절전형 제빙시설 사이클 모사를 통한 성능 및 경제성 해석 (Analysis of Performance and Economical Efficiency through Cycle Simulation for Power Saving BIP(Block Ice Plant))

  • Domestic ice making companies make effort to obtain products and neglect to introduce low cost product improvements with energy savings. The work presented here is an implementation of ice making method to improve both energy efficiency and productivity. In this present investigation, several ice making cycles are proposed for higher efficiency in the system. COP(Coefficient of Performance), ice making time and electric energy consumption are evaluated and compared with the conventional system. Results shows that COP is improved with more efficient use of time for ice making and electric consumption. Therefore, this can offer an opportunity for more efficient use of energy and higher productivity in ice making.

  • Recent research is needed for the reduction of the pH of the recycled aggregates, recycled aggregates for alkali social problems have emerged. This was confirmed through preliminary experiments using a self-made reactor with dry ice, the possibility of reducing the pH of the recycled aggregates. The pH reduction of coarse recycled aggregates plant was made to apply the field to the middle of construction waste treatment process to reduce the pH of the plant room, and measured the pH change with time. The measurement results showed that dry ice after the reaction, the pH of the aggregate 5% reduction than untreated recycled aggregates.

아이스플랜트의 항산화 및 HCT116 인체 유래 대장암세포 성장억제 활성 (Antioxidant and growth inhibitory activities of Mesembryanthemum crystallinum L. in HCT116 human colon cancer cells)

  • 본 연구에서는 ice plant의 ethanol 추출물과 분획물의 항산화 및 대장암세포 성장억제 활성을 in vitro 수준에서 평가하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. Ethanol 추출물의 총 폴리페놀 함량 (3.7 mg GAE/g), 총 카로티노이드 함량 ($13.2{\mu}g/g$), DPPH 라디칼 소거활성 (21.0%), 철 환원력 (21.0%)보다 butanol 분획물의 총 폴리페놀 함량 (5.4 mg GAE/g), 총 카로티노이드 함량 ($86.6{\mu}g/g$), DPPH 라디칼 소거활성 (34.9%), 철 환원력 (80.8%)이 더 높았다. 또한 HCT116 대장암세포에서 세포 내 활성산소종 수준을 감소시키거나 세포 성장을 억제하는데 있어서 ethanol 추출물보다 butanol 분획물의 활성이 더 컸다. 대장암세포의 성장을 억제하는데 있어서 butanol 분획물이 ethanol 추출물보다 더 효과적이었던 것은 butanol 분획물의 apoptosis 유도활성이 ethanol 추출물의 활성보다 더 컸고 butanol 분획물만이 G2/M기억류활성을 나타냈기 때문인 것으로 생각된다. 앞으로 이와 같은 결과를 초래하는 주요 활성성분을 분리 동정하고 ice plant의 항산화 활성 및 대장암세포 성장억제 효과가 in vivo 수준에서 재현되는지 검증하며 이와 관련된 세부기전을 탐색하는 심도 있는 연구가 필요할 것으로 생각된다.

Failure simulation of ice beam using a fully Lagrangian particle method

  • A realistic numerical simulation technology using a Lagrangian Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI) model was combined with a fracture algorithm to predict the fluid-ice-structure interaction. The failure of ice was modeled as the tensile fracture of elastic material by applying a novel FSI model based on the Moving Particle Semi-implicit (MPS) method. To verify the developed fracture algorithm, a series of numerical simulations for 3-point bending tests with an ice beam were performed and compared with the experiments carried out in an ice room. For application of the developed FSI model, a dropping water droplet hitting a cantilever ice beam was simulated with and without the fracture algorithm. The simulation showed that the effects of fracture which can occur in the process of a FSI simulation can be studied.

Ice Cream Market and Future Development in Korea

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze current trends in the Korean ice cream industry and determine how these trends affect the competitiveness of each ice cream company. Method: This study was conducted by reviewing existing related literature and collecting and analyzing data from news articles, corporate reports, and existing researchers' studies related to the ice cream industry. Results: The Korean ice cream industry is growing and developing through the collaboration of fun marketing with taste, quality, and fun elements, and the young MZ generation can be said to be the main customer base. In terms of quality, premium ice cream made with high-quality domestic ingredients has recently been gaining popularity, and ice cream with reduced fat and sugar, such as plant-based substitutes, is also gaining popularity among consumers. Conclusions and Implications: The results of this study highlight the need for continued innovation in the Korean ice cream industry. The industry must also capitalize on the growth of online sales and the global appeal of Korean pop culture. Sustainability efforts, technology adoption, and strategic collaboration are key drivers for future industry success, and social media engagement must be integrated into marketing strategies to increase brand awareness and consumer loyalty.

