Statement of problem: HA has been used as a coating material on Ti implants to improve osteoconductivity. However. it is difficult to form uniform HA coatings on implants with complex surface geometries using a plasma spraying technique. Purpose : To determine if Ti6Al4V sintered porous-surfaced implants coated with HA sol-gel coated and hydrothermal treated would accelerate osseointegration. Materials and Methods : Porous implants which were made by electric discharge were used in this study. Implants were anodized and hydrothermal treatment or HA sol-gel coating was performed. Hydrothermal treatment was conducted by high pressure steam at $300^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours using a autoclave. To make a HA sol, triethyl phosphite and calcium nitrate were diluted and dissolved in anhydrous ethanol and mixed. Then anodized implant were spin-coated with the prepared HA sols and heat treated. Samples were soaked in the Hanks solution with pH 7.4 at $37^{\circ}C$ for 6 weeks. The microstructure of the specimens was observed with a scanning electron microscope (SEM), and the composition of the surface layer was analyzed with an energy dispersive spectroscope (EDS). Results : The scanning electron micrographs of HA sol-gel coated and hydrothermal treated surface did not show any significant change in the size or shape of the pores. After immersion in Hanks' solution the precipitated HA crystals covered macro- and micro-pores The precipitated Ca and P increased in Hanks' solution that surface treatment caused increased activity. Conclusion : This study shows that sol-gel coated HA and hydrothermal treatment significantly enhance the rate of HA formation due to the altered surface chemistry.

Magnesium thin films were prepared on cold-rolled steel substrates by RF(Radio Frequency) magnetron sputtering technique.$^{1)}$ The crystal orientation and monitoring of the deposited films were investigated by using XRD(X-ray Diffraction) and EIS(Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy), respectively. The corrosion rates of Mg thin films deposited with different argon gas pressure and substrate bias voltage were monitored by AC impedance method under a cyclic wet-dry condition, which was conducted by exposure to alternate conditions of 1h immersion in 3%NaCl solution and 5h drying at 60% RH and 25$^{\circ}C$. The result of corrosion rate of Mg thin films deposited at various Ar gas pressures and substrate bias voltage under wet-dry cyclic exposure in chloride-containing solutions was showed the following conclusions. At the region I during the onset of the wet cycle, corrosion rate showed relatively low value. The increase in the Corrosion rate of region II is due to the increase in the chloride concentration. Corrosion rate of region III during the onset of the cycle zero and salt crystals remain on the metal surface.$^{2)}$
Immersive media videos, such as panorama and 360-degree videos, must provide a sense of realism as if the user visited the space in the video, so they should be able to represent the reality of the real world. However, in panorama and 360-degree videos, objects appear to overlap or disappear due to parallax between cameras, and such parallax distortion may interfere with immersion of the user's content. Accordingly, although many video stitching algorithms have been proposed to overcome parallax distortion, parallax distortion still occurs due to the low performance of the Object detection module and limitations of the Seam generation method. Therefore, this paper analyzes the limitations of the existing video stitching technology and proposes a method for detecting and correcting parallax distortion of video stitching using the LDPM (Local Differential Pixel Mean) image evaluation method that overcomes the limitations of the video stitching technique.
As with all narrative forms based on media, the narrative method of TV human documentary is closely related to the change of broadcasting environment. In 2017, the world's first terrestrial UHD broadcast was launched in Korea, and in September of that year, KBS broadcasted the UHD special documentary series. , made of UHD capable of ultra-high definition video and immersive audio, showed a narrative approach completely different from the existing TV human documentary. Instead of all-out narration, which was considered an essential element in the TV human documentary, it used the modest first-person narration of the characters, while actively using drones capable of various compositions to express the psychology of the characters in detail and enable viewers' immersion. In addition, the Montage editing technique, an editing method that has not been attempted in TV human documentaries, utilizes the narrative development method of 'showing' as a video without 'explaining' with narration. After , many similar narrative documentaries are broadcast, and the flow and direction of TV human documentaries are changing under UHD broadcasting environment.

Ultrasonic transducers with high resolution and resonant frequency are required to detect small defects (less than hundreds of ${\mu}m$) by ultrasonic testing. The resonance frequency and resolution of an ultrasonic transducer are closely related to the thickness of piezo-electric materials, backing materials, and the electric impedance matching technique. Among these factors, electrical impedance matching plays an important role because it can reduce the loss and reflection of ultrasonic energy differences in electrical impedance between an ultrasonic transducer and an ultrasonic defects detecting system. An LC matching circuit is the most frequently used electric matching method. It is necessary for the electrical impedance of an ultrasonic transducer to correspond to approximately $50{\Omega}$ to compensate the difference in electrical impedance between both connections. In this study, a 15 MHz immersion ultrasonic transducer was fabricated and an LC electrical impedance circuit was applied to that for having broad-band frequency characteristic.

