As advances in artificial intelligence (AI) increasingly approach areas once relegated to the realm of science fiction, there is growing public interest in using these technologies for practical everyday tasks in both the home and the workplace. This paper explores the applications of and implications for of using ChatGPT, a conversational AI model based on GPT-3.5 and GPT-4.0, in the field of occupational health and safety. After gaining over one million users within five days of its launch, ChatGPT has shown promise in addressing issues ranging from emergency response to chemical exposure to recommending personal protective equipment. However, despite its potential usefulness, the integration of AI into scientific work and professional settings raises several concerns. These concerns include the ethical dimensions of recognizing AI as a co-author in academic publications, the limitations and biases inherent in the data used to train these models, legal responsibilities in professional contexts, and potential shifts in employment following technological advances. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive overview of these issues and to contribute to the ongoing dialogue on the responsible use of AI in occupational health and safety.
Objectives : The objectives of this study is to investigate the handwashing and use of personal protection equipment in dental hygienists and provide the basic data for dental infection control guideline. Methods : A questionnaire survey was performed in the dental hygienists who participated in the continuing education by the Daejeon City Commission in October 2012. The collected data were analyzed using PASW 18.0. Results : Handwashing was well practiced in group working for 3 to 5 years of employment. Those who took the infection cnotrol training used liquid soap, paper towel, dental mask, protective goggles, face shield, and gloves. Conclusions : Infection control is the most important practice in dental hygienists. So it is necessary to emphasize the inportnace of personal protection equipment including medical gloves, dental mask, and goggles.
The paper presented the effect of Surveillance and Improvement of Children's Nutritional Status in China The survery was conducted in 101 relatively poor counties in 27 provinces in 199-, 1993 and 1995 respectively. Physical measurement and blood biochemisty was take for 86, 397 children aged under five years. The intervention activities were carried out for 5 year in those 101 counties, e. g. nutrition education promotion of food production family poultry and livestock raising soybean production and utilization home gardening, nutrition food development for children Having the above mentioned measures the prevalence of stunting dropped by 21% wasting decreased by 25% and anemia lowered by 49% during 5 years It is suggested that it should be carried out continuously and promotion efforts should be intensified so as to reach the goal of improving children's nutritional status.
Originally, vitamin K was defined as a factor for blood coagulation. Now more attention is focused on vitamin K for bone metabolism and bone health. Vitamin K is a coenzyme for glutamate carboxylase which converts glutamate residues to ${\gamma}$-carboxyglutamate(Gla) residues. Gla residues have calcium binding ability and bound to hydroxyapatite crystals in bone. Vitamin K promotes the carboxylation of osteocalcin and matrix Gla-protein, vitamin K-dependent proteins and improves bone mineral density and bone mass. Vitamin K deficiency causes reductions in bone mineral density and increases the risk of osteoporotic bone fractures, resulting from undercarboxylated osteocalcin. This paper is to provide a brief information of vitamin K and its role in bone health.

Softness is considered one of the most important attributes of hygiene paper such as tissue and towel. Being subjective in nature, however, softness attribute has been generally believed to be impossible to evaluate using objective methods. Hallmark in his pioneering work proposed that tissue subjective softness should be mainly consisted of the bulk softness component and surface softness component. The bulk softness component can be determined by tensile stiffness; the surface softness component by surface tester. The surface friction turns out far more important than the surface roughness in determining the surface softness component. It cannot be too much emphasized that both results of the tensile stiffness and the surface friction should depend on measuring conditions such as an instrument used, sample sizes (e.g., basis weight, length, and width) and operating conditions of the instrument (e.g., gauge length, cross-head speed, size of stylus, and its scanning speed). This indicates that a direct comparison of the test results would be impossible or misleading unless they have been tested under the identical conditions. This may explain why the standard objective test method for tissue softness has not been available at present.
Background: In this study, four types of effervescent vitamins marketed in Korea were analyzed for their acidity and vitamin content. For this purpose, bovine teeth were immersed in vitamin, and surface microhardness and appearance were measured before and after immersion to evaluate tooth demineralization and erosion. Methods: Bovine permanent incisors with sound surface enamel were cut to 5×5 mm size, embedded in acrylic resin, and polished using a polishing machine with Sic-paper. The prepared samples were analyzed for pH, vitamin content, and surface hardness before and after immersion using a surface microhardness meter. Demineralization of surface dental enamel was observed using a scanning electron microscope. Results: The average pH of the four effervescent vitamins was less than 5.5; the pH of the positive control Oronamin C was the lowest at 2.76, while that of the negative control Samdasoo was the highest at 6.86. The vitamin content was highest in Berocca and lowest in the DM company Multivitamin. On surface microhardness analysis, surface hardness values of all enamel samples were found to be decreased significantly after 1 and 10 minutes of immersion (p<0.05). After 10 minutes of immersion, there was a significant difference in the decrease in hardness between the experimental groups (p<0.05). Scanning electron microscopy observation showed that dental enamel demineralization after 10 minutes of immersion was the most severe in Oronamin C except for Samdasoo, followed by DM company Multivitamin and VitaHEIM. Immersion in BeroNew and Berocca resulted in similar effects. Conclusion: There is a risk of tooth erosion due to decreased tooth surface microhardness when using the four types of effervescent vitamins and vitamin carbonated beverages with pH below 5.5. Therefore, high pH vitamin supplements are recommended to prevent tooth erosion.
