As the information-oriented society makes progress, the role of Image has much influence on human being in space as a medium for information delivery and a means of artistic communication. These influences are appeared as expressional characteristics of the image such as the reproducibility of reality and unreality in the real world, the synchrony of expression of time, visual formality, a sign and the transmission of moaning. For these, the investigator examined the meaning of image in aspace, taking into consideration of the interrelationship of image, space, and human being. As study findings show, the expressional characteristics of image in space have such visual effects as a space in which pictorial formality and object exists, in which the mutual understanding of communication exists, and that realizes immaterial membrane in the aspect of time and space, according to the electronic light, color, and formation of the image media. In addition, it become clear that the characteristic could be staged on various circumstances by constructing the relationship between an object and a point of time interactively with bidirectional communication through combining technology and art. This suggests that the image develops as the form of sensory communication via interacting of space and human being.

Along with the increasing social concern on cultural products and corresponding policy development by government many domestic regions have been trying to establish their own cultural identity. Based on the case stuffy for Gwang-Ju, this paper provides a methodology of developing cultural products from the unique regional resource. Its scope was classified into three categories: alread-developed, regional character and regional theme products. For this purpose, marketing strategies were established for quality improvement and promotion of cultural products through analysis on the current products including a questionnaire to customers. Then, conceptual designs for each scope were developed through the five steps of "selection of items", "target customer analysis", "concept establishment", "extraction of cultural factos7" and "derivation of conceptual design". The concept establishment was based on the expression of the material characteristics, the harmony of tradition and modernity, symbolization of images and so on. The cultural factors taken into account included the natural resources, historical heritages and landmarks. Finally, several examines of the conceptual designs were illustrated for commercial products. This study could be extended further in the future by introducing potential immaterial resources into the cultural factors.

Intermedia is a term that refers to the convergence of different media. It has not only enabled the delivery of brand message but also developed interactive communication in a contemporary fashion show context. This study investigates the presentation methods of contemporary fashion shows affected by intermedia. We examined the research and theory related to intermedia and fashion shows by accessing articles since the 2000s concerning 252 shows by 30 designers that tended to demonstrate the use of intermedia. Our analysis highlighted four particular characteristics: "medium scalability" (the unity of art and fashion and the unity of life and fashion); "synesthetic flow" (the audience's emotional immersion, represented by the actual performance and performances of the models); "participatory accessibility" (performance participation through action and instrumental support); and "immaterial symbolization" (an intuitive symbol that emphasizes both the direct outward appearance and the metaphorical symbolism so that the object is expressed in a figurative sense). From these results, we identified considerable synergy between the characteristics of intermedia and contemporary fashion shows. Therefore, it might be useful to conduct an experimental study on this area of research.

This paper attempted to analyze the Sainte-Chapelle(1242-48) in Paris in terms of Gottfried Semper's theory of four elements. For this aim, this study was divided into two parts: the first part regarding Semper's theory, which included not only the theories of four elements and four technical arts but also the concepts of the two types of primitive dwellings; the second part regarding the Sainte-Chapelle, composed of the overall study and the characteristics of the building and finally the analysis of it in terms of Semper's theory. The Sainte-Chapelle was regarded as a real example of Semper's four elements, in that the building was composed of a sacred altar containing Christ's earthly relics, stereotomic bases made of stone, a tectonic structure featuring linearity, and textile stained glass as an elaborate enclosure. While the bases and the structure were employed as serving elements, the altar and the stained glass played critical roles to make a whole space immaterial and monumental. These two elements served to reveal not only biblical typology but also the religious and political vision of Saint Louis to establish Paris is as a new Holy Land.

This paper describes an effect of a single- and a quadruple-lightning impulse currents on electrical characteristics of ZnO blocks, and an expert system to diagnose arrestor deterioration. To deduce the parameters needed for diagnosing arrester deterioration, an accelerate deterioration teat is carried out. In the experiment, leakage current components are measured. Also, wave height distribution of the leakage current according to the progress of arrester deterioration is analyzed. From the experimental results, the wave height distribution of the leakage current showed conspicuous difference even in an immaterial leakage current increase. Therefore, the use of wave height distribution of the leakage current in deterioration diagnostic technique makes more accurate diagnosis than the conventional method by using only a leakage currant value. Finally, the expert system based on the experimental results is developed and the system can diagnose arrestor deterioration by measuring the leakage current and its wade height distribution.