The co-precipitation technique has been applied to synthesize biphasic calcium phosphate (BCP). $Ca(NO_3)_2{\cdot}4H_2O$ and $(NH_4)_2HPO_4$ as the starting materials was used. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier transformed infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy were used to characterize the structure of as-synthesized and calcined BCP powders. After immersion in Hanks' Balanced Salt Solution (HBSS), for 1 week a precipitation started to be formed with individual small granules on the specimen surface. An MTT assay indicated that BCP powders have no cytotoxic effects on MG-63 cells, and that they have good biocompatibility.

Porous biphasic calcium phosphate scaffolds were fabricated by a freeze-gel casting technique using a tertiary-butyl alcohol (TBA)-based slurry. After sintering, unidirectional macropore channels of scaffolds aligned regularly along the TBA ice growth direction were tailored simultaneously with micropores formed in the outer wall of the pore channels. The crystallinity, micro structure, pore configuration, bulk density, and compressive strength for the scaffolds were investigated with X-ray diffractometery, scanning electron microscopy analysis, a water immersion method, and a universal test machine. The results revealed that the sintered porosity and pore size generally resulted in a high solid loading which resulted in low porosity and small pore size, which relatively increased the higher compressive strength. After being sintered at $1100-1300^{\circ}C$, the scaffolds showed an average porosity and compressive strength in the range 35.1-74.9% and 65.1-3.0 MPa, respectively, according to the processing conditions.

Enormous amount of waste oyster-shell (OS) has a major disposal problem in coastal regions. OSs have attracted much attention for recycling, because these are mainly composed of calcium carbonate with rare impurities. In this study, we demonstrate the calcareous deposit films on steel plate by using OSs on the basic of cathodic protection technique. The composition of the OSs was analyzed by wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometer. Carbon dioxide gas was pumped into distilled water to make carbonic acid solution for dissolution of OS. The calcareous deposit was characterized by second electron microscope (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX) and X-ray diffraction. Corrosion rates were estimated by measurements of anodic polarization and immersion test. It is confirmed that calcareous deposits on steel plate are formed under all condition of cathodic protection by using waste OS from the SEM and EDX results. Calcareous deposits on steel by OS provide good corrosion resistance by acting as a barrier to oxygen supply to the steel surface.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of two polishing methods and chemical conditioning on the surface of hybrid composites. Ninety cylindrical specimens (diameter:8mm, depth:2mm) were made with three hybrid composites-Filtek Z250, Tetric Ceram. DenFil. Specimens for each composite were randomly divided into three treatment subgroups $^{\circled1}$ Mylar strip (no treatment). $^{\circled2}$ Sof-Lex XT system, $^{\circled3}$ PoGo system. Average surface roughness(Ra) was taken using a surface profilometer at the time of setting and after immersion into 0.02N lactic acid for 1 week and 1 month. Representative specimens were examined by scanning electron microscopy. The data were analyzed using ANOVA and Scheffe's tests at 0.05% significance level. The results were as follows:1. Mylar strip resulted in smoother surface than PoGo and Sof-Lex system (p<0.001). Sof-Lex system gave the worst results. 2. Tetric Ceram was smoother than DenFil and Z250 when cured under only mylar strip. However, it was significantly rougher than other materials when polished with PoGo system. 3. All materials showed rough surface after storage in 0.02N lactic acid, except groups polished with a PoGo system. The PoGo system gave a superior polish than Sof-Lex system for the three composites. However. the correlation to clinical practice may be limited, since there are several processes. such as abrasive, fatigue, and corrosive mechanisms. Thus. further studies are needed for polishing technique under in vivo conditions.
A cold spray coating (CSC) of copper was studied for its application to a high-level radioactive waste (HLW) disposal canister. Several copper coatings of 10 mm thick were fabricated using two kinds of copper powders with different oxygen contents, and SS 304 and nodular cast iron were used as their base metal substrates. The fabricated CSC coppers showed a high tensile strength but were brittle in comparison with conventional non-coating copper, hereinafter defined to as "commercial copper". The corrosion behavior of CSC coppers was evaluated by comparison with commercial coppers, such as extruded and forged coppers. The polarization test results showed that the corrosion potential of the CSC coppers was closely related to its purity; low-purity (i.e., high oxygen content) copper exhibited a lower corrosion potential, and high-purity copper exhibited a relatively high corrosion potential. The corrosion rate converted from the measured corrosion current was not, however, dependent on its purity: CSC copper showed a little higher rate than that of commercial copper. Immersion tests in aqueous HCl solution showed that CSC coppers were more susceptible to corrosion, i.e., they had a higher corrosion rate. However, the difference was not significant between commercial copper and high-purity CSC copper. The decrease of corrosion was observed in a humid air test presumably due to the formation of a protective passive film. In conclusion, the results of this study indicate that CSC application of copper could be a useful option for fabricating a copper HLW disposal canister.
