  • A new and secure image steganographic scheme based on nonuniform discrete Fourier transform (NDFT) is proposed in this paper. First, the chaotic system is introduced to select embedding points randomly in NDFT domain suitable range, and NDFT is implemented on every non-overlapping block of eight consecutive pixels. Second, the secret messages are scrambled by chaotic systems, and embedded into frequency coefficients by quantization method. The stego-image is obtained by inverse NDFT (INDFT). Besides, in order to discriminate tampers, the low frequency wavelet coefficients of 7 most significant bits (MSBs) of the stego-image are converted into the binary sequence after nonuniform scalar quantization. Then the obtained binary sequence is scrambled by the chaotic systems, and embedded into the least significant bit (LSB) of the stego-image. Finally, the watermarked stego-image can be obtained by a new improved LSB steganographic method. The embedded secret messages can be extracted from the watermarked stego-image without the original cover image. Experimental results show the validity of the proposed scheme, and dual statistics attacks are also conducted to indicate the security.

  • The purposes of this study were to find out any significants among somatotypes and face types and importance of image making to successful students' life. The respondents were composed of 181 males and 160 females. It consists of total 29 items including the facial features, personality expression methods, characteristics of body shapes, image making, colors and neckline and their responses were measured with Likert 5-point scale. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, cross-tabulation analysis including $Χ^2$-test and frequency analysis were used. As the results, 47% of male students and 28% of female students responded they were satisfied with their own facial types. 32% of male students and all female students were not satisfied with their own body shapes and fashion depends on accessories like hat, sunglasses, boots and necklace rather than dress itself. All male and female students were not satisfied with their body shapes and recognized the importance of image. They answered that they change image if someone advices their image and it suggests that information and intellectual needs of image making are required and approach to efficient methods of image making is needed.

And the mean score of self esteem 3.58 and professional socialization was 3.73. Total image of nurses and total subcategories of image of nurses were positively related to self esteem and professional socialization. Also total professional socialization and total subcategories of professional socialization were positively related to self esteem. Conclusion: Through this results, the educational program for improvement of professional socialization is needed for nursing students.

  • The international standard for digital compression and coding of continuous-tone still image known as JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) standard is investigated for medical image archiving and communication. The JPEG standard has widely been accepted in the areas of electronic image communication, computer graphics, and multimedia applications, however, due to the lossy character of the JPEG compression its application to the field of medical imaging has been limited. In this paper, the JPEG standard is investigated for medical image compression with a series of head sections of magnetic resonance (MR) images (256 and 4096 graylevels, $256 {\times}256$size). Two types of Huffman codes are employed, i. e., one is optimized to the image statistics to be encoded and the other is a predetermined code, and their coding efficiencies are examined. From experiments, compression ratios of higher than 15 were obtained for the MR images without noticeable distortion. Error signal in the reconstructed images by the JPEG standard appears close to random noise. Compared to existing full-frame bit-allocation technique used for radiological image compression, the JPEG standard achieves higher compression with less Gibb's artifact. Feature of the progressive image build-up of the JPEG progressive coding may be useful in remote diognosis when data is transmitted through slow public communication channel.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate brand slognas that are effective in explaining how brand identity affects consumers. The effect of congruity between brand slogan and self-image (low and high) on attitude to slogans and brands were anaylzed. The moderating effect of self-monitoring (low and high) was also investigated. Survey data from 177 people in their 20s-30s were analyzed through descriptive statistics, exploratory factor analysis, and two-way ANOVA. First, congruity between slogan and self-image had a positive effect on both slogan and brand attitude. In other words, the higher the congruity between slogan and self-image, the more positive the attitude toward the slogan and brand. Second, no interactive effect was found in congruity between slogan and self-image and self-monitoring on slogan attitude; however it was identified for brand attitude. Again, in a group with high congruity between slogan and self-image, attitude toward the brand was more positive when self-monitoring was higher than when it was low. In conclusion, brand slogans that can represent the self-image of highly self-monitoring consumers are effective. In particular, this is meaningful as it has revealed its relationship with the impact of identity self-image congruity and self-monitoring on brand attitudes in fashion brands. These results offer meaningful guidance in determining brand slogans according to consumers' personal characteristics.

  • A new restoration method of chest X -ray image (dual project filter) was proposed to improve SNR(signal to noise ratio) characteristics. In this method, a priori Information of system and anatomical structure and statistics of projected object are used in the design of filter. Dual projection filter varies its parameters, adapting to the local regions of chest(lung region, mediasternum, subdiaphragm) and the structure of chest (bone, tissue, blood vessel, bronchia). The performance of Dual Projection Filter was 0.1-0.2dB better than Dual Sensor Wiener Filter, which was used for initial estimate of Dual Porjection Filter.

  • Westfeld[1] analyzed a sequential LSB embedding steganography effectively through the $\chi$$^2$-statistical test which measures the frequencies of PoVs(pairs of values). Fridrich also proposed another statistical analysis, so-called RS steganalysis by which the embedding message rate can be estimated. In this paper, we propose a new steganographic scheme which preserves the above two statistics. The proposed scheme embeds the secret message in the innocent image by randomly adding one to real pixel value or subtracting one from it, then adjusts the statistical measures to equal those of the original image.

  • Wavelet coefficients are known to have decorrelating properties, since wavelet is orthonormal transformation. but empirically, those wavelet coefficients of images, like edges, are not statistically independent. Jansen and Bultheel(1999) developed the empirical Bayes approach to improve the classical threshold algorithm using local characterization in Markov random field. They consider the clustering of significant wavelet coefficients with uniform distribution. In this paper, we developed wavelet thresholding algorithm using Laplacian distribution which is more realistic model.

  • An unsupervised region based image segmentation algorithm implemented with a pyramid structure has been developed. Rather than depending on thraditional local splitting and merging of regions with a similarity test of region statistics, the algorithm identifies the homogenous and boundary regions at each level of pyramid, then the global parameters of esch class are estimated and updated with values of the homogenous regions represented at the level of the pyramid using the mixture distribution estimation. The image is then classified through the pyramid structure. Classification results obtained for both simulated and SPOT imagery are presented.