Most of construction companies recognize importance of immaterial assets in an age of unlimited competition. And construction companies that are concerned about Knowledge Management have used the system of it for critical ability of company. But they used the system for the storage of construction knowledge. So, the present KM system was gradually under operating. To introduce KMS based on Business Process Management(BPM), the purpose of this study is to consider BPM and KMS through the existing researches. we deduce the concept for introducing KMS based on BPM and present the expected effectiveness of it. Finally, we present the prototype of system for KMS based on BPM.

21st century has different characters from 20th century which was an era of machine and rationality based on the industrial revolution. With the advent of the digital revolution, it became an era of pluralism, culture, and emotion. The digital technology made it possible to connect the whole world together in real time and brought about the entirely new notion of time and space. It also dramatically altered the world view. Now we have a different set of social and cultural values from the past. This paper researched the influences of these social and cultural changes on public designs. The leading trends of public designs were analyzed and the successful cases were studied. The main research methodologies were the document review and the instrumental case study. The major social & cultural paradigms of a present era were classified as 'pluralism', 'digital & information revolution', 'human-centered value (against machine-centered value of 20th century)', and 'organic world view'. Each of the classified paradigms was analyzed more to find out the influences on the various trends of public designs. 'Pluralism' has influence on 'experiential public design', 'community art', and 'public design of local values'. 'Digital & information revolution' has influence on 'content-centered public design', 'smart public design', 'immaterial public design', and 'performance in public design'. 'Human-centered value' has influence on 'universal design approach in public design', and 'emotional public design'. 'Organic world view' has influence on 'sustainable public design', and 'ecological public design'.

The objective of this research is to investigate the artistic meaning of "infinity," manifested by the fourth dimensional value in the genres of photography and architecture, by analyzing how Sugimoto Hiroshi's photographic spatio-temporal infinity transfers to his architectural approaches. The research is initiated by scrutinizing the themes, characteristics, techniques, and artistic meaning of Sugimoto's famous photographic series, including "Seascapes," "Theatres," and "Architecture"; the concept of infinity can be defined as infinite divergence and infinitesimal convergence between antithetical concepts in time, space, and being. Sugimoto's photographic works display "temporal infinity" by connecting ancient times, the present, and the future; "spatial infinity" by offering the potential for transformation from flat photographs into infinite three-dimensional space and fourth-dimensional concepts through time; and "existential infinity" of life and death by making us think about being and essence, being and time, and origin and religion. These perspectives are also used to analyze Sugimoto's architectural works, such as "Appropriate Proportion" and "Glass Tea House Mondrian." As a result, the research finds that in Sugimoto's architectural approaches, spatio-temporal infinity between antithetical values is manifested through the concept of origin, geometric form, extended axis, immaterial threshold, transparent materiality, and connectivity of light and shadow, provoking our existence to transcend into infinity itself.

In recent years, the number of public e-Marketplaces have grown according to the leap-frogging advancement of network technology based on open communication architecture named Internet. However, the transaction volume through public e-Marketplaces have been an immaterial increase, and some well-known sites closed their businesses. This study proposes the public e-Marketplace as an e-Business system which has been recognized the most strategic application of business information technologies (Barrett & Konsynski, 1982; Cash & Konsynski, 1985), and suggests some future strategic and technological direction which supports a firm's transaction infrastructure under internet architecture. For this purpose, it reviews evolution of business information technologies.

Light is the essential and symbolical entity In architecture. But the meaning of light has been changed as time has passed, and today it has plural meaning and more sophisticated role. Since 1960's 'Light and Space Art' has accomplished many successful experiments through light and space as artistic media, and they have changed the understanding of light from the electrical source to the phenomenological energy and sensual medium. And also the role of space in their works takes the more human-oriented field constituted from the coherent relationship of internal parts including human being. Light could be 'an object' and 'material' under 'Light and Space Art' artists' persistent efforts. They revealed another realm of spatial experiences such as extension-the metaphysical space, heterogeneous relationship-the complex space, and dematerialization-the illusionary space. The secondary and inclusive effects by 'Light and Space Art' can be found In the phenomenological architecture, the post-modern architecture, and the immaterial tendency of contemporary architecture. However, the more close connections between 'Light and Space Art' and the specific architectures are still left as a portion aside for the further research.