Estimation of Cardinal Temperatures for Germination of Seeds from the Common Ice Plant Using Bilinear, Parabolic, and Beta Distribution Models

  • The common ice plant (Mesembryanthemum crystallinum L.) has some medicinal uses and recommended plant in closed-type plant factory. The objective of this study was to estimate the cardinal temperatures for seed germination of the common ice plant using bilinear, parabolic, and beta distribution models. Seeds of the common ice plant were germinated in the dark in a growth chamber at four constant temperatures: 16, 20, 24, and $28^{\circ}C$. For this, four replicates of 100 seeds were placed on two layers of filter paper in a 9-cm petri dish and radicle emergence of 0.1 mm was scored as germination. The times to 50% germination were 4.3, 2.5, 2.0, and 1.8 days at 16, 20, 24, and $28^{\circ}C$, respectively, indicating that the germination of this warm-weather crop increased with temperature. Next, the time course of germination was modeled using a logistic function. For the selection of an accurate model, seeds were germinated in the dark at constant temperatures of 6, 12, 32, and $36^{\circ}C$. Germination started earlier and increased rapidly at temperatures above $20^{\circ}C$. The minimum, optimal, and maximum temperatures were estimated by regression of the inverse of time to 50% germination rate, as a function of the temperature gradient. The different functions estimated differing minimum, optimal and maximum temperatures, with 5.7, 27.7, and $36.5^{\circ}C$, respectively for the bilinear function, 13.4, 25.0, and $36.6^{\circ}C$, respectively, for the parabolic function and 7.8, 25.9, and $36.0^{\circ}C$, respectively, for the beta distribution function. The models estimated that the inverse of time to 50% germination rate was 0 at 6 and $36^{\circ}C$. The observed final germination rates at 12 and $32^{\circ}C$ were 62 and 97%, respectively. Our data show that a beta distribution function provides a useful model for estimating the cardinal temperatures for germination of seed from the common ice plant.

완전제어형 식물 생산 시스템에서 배양액, 광도 및 재식거리에 따른 Common Ice Plant의 생육 특성 (Growth Characteristics of Common Ice Plant (Mesembryanthemum crystallinum L.) on Nutrient Solution, Light Intensity and Planting Distance in Closed-type Plant Production System)

  • 본 연구는 인공광 이용형 식물공장에서 common ice plant를 재배하였을 때 생육에 대한 적합한 배양액 조성, 배양액 산도, 급액 간격, 광도 및 재식거리를 알아보고자 수행되었다. 식물공장 유형은 완전제어형 식물공장형태로 인공광원은 삼파장 형광등을 사용하였으며, 광주기는 12시간 일장주기였다. 수경재배시스템은 3단으로 구성된 박막수경시스템이었다. 식물공장내 온도, 상대습도와 이산화탄소 농도는 ON/OFF 제어하였다. 배양액은 일본원예시험장액과 식물체 분석으로 개발 배양액을 가지고 비교 실험 하였다. 배양액의 산도와 급액 간격 실험은 pH 6.0과 7.0 그리고, 5분 간격과 10분 간격으로 순환 할 경우 생육 차이를 알아보았다. 광도는 90과 $180{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$ 2처리 하였다. 재식거리는 열간 간격을 15cm로 고정한 후, 열내 간격 10cm, 15cm, 20cm와 25cm 4처리로 처리하였다. 적당한 배양액의 조성은 N 7.65, P 0.65, K 4.0, Ca 1.6과 Mg $1.0mM{\cdot}L^{-1}$이었다. 지상부 생체중과 건물중은 pH 6과 7 그리고 5분 간격과 10분 간격 처리간의 유의적인 차이는 없었다. 지상부 생체중과 건물중은 광도 $180{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$에서 높았다. 재식거리가 증가할수록, 단위면적당 생체중과 건물중은 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 식물 생산 시스템에서 common ice plant 생육에 적합한 배양액 관리(조성, pH와 급액간격)와 재배관리(광도와 재식밀도)를 알아본 결과, 생육에 적합한 배양액 조성으로 pH 6.0-7.0로, 급액 10분 간격으로 공급해 주는 것이 좋으며, 광도 $180{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$와 재식밀도 $15{\times}15cm$로 재배하는 것이 좋을 것으로 판단된다.

인공광 이용형 Common Ice Plant 식물공장의 실용적 설계 (Practical Design of an Artificial Light-Used Plant Factory for Common Ice Plant (Mesembryanthemum crystallinum L.))

