  • The influencing factors on the OPC (optical proximity correction) results are quantitatively analyzed using OPCed L/S patterns. ${\sigma}$ values of proximity variations are measured to be 9.3 nm and 15.2 nm for PR-A and PR-B, respectively. The effect of post exposure bake condition is assessed. 16.2 nm and 13.8 nm of variations are observed. Proximity variations of 11.6 nm and 15.2 nm are measured by changing the illumination condition. In order not to seriously deteriorate the OPC, these factors should be fixed after the OPC rules are extracted. Proximity variations of 11.4, 13.9, and 15.2 nm are observed for the mask mean-to-targets of 0, 2 and 4 nm, respectively. The decrease the OPC grid size from 1 nm to 0.5 nm enhances the correction resolution and the OCV is reduced from 14.6 nm to 11.4 nm. The enhancement amount of proximity variations are 9.2 nm corresponding to 39% improvement. The critical dimension (CD) uniformity improvement for adopting the small grid size is confirmed by measuring the CD uniformity on real SRAM pattern. CD uniformities are measured 9.9 nm and 8.7 nm for grid size of 1 nm and 0.5 nm, respectively. 22% improvement of the CD uniformity is achieved. The decrease of OPC grid size is shown to improve not only the proximity correction, but also the uniformity.

  • Recently, the LED(Light Emitting Diode) is expected to replace conventional lamps including incandescent, halogen and fluorescent lamps for some general illumination application, due to some obvious features such as high luminous efficiency, safety, long life, environment-friendly characteristics and so on. To drive the LED, a single stage PFC(Power Factor Correction) flyback converter has been adopted to satisfy the isolation, PFC and low cost. The conventional flyback LED driver has the serious disadvantage of high 120Hz output current ripple caused by the PFC operation. To overcome this drawback, a new PFC flyback with low 120Hz output current ripple is proposed in this paper. It is composed of 2 power stages, the DCM(Discontinuous Conduction Mode) flyback converter for PFC and BCM(Boundary Conduction Mode) boost converter for tightly regulated LED current. Since the link capacitor is located in the secondary side, its voltage stress is small. Moreover, since the driver is composed of 2 power stages, small output filter and link capacitor can be used. Especially, since the flyback is operated at DCM, the PFC can be automatically obtained and thus, an additional PFC IC is not necessary. Therefore, only one control IC for BCM boost converter is required. To confirm the validity of the proposed converter, theoretical analysis and experimental results from a prototype of 24W LED driver are presented.

  • The Land Surface Temperature (LST) is a crucial parameter in identifying drought. It is essential to identify how LST can increase its accuracy, particularly in mountainous and hill areas. Increasing the LST accuracy can be achieved by applying early data processing in the correction phase, specifically in the context of topographic correction on the Lambertian model. Empirical evidence has demonstrated that this particular stage effectively enhances the process of identifying objects, especially within areas that lack direct illumination. Therefore, this research aims to examine the application of the Lambertian model in estimating LST using the Multi-Channel Method (MCM) across various physiographic regions. Lambertian model is a method that utilizes Lambertian reflectance and specifically addresses the radiance value obtained from Sun-Canopy-Sensor(SCS) and Cosine Correction measurements. Applying topographical adjustment to the LST outcome results in a notable augmentation in the dispersion of LST values. Nevertheless, the area physiography is also significant as the plains terrain tends to have an extreme LST value of ≥ 350 K. In mountainous and hilly terrains, the LST value often falls within the range of 310-325 K. The absence of topographic correction in LST results in varying values: 22 K for the plains area, 12-21 K for hilly and mountainous terrain, and 7-9 K for both plains and mountainous terrains. Furthermore, validation results indicate that employing the Lambertian model with SCS and Cosine Correction methods yields superior outcomes compared to processing without the Lambertian model, particularly in hilly and mountainous terrain. Conversely, in plain areas, the Lambertian model's application proves suboptimal. Additionally, the relationship between physiography and LST derived using the Lambertian model shows a high average R2 value of 0.99. The lowest errors(K) and root mean square error values, approximately ±2 K and 0.54, respectively, were achieved using the Lambertian model with the SCS method. Based on the findings, this research concluded that the Lambertian model could increase LST values. These corrected values are often higher than the LST values obtained without the Lambertian model.

  • This study proposes technology using Active Shape Model to track the object separating it by depth-sensors. Unlike the common visual camera, the depth-sensor is not affected by the intensity of illumination, and therefore a more robust object can be extracted. The proposed algorithm removes the horizontal component from the information of the initial depth map and separates the object using the vertical component. In addition, it is also a more efficient morphology, and labeling to perform image correction and object extraction. By applying Active Shape Model to the information of an extracted object, it can track the object more robustly. Active Shape Model has a robust feature-to-object occlusion phenomenon. In comparison to visual camera-based object tracking algorithms, the proposed technology, using the existing depth of the sensor, is more efficient and robust at object tracking. Experimental results, show that the proposed ASM-based algorithm using depth sensor can robustly track objects in real-time.

  • In general, methods based on histogram or a correction of gamma curve are usually utilized to enhance the contrast of captured image in the dark scene. These methods are efficient to enhance the contrast globally, however, they locally induced the low quality of image. Recently, to resolve the problem, the multi-scaled refiner algorithm improving the contrast with locally averaged lightness is proposed. However, estimating the locally averaged lightness, if there is the object with a high saturated color, the color distortion might be induced by the color of object. Thus, in this paper, the dominant chromaticity of image is estimated to correct the locally averaged lightness in multi-scaled retinex algorithm. Because the average chromaticity of image includes the chromaticity of illumination, the dominant chromaticity is estimated with dividing the average chromaticity of image by the estimated chromaticity of illumination from highlight region. In addition, to improve the lower chroma by multi-scaled retinex algorithm generally, the chroma was compensated preserving the hue in the CIELAB color space.

  • Color rendition method is necessary for improving the low contrast images which are achieved by PDA, mobile phone camera or PC camera. There are some methods for color rendition. However, after correcting the color, image quality degradations, such as graying-out, halo-artifact and color noise, may occur. In order to overcome these problems, this paper proposes a retinex-based color rendition method. The proposed method uses the HSV color coordinate system to avoid the graying-out, and the advanced image formation model to reduce the halo-artifact in which the image is divided into three components as the global illumination, the local illumination, and reflectance. The experiment results show that the proposed method yields better performance of color correction over the conveniently method.

  • In this paper we propose a new pre-processing algorithm applied to multi-view video coding using color compensation algorithm based on image features. Multi-view images have a difference between neighboring frames according to illumination and different camera characteristics. To compensate this color difference, first we model the characteristics of cameras based on frame's feature from each camera and then correct the color difference. To extract corresponding features from each frame, we use Harris corner detection algorithm and characteristic coefficients used in the model is estimated by using Gauss-Newton algorithm. In this algorithm, we compensate RGB components of target images, separately from the reference image. The experimental results with many test images show that the proposed algorithm peformed better than the histogram based algorithm as much as 14 % of bit reduction and 0.5 dB ~ 0.8dB of PSNR enhancement.
