  • Hypertext is a web form consisted of HTML(hypertext markup language) which is used in Internet. Hypertext in costume is the product of modem industrial society. Hypertext is not a mechanical technique that enlarges external capacity of human beings. It is rather a motif that extends the internal ability of human beings. It brings about the social innovation by extending the expression realm of costume and providing the various views of recognition. This study regards costume not as an artistic work but as a text which interacts in the open relationship of human body, society and culture and causes dynamic generation of meaning. This study distinguishes Plasticitic Characteristics of Hypertext in Costume with intertextuality, rhizome, interactivity in the structural characteristics of hypertext which is a typical trait of digital culture of openness and variousness. In conclusion, this study clarified plasticitic value of modem costume, which expresses vague isms and the pargidm of multi-typed culture most sensitively and condretley, and expressional forms in relation with the structural characteristics of hypertext.

  • The paper describes the application areas of the hypertext and the relevance of hypertext principles to the information retrieval system. As to the techniques of the hypertext information retrieval the various navigation method including a guided tour, a history list, a browser, a book-mark, etc. are discussed. The query system is considered as the other technique to be integrated into the hypertext system for the enhancement of the interactive function of the information retrieval. Based on the theoretical background, a conceptual model of hypertext information retrieval system was constructed using GUIDE which was developed by P.J. Brown of Kent University. 16 bibliographic records from LISA of 1991(June) were used for the illustration of the basic operation of the system. Though the study could not reach the implementation level due to the absolute constraints of the time and experimental environments, further efforts will continue to develop a prototype system of a hypertext information retrieval. A few conclusions can be derived from the study : (1) The integration of the hypertext into the information retrieval system can be justified by permitting the end-users to have much stronger and more flexible interaction with the system. (2) The more the degree of the sofistication of the existing information retrieval system is the more the possibility of the development of an effective and user-oriented information retrieval system will be greater by integrating guide as a front end system to the underlying software. (3) The deep knowledge about the functions of information retrieval which can be enhanced by the hypertext could be acquired by the information retrieval specialists.

  • Use of a hypertext is growing as multimedia and hypermedia systems become popular. The major difference between hypertext-based and ordinary user interfaces is navigation. Typically, there are two major navigation problems in a hypertext compared to the ordinary user interface: "Disorientation" and "Cognitive Overload". To reduce or eliminate these problems of the hypertext system, a variety of aiding tools have been proposed. Among them, a local map is a good tool for helping users navigate through screens, especially for a large and complex system. This study examined three major design variables of a local map in a hypertext: breadth, depth, and functionality of a map. A human factors experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of these variables. Based upon the results of the experiment, design guidelines are suggested.

  • According to developing digital media, the delivery and the collection of information are changing with a variety of ways. Especially, digital, as it is, is easy for its sound, video and letter to be mixed. Therefore, media character, Audio-Visual will appear in total. Hypertext must be a basic form in the traveling way of media information which includes such digital Quality in originality. Taking advantage of digital media trait of hypertext , most users can make a research on a variety of studying method. On this thesis, a style of made-up hypertext is taking a part of recent digital culture, and I want to present a different method in research, using two hypertext skills, adventurous choice and joint origination

  • Hypertext system is a new type of electronic information system which offers users great freedom in writing and reading electronic documents. Hypertext means non-linear or non-sequential text, which consists of a collection of nodes connected by links. Nodes may contain segments of text, video images, and sound. In this paper, the concept and characteristics of hypertext are reviewed, components of hypertext are explored in detail, and Guide is illustrated with application examples.

  • This study aims to improve subject retrieval by constructing the hypertext-based thesaurus to provide a browsing interface to a thesaurus. The experimental system used IBM 486 DXII as a hardware, C++ language as a programming language and Hangul Window 3.1 version as a user interface. The results of this study are summarized as follows : (1) The experimental hypertext-based thesaurus can be used as an efficient search aid for query formulation for the retrieval of bibliographic information. (2) The initial access to the hypertext-based thesaurus is via a keyword index. This index is consist of all the words used to form thesaurus terms, whether descriptors or nondescriptors. (3) Hypertext-based thesaurus allow bookmark button and history button to alleviating the problem of disorientation. (4) This system allow an end-user to view a rich variety of inter-term relationships and a complete conceptus of associations through the information space in a nonsequential manner.

  • In the middle of that a information form is being formlessly changed to diverse deirections, a design and a space as physical consequence show not only a allegory but mutually relational charicteristic meaning a nonboundary and nonlinear form by development of modem digital culture. Following development of the modern digital culture, a design and space which are physical results, show a point of correlative specificity, allegory, nonlinear and nonboundary, Not only a design and culture but also various circles handle a hypertext as a representative pivot in this change. this has same contexts as rhizome possessing a asignifiante and nomadic characteristic said by Felix Guattari and Gilles Deleuze. An ideal of rhizome space shows historical decisions, unexpected accidents, a concepts, an individual. a group, social compositions above an contrifugal exterior force, This study examines into surroundings designed by a hypertext and rhizome through a case accordingly and infers an ultramodern characteristic in conventional precognition with synthesizing a peculiarity of the digital generation space.

  • The purpose of this work is to develop automatic techniques for converting linear, paper-based documents to a non-linear format suitable for use in hypertext systems. The selected document was partially converted to hypertext manually, and a prototype was created using the rules derived from the manual conversion process. The full conversion was divided into three passes: correcting the electronic linear form of the document, generating a listing of the links in the document, and creating the hypertext document. Passes 2 and 3 were entirely automatic. From this study, it may be concluded that many classes of paper-based documents can be automatically converted to hypertext.

  • Hypertext raises question to general assumptions about our conventional conceptions of education. In this essay, three kinds of learning-models are presented by the application of "writing" hypertext literature to the English education of the elementary school. These models, which I call the "scene-centered" system, give knowledge to learners in non-linear, non-sequential structure. The term "scene" is a single concept or idea composed of a single sub-text, which is to be made by the group of students. This system is focused on the collaborative composition of students. Students, by generating sub-texts and connecting texts, perform the educational activities to expand the source text. The "scene-centered" system is, to put it into a Barte's term, a "writerly text." But in order to "write," "reading" should be accompanied. So, this system is a learning model in which writing and reading are carried on simultaneously. In all the process, students play a role of multi-user, with three access rights: read, write, and annotate. So, students making use of hypertext systems will act as reader-authors. And teachers will take the new role in collaborative writing environment. No longer the central authoritarian evaluator, they will become consultants, co-writers, coaches of their students.

  • The purpose of this study was to find effects of hypertext structure and self-direction on learning performance. To reach the goal, we got 69 H highschool students and tested self-direction we treat hypertext program to them. The results found were that hypertext style(non-structure, structure) didn't effect on academic achievement but did effect 1earner's self direction. Also, we found interactive effect of hypertext structure and self-direction on academic achievement. Following studies have limits verified learning effect, because this studies are carried out in short-term research. Further studies need the study of effect of hypertext structure and self-direction on academic achievement for a long-term research. Also, further studies should accomplish the study considering learner characteristics besides self-direction and will need succeeding studies including various learning contents besides computer general curriculum.
