution to the high level resolution, our algorithm detects straight line in a stable and efficient fashion. Experimental results are included to verity the performance of proposed algorithm.

  • Advance of neuroimaging technique has greatly influenced recent brain research field. Among various neuroimaging modalities, positron emission tomography has played a key role in molecular neuroimaging though functional MRI has taken over its role in the cognitive neuroscience. As the analysis technique for PET data is more sophisticated, the complexity of the method is more increasing. Despite the wide usage of the neuroimaging techniques, the assumption and limitation of procedures have not often been dealt with for the clinician and researchers, which might be critical for reliability and interpretation of the results. In the current paper, steps of voxel-based statistical analysis of PET including preprocessing, intensity normalization, spatial normalization, and partial volume correction will be revisited in terms of the principles and limitations. Additionally, new image analysis techniques such as surface-based PET analysis, correlational analysis and multimodal imaging by combining PET and DTI, PET and TMS or EEG will also be discussed.

  • Calibration is a prerequisite procedure for employing a camera as a 3D sensor in an automated machines like robots. As accurate sensing is possible only when the vision sensor is calibrated accurately, many different approaches and models have been proposed for increasing calibration accuracy. Particularly an important factor which greatly affects the calibration accuracy is the nonlinearity in the mapping between 3D world and corresponding 2D image. In this paper GMDH algorithm is used to learn the nonlinearity without physical modelling. The technique proposed can be effective in various situations where the levels of noises and characteristics of nonlinear distortion are different. In simulations and an experiment, the proposed technique showed good and reliable results.

  • 수치지도 및 원격측양기술의 발달과 지형정보수집기술의 자동화 추세는 공학분야의 계획과 설계에 있어서 수치지형모델의 사용을 증가시키고 있다. 본 연구에서는 도로의 자동화 설계시, 수치지형모델을 사용함에 있어 여러가지 보간법에 의한 토공양 산출방법을 고찰 하였다. 수치해석시험 결과, $BL_{in}$-1모델(쌍일차함수)을 이용한 도로의 토공양 산정방법이 $L_{in}$-1과 $BL_{in}$-2 모델보다 신뢰성이 좋다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

Characteristics of Breeding Bird Communities in Mt. Namsan, Seoul, Korea

  • This study was conducted to clarify the characteristics of breeding bird communities between deciduous and coniferous forests from April to June 2005 in Mt. Namsan, Seoul, Korea. Two 10ha areas were selected for territory mapping of breeding bird communities. Number of breeding bird species, pairs,density and bird species diversity index were higher in deciduous forest with increasing amount of foliage in the forest profile or as forest structures developed compared with coniferous forest. The number of in coniferous forest. The differences in habitat structure between both study areas are very likely to have influenced how breeding birds used the available habitat. Forest structure and its interactions with birds should be consideration in forest management for birds and their habitat.

Neutron diagnostics using nickel foil activation analysis in the KSTAR

  • The spatial distribution and the energy spectrum of the neutron yield were investigated with the neutron activation analysis and MCNP simulation was carried out to verify the analysis results and to extend the results to a 3D mapping of the neutron yield distribution in the KSTAR. High purity Ni specimen was selected in the neutron activation analysis. Total neutron yields turned out to be 3.76 × 1012 n/s - 7.56 × 1012 n/s at the outer vessel of the KSTAR, two orders of magnitude lower than those at the inner vessel of the KSTAR, which demonstrates the attenuation of neutron yield while passing through the different structural materials of the reactor. Based on the fully expanded 3D simulation results, 2D cross-sectional distributions of the neutron yield on XY and ZX planes of KSTAR were examined. The results reveal that the neutron yield has its maximum concentration near the center of blanket and decreases with increasing proximity to the vacuum vessel wall.

A Study of Data Interoperability System using DBaaS for Mobility Handicapped

  • As the number of "Mobility Handicapped" increases, the incidence of "Mobility Handicapped" traffic accidents is also increasing. In order to reduce the incidence of traffic accidents in the "Mobility Handicapped", a service providing system for "Mobility Handicapped" is required. Since these services have different data formats, data heterogeneity occurs. Therefore, the system should resolve the data heterogeneity by mapping the format of the data. In this paper, we design DBaaS as a mobility handicapped system for data interoperability. This system provides a service to extend the flashing time of the traffic lights according to the condition of "Mobility Handicapped" on the occurrence of a fall or a crosswalk in a crosswalk where there is a risk of a traffic accident. These services can reduce the incidence of traffic accidents in "Mobility Handicapped".

  • The amount of data is increasing significantly as information and communication technology advances, mobile, cloud computing, the Internet of Things and social network services become commonplace. As the data grows exponentially, there is a growing demand for services that recommend the information that users want from large amounts of data. Collaborative filtering method is commonly used in information recommendation methods. One of the problems with collaborative filtering-based recommendation method is the cold start problem. In this paper, we propose a method to improve the cold start problem. That is, it solves the cold start problem by mapping the item evaluation data that does not exist to the initial user to the automatically generated data from the mobile app. We describe the main contents of the proposed method and explain the proposed method through the book recommendation scenario. We show the superiority of the proposed method through comparison with existing methods.

Knowledge Mapping of Robotic Applications in Tourism and Hospitality

  • The use of robots in tourism and hospitality contexts have drawn increasing scholarly and practical regard. Although the number of recent robotics related studies continue to grow, a general knowledge map, which is important to point out promising directions for future studies, remains to be made. To understand the application of robotics in tourism and hospitality, this study conducts descriptive and bibliometric analysis to present a holistic knowledge map of this specific field where research trend, key contributors, highly cited references, and popular themes were identified. Collaboration networks among institutes and regions were additionally illustrated. Collaboration across fields, industries, and perspectives were encouraged following the findings and both theoretical and practical implications are accordingly provided.
