  • This paper presents a vector control implementation for PMSM using Real Time Workshop and Embedded Target for TI C2000 DSP in MATLAB/SIMULINK. Speed, current and vector controllers are easily designed and implemented by using the MATLAB/SIMULINK program. Feedback of motor speed is processed through C28x QEP(Quadrature Encoder Pulse) block from encoder pulse. 3-Phase currents ares processed through C28x ADC block from current sensors. And gating signal of PWM inverter is generated through SVPWM and PWM block. Real-time program is drawn using SIMULINK and then converted program code for speed control of PMSM is downloaded into the TI eZdsp 2812 board. Experiments were carried out to examine validity of the proposed vector control implementation.

  • channel is severely degraded by multipath delay time spread. In this paper. We propose a simple multipath delay time detection method, which has a merit of in serviceable, yet simple H/W realizability for $\pi/4$ shift QPSK by detecting cross channel interference. A $\pi/4$ shift QPSK signal originally has quadrature channel(Q-ch) component. Thus in order to measure CCI between in-phase channel(I-ch) and quadrature channel(Q-ch), which closely related to multipath delay time, Frequency doubling scheme(frequency doubler) and differential detector is proposed, which makes $\pi/4$ shift QPSK signal look like BPSK and also makes it possible for CCI to be detected at I-ch detector output. To get an information from time varying I-ch output signal under the multipath lading environment, a method for obtaining the mean of the absolute value$(V_{MABS}(t))$ and another one for obtaining the root mean square value$(V_{RMS}(t))$ of CCI are proposed. Furthermore, a relationship between delay spread and CCI is also analyzed. In order to confirm theoretical results, computer simulation has been carried out under the quasi-static and Reyleigh distributed two ray multipath fading environments. A fairly good result was obtained. However it was also shown that this method is sensitive to bandwidth restriction to some extent. In addition, some idea for a simple hardware realization for the frequency doubler are given.

  • In this paper, we have studied the enhancement of the acoustic image by combining bases of support for SFR (Spatial Frequency Response) taken at multi-frequencies. The scanning acoustic microscope system have been constructed using the quadrature detector that is able to measure the amplitude and phase of the reflected signal simultaneously. Both real and quadrature components of reflected signal have been acquired at 4.4 ㎒ to 5.6 ㎒ reliably and accurately. In this experimental result, better depth resolution can be obtained by numerically combining images taken at several different frequencies. Image intensity have been better about 3.4 times at multi-frequency than one at a single frequency.

  • $GQ^2PSK$ which is a novel digital mobile communication modulation scheme has been introduced and described. $GQ^2PSK$ is a modulation scheme that bandlimits NRZ digital data with Gaussian filter and modulates it by $Q^2PSK$ scheme which uses two shaping pulses and two carriers which are pairwise quadrature. Thus transmission bit rate can be enhanced and available signal space dimensions are more efficiently utilized, with comparison to the already-existing GMSK, QPSK and OQPSK modulation methods. Via the computer simulation, bit error rate of $GQ^2PSK$ scheme which is bandlimited by gaussian filter to be suitable for digital mobil communication, is lower than that of $Q^2PSK$ by 1.4[dB] in case that the signal-to-noise ration is 0[dB], but we have confirmed that $GQ^2PSK$ modulation scheme is approximately equivalent to the GMSK in the respect of power efficiency, and transmission efficiency of $GQ^2PSK$ is improved to 1.5 times than that of GMSK.

  • This paper proposes a cascaded boost type inverter system to compensate the voltage sag. If the voltage sag has appeared in input voltage, a cascaded boost converter would be operated to compensate voltage sag. The output voltage is kept constant by a direct-quadrature frame controller in the single-phase PWM inverter. The validity of proposed system is verified by simulation on the 300W cascaded boost type inverter system.

  • Vibration control of a composite plate with a surface-bonded fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensor and piezoceramic actuators has been performed using a neural network based adaptive predictive control algorithm. For the detection of Bragg wavelength changes, two cavity lengths in Fabry-Perot read-out interferometers are used in order to produce two quadrature phase shifted signals. The FBG sensor system and real-time neuro-adaptive control algorithm could be applicable to diverse dynamic systems.