This paper was trying to investigate the periodontal health recognition and self oral hygiene behaviors and figure out that relationship. The results having analyzed 592 questionnaires returned patient who had visited the dental clinic which is selected randomly were following. There were relationships between the periodontal health recognition and self oral hygiene behaviors. Self oral hygiene behaviors were significantly high when, women did than men did, education level, subjective oral health status, and periodontal health recognition about managements were higher and periodontal health recognitions about treatment were lower. It was the periodontal health recognition that was influential the most in the independent variables. Therefore, knowledge related to the periodontal health should be educated to the patients visiting the dental clinic, and the patients should receive helps to perform self oral hygiene behaviors by inducing the transition of attitude to periodontal health.
Objectives: This paper aimed to contribute to better oral disease prevention and practice of health behavior for immigrant women in multi-cultural families, to define missing and filled permanent teeth index of immigrant women, data from the 6th Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey from the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention was used. Methods: For the immigrant women to be subjects, they needed to be born overseas, had acquired Korean citizenship as a married immigrant women, and the estimate of the number of subjects was 133,093 women. For analyzing data, SPSS 21statistical program was used. We used covariance analysis (ANCOVA) andgeneral linear models for finding the relation with the missing and filled permanent teeth index. The significance level was 0.05. Results: DMFT-index of immigrant women was 7.33 points. $R^2$ was 0.416; and increased with age, and $R^2$ was 0.126 points higher (p<0.01). In household income, 'lower' was 5.933 points lower than 'upper' (p<0.05), and in toothbrushing after lunch, 'yes' was 3.598 points lower than 'no' (p<0.01). In preventive treatment, 'yes' was 4.301 points lower than 'no' (p<0.05). Conclusions: The result of this paper is as follows: for maintaining oral health of immigrant women, we think that the government needs to develop an oral health policy and a customized education system suited to immigrant women for preventive management of dental disease in immigrant women. In addition, basic data will be provided for public dental health programs based on the result of the study.
Objectives : The purpose of this paper is to analyze the effects of short-term oral health care on children at community care centers, in order to allow them to maintain good oral health. Methods : The SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science), Window Version 18.0 was used to analyze the data for the children's present conditions of oral health; their ability to maintain good oral health; their general knowledge about oral health; changes in their oral health awareness; habit formations concerning oral health; and the satisfaction level of oral health education. Results : 1. While the average number of teeth before the program is 19.84(6.19), that of teeth after the program is 21.33(6.10). 2. Average test scores on oral health information of post-program are improved more than those of pre-program. 3. The 8th measurement of O'Leary plaque index is 3.27, which shows significant changes. 4. Satisfaction level with the program is 4.75(0.45), which shows that children are satisfied with the program. Conclusions : The paper shows that in order to maintain the oral health of children at community care centers, their habit formation and practice for the oral health is important. It also shows that cooperation among communities and public health centers is important to develop various oral health education programs like the program.
The purpose of this paper is to present the potential application of tissue adhesive in the management of traumatized gingival wound in clinical dental hygiene practice. Cyanoacrylate adhesive has been used for closure of superficial laceration without suturing, which is available in periodontal and oral surgery. Small gingival or mucosal lacerations may occur by improper or excessive instrumentation of the dental hygienist during scaling and root planing procedure. In this circumstances, tissue adhesive is very effective, simple, and convenient method as an alternative to conventional wound closure by suturing. The tissue adhesive consists of monomeric n-butyl-2-cyanoacrylate, which polymerizes quickly in contact with tissue fluid. The sutureless treatment of gingival laceration with tissue adhesive has advantages of good esthetic results, less trauma, time saving, antibacterial and hemostatic effects. In addition, local anesthesia as well as re-visit for dressing and removal of suture are not required. Use of tissue adhesive could be beneficial to both dental hygienist and patient in the management of procedural error.
