  • The reaction of 1,1'-bis(dimethylhydrosilyl)ferrocene with alkynes in the presence of a catalytic amount of ($C_2H_4$)Pt$(PPh_3)_2$ leads to the acyclic mixture of monohydrosilylated and/or dihydrosilylated compounds. But the analogous reactions in the presence of Ni$(PEt_3)_4$ catalyst yield monohydrosilylated compounds or dihydrosilylated products. The monohydrosilylated products were generated from the reactions of alkenes with the silylated ferrocene using nickel catalyst.

  • Silicone surfactants are widely used in many industrial area because of its thermal stability and lower foaming property. But it has limitation to expand the application because of migration and bubble generation issues when it is mixed with organic surfactant. In this study, epoxy functionalized fluoro-silicone surfactant, perfluoro glycidoxypropyl polyether siloxane(PFGES), was synthesized using hydrosilylation reaction among perfluoro methyl hydrogen siloxane, allyl glycidyl ether, and allyl ployether in order to get lower surface tension, better thermal stability than conventional silicone surfactant, and reactivity with anhydride function.

  • The silanedendrimer with 64 allylic end groups was prepared via a divergent growth approach. The reaction path of the repetitive alkenylation and hydrosilylation cycles was monitored by NMR spectroscopic analysis. Each of the two steps provided almost quantitative yields of pure dendrimers.

  • Silane dendrimer with 96 allylic end groups has been synthesized in excellent yield using repetitive alkenylation-hydrosilylation cycles. Each of the two steps provided the products in almost quantitative yields. After a simple chromotograpic purification (silica gel, chloroform), pure dendrimers were obtained and their purity was checked with 1H, 13C NMR spectroscopic method and elemental analysis.

  • Hyperbranched polysiloxysilanes (HBPSs), with a variety of terminal functional groups (vinyl, epoxy, carboxyl and hydroxyl), were synthesized by the self-polymerization of an $AB_3$ type monomer of tris(dimethylvinylsiloxy) silane, with subsequent end-functionalizations, such as epoxidation and radical addition reaction, respectively. The ratio of the $\alpha-and$ $\beta-addition$ linkages in the HBPS polymerized by hydrosilylation of the $AB_3$ monomer was found to be approximately 1 to 3. The thermal stability and solubility were affected by the terminal functional groups.

  • Interaction of triethylsilane and diphenylsilane ($Ph_2$$SiH_2$, $Ph_2$$SiD_2$) with the surfaces of rhodium has been examined by trapping the reaction intermediates with 2,3-dimethyl-l,3-butadiene. 1,4-Hydrosilylation of the diene is predominantly observed to occur under mild condition over the rhodium catalyst. It is inferred from the product analyses that silylene and silyl radicals bonded to rhodium surfaces are the intermediates for addition of silylene to the diene, and for 1,4-hydrosilylation, respectively.

  • Hydroxypropyl terminated PDMS was synthesized by the hydrosilylation reaction with allyl alcohol in the presence of Karstedt's catalyst. And them, an one-pot reaction with HDI isocyanurate trimer and hydroxyethyl methacrylate was conducted to give a silicone-modified urethane acrylate oligomer (PUA oligomer) having 9000 g/mol, weight average molecular weight. The synthesized PUA oligomer was characterized by using FT-IR and GPC. The UV-curable coatings were prepared by PUA oligomer blending with a reactive monomer (phenylthioethyl acrylate) under the different mole ratios. It was found that the refractive index of cured film increased when the reactive monomer was added but there was no relationship between the refractive index and amount of reactive monomer. Also, their transmittance for cured films was not change as increasing the content of reactive monomer.

  • A dendrimeric silane containing 162 allylic end groups is prepared via a divergent growing approach. The reaction process of the repetitive alkenylation and hydrosilylation cycles was monitored by NMR spectroscopic attachments. Both steps provided almost quantitative yields of pure silane dendrimers.