  • In the OFDM system, IQ imbalance problem happens at the RF front-end of transceiver, which degrades the BER(bit error rate) performance because it affects the constellation in the received signal. Also, phase noise is generated in the local oscillator of transceivers and it destroys the orthogonality between the subcarriers. Conventional PNS algorithm is effective for phase noise suppression, but it is not useful anymore when there are jointly IQ(In-phase and Quadrature) imbalance and phase noise. Therefore, in this paper, we analyze the effect of IQ imbalance and phase noise generated in the down-conversion of the receiver. Then, we estimate and compensate the IQ imbalance and phase noise at the same time. Compared with the conventional method that IQ imbalance after IFFT is estimated and compensated in front of FFT via the feedback, this proposed method extracts and compensates effect of IQ imbalance after FFT stage. In case IQ imbalance and phase noise exist at the same time, we can decrease complexity because it is needless to use elimination of IQ imbalance in time domain and training sequences and preambles. Also, this method shows that it reduces the ICI and CPE component using adaptive forgetting factor of MMSE after FFT.

  • A multi-code biorthogonal code keying(MBCK) system consists of multiple waveform coding block, and the sum of output codewords is transmitted. Drawback of MBCK is that it requires amplifier with high linearity because its output symbol is multi-level. MBCK with constant amplitude preceding blcok(CA-MBCK) has been proposed, which guarantees sum of orthogonal codes to have constant amplitude. Redundant bits of CA-MBCK for constant amplitude coding are not only used to make constant amplitude signal but also used to improve the bit error rate(BER) performance at receiver. In this paper, we proposed a transmission scheme which combine CA-MBCK with $Q^{2}PSK$ to improve bandwidth efficiency of CA-MBCK. The BER performance of the scheme is same that of CA-MBCK in additive white gaussian noise(AWGN). And we showed that BER performance of the proposed system can be improved using redundant bits of constant amplitude preceding.

  • In this paper, we have proposed a clock recovery algorithm of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing/Quadrature Phase Shift Keying Modulation-Digital Microwave Radio(OFDM/QPSK-DMR) system using Band Limited-Pulse Shaping Filter(BL-PSF) and compared the clock phase error variance of OFDM/QPSK-DMR system with that of single carrier DMR system. The OFDM/QPSK-DMR system using windowing method requires training sequence or Cyclic Prefix (CP) to synchronize the clock phase of received signal. But transmit efficient is increased in our proposed DMR system because of no using redundant data such as training sequence or CP. The proposed clock recovery algorithm is simply realized in the OFDM/QPSK-DMR system using BL-PSF. The simulation results confirm that the proposed clock recovery algorithm has the same clock phase error variance performance in a single carrier DR system under Additive White Gaussian Noise(AWGN) environment.

  • The main objective of this paper is to study vibration of sandwich open cylindrical panel with damaged core and FG face sheets based on three-dimensional theory of elasticity. The structures are made of a damaged isotropic core and two external face sheets. These skins are strengthened at the nanoscale level by randomly oriented Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and are reinforced at the microscale stage by oriented straight fibers. These reinforcing phases are included in a polymer matrix and a three-phase approach based on the Eshelby-Mori-Tanaka scheme and on the Halpin-Tsai approach, which is developed to compute the overall mechanical properties of the composite material. Three complicated equations of motion for the panel under consideration are semi-analytically solved by using 2-D differential quadrature method. Several parametric analyses are carried out to investigate the mechanical behavior of these multi-layered structures depending on the damage features, through-the-thickness distribution and boundary conditions. It is seen that for the large amount of power-law index "P", increasing this parameter does not have significant effect on the non-dimensional natural frequency parameters of the FG sandwich curved panel. Results indicate that by increasing the value of isotropic damage parameter "D" up to the unity (fully damaged core) the frequency would tend to become zero. One can dictate the fiber variation profile through the radial direction of the sandwich panel via the amount of "P", "b" and "c" parameters. It should be noticed that with increase of volume fraction of fibers, the frequency parameter of the panels does not increase necessarily, so by considering suitable amounts of power-law index "P" and the parameters "b" and "c", one can get dynamic characteristics similar or better than the isotropic limit case for laminated FG curved panels.
