MHD 램프용 전자식 안정기의 점화기 및 소음제거에 관한 연구 (Research of Ignitor and Noise Rejuction for Electronic Ballast of MHD Lamp)

  • Today there is an ever increasing effort to control high-pressure discharge lamps with electronic ballast. HID lamps can be ignited by high-voltage pulses and need an ignitor to start them. An ignitor gives high-voltage pulses to HID lamps which have the type of the arc discharge. Three kinds of ignitor circuits have been analyzed by the P-spice program and we have shown experimental results in this paper. The result of this study seems to be able to help to develope various ignitors.

  • The purpose of this research is to study on characteristics of corona ignitor which was designed for ignition of plasma, used at hard coating, surface treatment and thin film preparation, at high pressure. Corona ignitor composed of hollow type inner electrode and ring type external electrode. Though corona voltage increased with increasing distance between electrodes, corona discharge can be controlled stably. The gas flow in hollow type inner electrode and the construction between electrodes affect a length of corona flame and corona phenomenon. It is possible to ignite the . plasma, usually generated at low pressure(10 Torr), at high pressure(100 Torr) by corona ignitor.

메탈 핼라이드 램프의 순시 재점등을 위한 점화기 개발 (The Ignitor Development for Momentary Restarting of Metal Halide Lamps)

  • The most of metalhalide lamps is what the momentary restarting cannot be realized when the arc tube is in the hot condition. The discharge starting voltage of arc tube in the hot condition is much higher than in the cold condition in proportion to the gaseous pressure. Therefore it takes about ten minutes to restart the metal Halide lamps, that is to say, it is possible to start when the pressure and the temperature are decreased. But, if the lamp is restarted in the hot condition, we must supply the high voltage pulse with 15kV between the both electrodes of lamp. The proposed ignitor has two ignitors. If we connect each ignitor at the both sides, the high voltages of two different frequencies are generated. If so, when the one of the ignitor generates the highest voltage and the other applied to elecrodes of the lamp. In this way, we can restart the lamp with the voltage 15kV, even if the lamp is in the hot condition.

  • We successfully constructed a passively Q-switched Yb:YAG laser ignitor pumped by a diode laser with low power and long pulse width. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study to achieve a quasi-MW output power from an optimized Q-switch Yb:YAG laser ignitor by using a pumping diode laser module emitting at under a power of 23 W. The output pulse energy of our optimized laser is 0.98 mJ enclosed in a 1.06 ns pulse width, corresponding to a peak power of 0.92 MW.

  • The electronic ballast for HID lamps needs high ignition voltage which is consisted of high voltage pulse ignitor. However, In the case of street lamp it is far from a lamp to a ballast, the conventional pulsed high voltage ignitor can not turn on the HID lamps because of reduction of ignition voltage. Therefore, it needs to do the research on a resonant ignition to turn on the HID lamps. However, the resonant circuit which is consisted of LC occurs over current, so the capacity of the ignitor increases. The capacity of the ignitor can be reduced by using the transformer. In this case, the capacitor for resonance is installed to the secondary of the transformer, and the capacitor needs high withstanding voltage. Therefore, it needs to do the research on a resonant ignition to reduce the voltage over the resonant capacitor by dividing the secondary of the transformer.

  • 본 연구에서는 고농도 과산화수소와 케로신을 사용하는 저추력 엔진의 촉매방식 점화기를 설계 제작하고, 수류시험을 통해 설계 압력 대비 유량을 확인하였다. 점화 성능 확인을 위해 과산화수소 분해열이 정상상태에 도달하는 지점에서의 케로신 유량변화에 따른 혼합비를 변화시켰고, 넓은 범위의 혼합비에서 안정된 점화특성을 확인하였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 과산화수소와 케로신을 사용하는 소형 이원추진제 액체로켓엔진의 점화원으로서, 과산화수소의 촉매 반응에 의한 고온의 분해 가스와 케로신의 자연 발화를 이용하는 촉매형 점화기에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 먼저 점화기를 설계하기 위해 열역학적 상용코드프로그램인 CEA를 사용하여 점화기 유량 및 혼합비를 선정하고 촉매형 점화기를 설계/제작하였으며, 점화 성공 및 지연 등을 판단하기 위한 가시화창과 분해 가스의 온도 분포를 파악하기 위한 열전대 장착이 가능한 연소실을 설계제작하였다. 분해 가스 유속을 결정하는 고정링(fixed ring)의 출구 면적 변화와 혼합비 변화에 따른 점화 성능 시험을 수행하였다. 결과적으로 쵸킹 면적보다 큰 출구 면적에서와 혼합비 6~8 사이에서 안정적인 점화 성능을 보임을 확인하였다.

  • 본 논문은 반도체 소자의 사용없이 구성된 LC 공진 타입의 점화기를 분석하고 설계하였다. 일반적으로 사용되고 있는 점화기는 다이악, 아크갭, SCR과 같은 반도체 소자가 사용된다. 이러한 반도체 소자의 사용으로 인해 회로의 구성이 복잡해지며 신뢰성이 저하된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 수동 소자로만 구성된 점화기 회로를 분석 및 설계하였으며 제안한 점화기는 램프의 정상 상태에서는 영향을 미치지 않는다. 수학적 분석, 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션과 1[kW] 메탈 핼라이드 램프용 전자식 안정기를 제작하여 실제 적용해 봄으로서 제안한 점화기의 유용함을 증명하였다.