  • 본 연구는 인공광 이용형 common ice plant 식물공장 설계를 위한 기초자료를 확보하고자 수행되었다. 인공광 이용형 식물공장에서 작물의 광합성을 위해 필요한 광도는 $120{\sim}200{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$, 탄소 고정률은 $0.84nmolCO_2{\cdot}cm^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$이었다. 1주의 점유 면적 $0.0225m^2$($15{\times}15cm$), 광도 $200{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$, 하루 1,000주 생산을 가정할 경우, 식재 주수는 25,000주, $563m^2$의 재배면적이 필요하며, 전체 광도는 $140,625{\mu}mol{\cdot}s^{-1}$가 필요하게 된다. 하루 전력 약 153.2kW 기준으로 약 2,785개의 55W 형광등이 필요하며, 1개월 전기요금은 246만원(농업용 전력(을))이 된다. 또한 조명 설비 비용 2,785만원, 설비 비용 8,356만원과 전체 생산 비용 10,027만원이 소요된다. 재배기간 25일(325일 생산), 상품화율 80%에 따른 1주 당 생산 비용은 인건비 포함하여 약 370원이 된다. 경비 총합, 감가상각비와 연간 판매수입을 고려해 볼 때, 1주당 판매 비용은 970원 이상으로 판단되었다.

  • 본 연구에서는 아이스플랜트의 기능성 식품소재로의 우수성을 알아보기 위하여 유리아미노산을 분석하고 추출용매에 따른 ACE 저해 활성과 3T3-L1 전지방세포에 대한 분화 억제 활성을 검증하였다. 아이스플랜트의 유리아미노산 총 함량은 32.57 mg/g이었으며, L-alanine 4.64 mg/g으로 가장 많이 함유되어 있었고 혈압저하 및 이뇨효과를 가지는 ${\gamma}$-aminobutyric acid는 2.60 mg/g을 함유한 것으로 나타났다. 아이스플랜트 용매분획별 ACE 저해 활성은 ethyl acetate 분획과 chloroform 분획에서 각각 $33.17{\pm}3.20{\sim}88.19{\pm}3.20%$, $23.72{\pm}2.89{\sim}86.78{\pm}2.24%$로 높은 활성을 나타내었고 butanol, water 및 hexane 분획에서는 각각 $8.86{\pm}1.20{\sim}41.21{\pm}2.49%$, $3.24{\pm}1.50{\sim}36.01{\pm}1.38%$, $-2.46{\pm}0.37~31.28{\pm}2.86%$로 나타났다. Ethyl acetate 분획과 chloroform 분획은 양성대조군인 Captopril(R)($19.51{\pm}3.44{\sim}84.72{\pm}1.06%$) 및 Enalapril(R)($24.93{\pm}1.12{\sim}91.32{\pm}3.62%$)과 유사한 저해 활성을 나타내었다. 3T3-L1 지방전구세포의 지방구 생성억제 정도를 측정한 결과 ethyl acetate 분획과 butanol 분획에서 대조군에 비하여 $53.00{\pm}0.45{\sim}65.75{\pm}0.31%$$44.16{\pm}0.29{\sim}63.32{\pm}0.36%$로 가장 많이 감소하였고 chloroform 분획과 hexane 분획은 $38.33{\pm}0.09{\sim}56.55{\pm}0.50%$, $31.17{\pm}0.50{\sim}55.10{\pm}1.93%$, water 분획은 $26.32{\pm}2.27{\sim}49.48{\pm}0.05%$로 모든 분획에서 농도 의존적으로 3T3-L1 지방전구세포의 지방 축적을 억제하는 것으로 확인하였다. 이상의 결과로부터 아이스플랜트는 다양한 생리활성 물질을 함유하고 있으며, 항고혈압과 항비만의 생리활성 효과를 가지는 것을 확인하여 기능성 식품 소재로서의 가치가 뛰어나다고 판단된다.

빙핵세균의 검출을 위한 특이적 항혈청 개발 (Development of a Specific antibody for the Detection of Ice Nucleation-Active Bacteria)

  • Frost injury of crops is closely related to the epiphytic population dynamics of ice nucleation-active (INA) bacteria, and the injury can be reduced by decreasing the INA bacterial population. In order to predict the epiphytic population of INA bacteria on crops, a rapid and accurate detection method has to be developed. In the previous report, we produced some antibodies against INA proteins purified from the outer membrane of INA bacteria. However it was difficult to produce the antibodies because the purification procedures of the INA proteins were complicated, and the final yield was too low. We designed a specific peptide from the N-terminal region of INA protein by computer analysis and synthesized the peptide in vitro in this experiment. The peptide sequence was Asp-Ser-Por-Leu-Ser-Leu-His-Ala-Asp, that is corresponding to the highly conserved region in several INA proteins, with predicted beta turn, coiling, and hydrophilic region. A polyclonal anti-INA peptide antiserum produced specifically recognized INA bacteria as few as 10 colony-forming units (CFU) in the ELISA reactions and did not respond to other non-INA bacteria. Serological specificity of the anti-INA peptide antiserum will facilitate the forecasting of the INA bacterial population dynamics on crops.
