NFR 슬라이더의 동특성 분석 (Dynamic Analysis of NFR Slider)

  • Dynamic analysis using impulse responses is formulated to estimate effect of slider rail shape on dynamic responses. Impulse responses are obtained on numerical nonlinear model including rigid motion of slider and fluid motion of air bearing under the slider. Dynamic characteristics of slider motion are evaluated by utilizing the decay ratio of impulse responses and modal frequencies from frequency response functions. The dynamic characteristics of the developed NFR(Near Field Recording) slider are checked by comparing those of HDD sider(Nutcracker). Also, sensitivities of slider position conditions and rotation speed on the dynamic characteristics are investigated. The researches show that the utilized method is a good indicator of designing the better slider.

파라메트릭 횡동요 수치해석의 민감도 및 불확실성에 대한 연구 (Study on Numerical Sensitivity and Uncertainty in the Analysis of Parametric Roll)

  • This study considers the numerical analysis on parametric roll for container ships. As a method of numerical simulation, an impulse-response-function approach is applied in time domain. A systematic study is carried out for the parametric roll of two container ships, particularly observing the sensitivity of computational results to some parameters which can affect the analysis of parametric roll. The parameters to be considered are metacentric height (GM), simulation time window, and the discretization of wave spectrum. Based on the result of parametric roll simulation, numerical sensitivity and uncertainty in computational analysis are discussed.

  • 풍하중이 작용하는 교량의 응답을 구하기 위하여 RFA(Rational Function Approximation)와 같은 시간 영역해석법이 널리 사용되고 있다. 교량 단면의 공기역학적 특성을 정의하는 플러터 계수는 주파수 영역에서 정의되기 때문에, 시간 영역해석을 위하여 inverse Fourier transform을 통해 얻어진 impulse response function을 이용한 중첩 적분법이 제안되었다. 시간 영역해석을 위해서는 플러터 계수에 상관성이 존재해야 함을 밝히고, 최적화 방법을 이용하여 시간 영역 해석을 위한 플러터 계수 산정법을 제안하고자 한다. B/D=20의 구형 단면에 적용하여 제안한 방법의 타당성을 검증하고자 한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 음파를 이용하여 덕트 내 길이 방향으로의 불균일 단면적을 역문제적으로 측정하는 방법에 대해서 연구하였다. 음파를 사사용하여 덕트 단면적을 구하는 이론 및 실험방법 등에 대해서 많은 연구가 되어왔으나, 본 연구에서는 덕트 내 충격응답을 구하고 이를 재구성 알고리즘에 대입하여 덕트 내 단면적을 구하는 방법을 채택하였다. 충격 가진을 통하여 덕트 내 충격응답을 구하는 기존 방법의 문제점을 살펴보았고, 광대역 가진 방법을 새로 제안하였다. 실험 및 이론적 고찰을 통하여 새로운 방법이 기존의 방법보다 면적 재구성 오차가 적음을 보였다. 덕트 단면적을 재구성 할 때의 오차 원인과 불규칙 잡음에 의한 오차범위를 파악하기 위하여 오차해석을 수행하여 음파를 이용한 면적 재구성 방법의 적용범위 및 대상을 명확히 하였다.

  • In this paper an approach for the analysis of the transient field response of radially symmetric transducer due to a wideband ultrasonic pulse is presented, which is based on a development of Green's function and applies the linear system theory to obtain an analytic expression for the impulse response of an annulus with a planar or spherical geometry. For the focused annular array, the impulse responses of the indivisual annuli are convolved with the delayed excitation pulse, and then summed to obtain the resultant response of the array. This process is very effective in the study of the various focusing abilities of the annular array. For illustration, the field distribution of a five element annular array is treated in detail for several focusing system.

  • It has been considered that scattered sounds have a positive effect on a hearing impression of a sound filed. This study investigates the degree and the quality of a scattered sound field by using the acoustical parameters and autocorrelation function(ACF) of impulse responses. The acoustical parameters and fine structure of the ACF of an impulse response were used for the evaluation of the scattered sound field. The relationship between the scattering coefficient of surfaces with various hemisphere diffuser configurations and the acoustical parameters and ACF parameters of impulse responses was investigated.

The Effect of COVID-19 Pandemic on Stock Market: An Empirical Study in Saudi Arabia

  • The objective of the study is to investigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Saudi Arabia stock market. The study relied on the data of the daily closing stock market price index Tadawul All Share Index (TASI), and the number of daily cases infected with COVID-19 during the period from March 15, 2020, to August 10, 2020. The study employs the Vector Auto-Regressive (VAR) model, the Impulse Response Function (IRF) and Autoregressive Conditional Heteroscedasticity (ARCH) models. The results of the correlation matrix and the Impulse Response Function (IRF) show that stock market returns responded negatively to the growth in COVID-19 infected cases during the pandemic. The results of ARCH model confirmed the negative impact of COVID-19 pandemic on KSA stock market returns. The results also showed that the negative market reaction was strong during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. The study concluded that stock market in KSA responded quickly to the COVID-19 pandemic; the response varies over time according to the stage of the pandemic. However, the Saudi government's response time and size of the stimulus package have played an important role in alleviating the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on Saudi Arabia Stock Market.

FRF 누설오차 개선에 의한 전달함수 합성법의 향상 (An Enhancement of Transfer Function Synthesis by Improving the Leakage Error of FRF)

  • The frequency response function(FRF) of each substructure is used for the transfer function synthesis method(TFS). The dynamic characteristics of the full system are obtained by synthesizing FRFs of each substructure. The validation of TFS depends on accuracy for FRF of each substructure. Impact hammer testing is widely used to obtain the modal characteristics of structures. However, the FRF obtained from impact hammer testing contains several errors, such as finite record length error and leakage error of which characteristic depends on data acquisition time which we call record length. In this paper, a method to remove these errors is proposed so as to enhance results of TFS. Numerical examples show that the FRF of full structure can be predicted exactly by the method proposed in this paper.

Wideband Time-Frequency Symbols and their Applications

  • We generalize the widebane P0-weyl symbol (P0WS) and the widebane spreading function (WSF) using the generalized warping function . The new generalized P0WS and WSF are useful for analyzing system and communication channels producing generalized time shifts. We also investigated the relationship between the affine Wey1 symbol(AWS) and the P0WS. By using specific warping functions, we derive new P0WS and WSF as analysis tools for systems and communication channels with non-linear group delary characteristics. The new P0WS preserves specific types of changes imposed on random processes. The new WSF provides a new interpretation of output of system and communication channel as weighted superpositions of non-linear time shifts on the input. It is compared to the conventional method obtaining output of system and communication channel as a convention integration of the input with the impulse response of the system and the communication channel. The convolution integration can be interpreted as weighted superpositions of liner time shifts on the input where the weight is the impulse response of the system and the communication channel. Application examples in analysis and detection demonstrate the advantages of our new results.
