도로종류에 따른 조명전력 허용기준([W/m2]) 제안 (Proposal of Lighting Power Density for Road Lighting)

  • The design of road lighting is aiming illuminance and luminance requirements for road lighting. In the process, various factors associated with luminaires such as luminous efficacy, light distribution, mounting height, spacing and maintenance factor are considered. However, there has been no restriction on lighting power density. In this study, lighting power density has been comparatively analyzed through a study of related data and a result of measurements on domestic roads. And, it has been analyzed by simulation results for road in which lighting conditions are variable. In terms of the limitation on power density for road lighting, road lighting can be designed using high efficacy lighting systems for energy saving.

  • This paper presents a digital control solution which can extract the reactor parameters in atmosphere plasma power supply. The critical issue of the atmosphere plasma power supply is a impedance matching. For the impedance matching, the reactor parameters should be known, but the parameters depend on the reactors. Therefore, the reactor parameters have to measure for the impedance matching. The proposed method is performed by detection of phase difference between inverter voltage and current, and extraction of impedance through active, reactive power.

  • Sewage treatment plants, consuming 1,756[GWh] which is 0.53[%] of national wide electricity consumption, is one of the electricity consuming facilites. At the research of electricity consumption and power quality analysis on sewage treatment plants, average utilization of transformer was less than 40[%] because peak load was very lower than its capacity due to excess capacity. So reduction of power loss can be achieved by transformer design optimization. The achievement in this research, is to meet reduction of power loss through optimizing the capacity and to improve as high efficiency-low loss transformer while the transformer is operating.

  • Currently, separated buses were increased to limit a fault currents in power transmission system. However, separated buses caused bad influences such as a decrease of reliability and stability. Superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) was proposed to limit a fault current lately and that has many merits beside any other solutions. Therefore, we proposed the install of Superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) in power transmission system with separated bus. And our proposal was verified by reliability of power system.

  • To minimize the financial loss due to power facility malfunction, on-line diagnostic techniques are required to grasp any abnormal state of facilities in the live line as well as devices to diagnose abnormal states of power facility in an easy and prompt manner. This study aims to develop a portable UV detecting system by means of UV sensors for easier and efficient inspection of the degradation state of power facility in a long distance. Accordingly, it includes a simulation of corona discharges that may occur due to degradation of power facility and detection of ultraviolet pulse generation depending on the corona discharge intensity and measuring distance in application of UV sensors. Additionally, the optimal algorithm is determined for its application to the system's degradation diagnosis program based on the measured experiment data.

  • The study about three-phase synthetic making test using DC power has been performed in order to increase the making test capacity on Vacuum Circuit Breaker. And, it made possible to solve the limitations that short-circuit testing facilities can not fulfill the testing requirements of VCB exceeding three-phase 36[kV] 31.5[kA]. By using DC power and high speed spark-gap switch, this method made the equivalence with the pre-arc that occurred during the making process under the fault condition of power system. As results, KERI(Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute) could have capacity to carry out type test for VCB under three-phase 52[kV] 40[kV], which satisfies the IEC Standard.

Regression Analysis of Vibration Phenomenon on the Load Capacity and Elapsed Year of a Power Transformer

  • The majority of the causes for the failures of power transformers in operation are mechanical defects due to vibration. The vibration phenomenon was measured from the power transformers in operation in the substations. The vibration measurement was performed in a $6{\times}4$ structure on one side of each transformer. The vibrations of the measured points were presented in two and three dimensions and analyzed. The results, according to the elapsed year of the transformer and the load capacity to the transformer, were analyzed. These results could be used as basic data with which to establish vibration standards for power transformers. In addition, the load capacity-vibration phenomenon correlation was examined and regression analysis was performed to derive the estimation function. The vibration phenomenon according to the elapsed yeah was also estimated to derive the function. Then the analysis of the power transformers was used to set vibration standards for them based on the vibration data.

Development of a 3-D Visualization Application for Management of Substation Equipment

  • This paper presents a new windows application based on 3-D graphics and Text-To-Speech (TTS) for effective management of substation equipment. When problems in a power system occur, inexperienced power system operators may have difficulty in understanding the situation as well as finding suitable countermeasures quickly. This paper addresses an effective scheme to visualizing power system equipment under normal and abnormal conditions using 3-D graphics and animations. In addition, the state variations and the order of maintenance priority of substation equipment are represented by TTS and intuitive methods. The proposed system can help power system operators to more quickly understand the state of power system equipment, and it can provide operators with the suitable countermeasures for minimizing damage caused by equipment problems.

  • his study deals with a power conversion unit of an anti-start air conditioner compressor system for the commercial vehicle. In case of converter, to reduce the switching losses and current stresses of the device, applies LLC resonant topology. Transformer leakage inductance in the full-bridge converter is used for making the resonance with the capacitor of the voltage-doubler. Through this method we can increase power and decrease volume of system. Both circuit analysis and design guideline are described. So in this paper, power conversion unit is designed. 2.5kW anti-start air conditioner compressor system was implemented, and system operation and stability was verified through experiment.

풍력발전출력의 공간예측 향상을 위한 상관관계감소거리(CoDecDist) 모형 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Analysis of Correlation Decay Distance(CoDecDist) Model for Enhancing Spatial Prediction Outputs of Spatially Distributed Wind Farms)

  • As wind farm outputs depend on natural wind resources that vary over space and time, spatial correlation analysis is needed to estimate power outputs of wind generation resources. As a result, geographic information such as latitude and longitude plays a key role to estimate power outputs of spatially distributed wind farms. In this paper, we introduce spatial correlation analysis to estimate the power outputs produced by wind farms that are geographically distributed. We present spatial correlation analysis of empirical power output data for the JEJU Island and ERCOT ISO (Texas) wind farms and propose the Correlation Decay Distance (CoDecDist) model based on geographic correlation analysis to enhance the estimation of wind power outputs.
