헤드 트래킹 시스템을 이용한 가상 굴삭기의 편의 관측 시스템 개발 (Development of the Flexible Observation System for a Virtual Reality Excavator Using the Head Tracking System)

  • Excavators are versatile earthmoving equipment that are used in civil engineering, hydraulic engineering, grading and landscaping, pipeline construction and mining. Effective operator training is essential to ensure safe and efficient operating of the machine. The virtual reality excavator based on simulation using conventional large size monitors is limited by the inability to provide a realistic real world training experience. We proposed a flexible observation method with a head tracking system to improve user feeling and sensation when operating a virtual reality excavator. First, an excavation simulator is designed by combining an excavator SimMechanics model and the virtual world. Second, a head mounted display (HMD) device is presented to replace the cumbersome large screens. Moreover, an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) sensor is mounted to the HMD for tracking the movement of the operator's head. These signals consequently change the virtual viewpoint of the virtual reality excavator. Simulation results were used to analyze the performance of the proposed system.

굴삭기 상부작업체에서 틈새에 의한 버켓의 거동 편차에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Deviation of Bucket Behavior Considering the Effect of Clearance in the Excavator)

  • Bucket trajectory is crucial regarding precision work with an excavator. In general, the bucket trajectory deviation is determined by the machining deviation of the frame, driving deviation of the driving hydraulic cylinder, clearance in the joints, and deformation of the structure. This paper investigated the relationship between the respective clearance in joints and the trajectory deviation of the bucket at the finishing work of the ditching for a 20-ton excavator. As a result, the larger the clearance, the larger deviation is increased at trajectory. However, it was found that the deviation of the rotation angle and displacement of the bucket was limited and the size of clearance does not affect closely on the contact angle of the pin shaft.

  • The radiated noise of the excavator is composed of the various noise sources such as the diesel engine, cooling fan and hydraulic system, so the noise reduction for each noise source is required. In this study, the source contribution analysis for these principal noise sources is performed by using the noise source removal method. And to reduce the noise due to each one, the various experiments and analyses are studied. On the basis of these results, the proper reduction countermeasures are derived to develop the excavator satisfied the $2^{nd}$ noise regulation of EU.

  • The most bottleneck of development of automation excavator system is the making mathematical linear model. Because of non-linear of control circuit, cylinder, join in hydraulic circuit, and heavy loading so on. Therefore, whatever robust controller is designed, real experimentation is necessary. But, a real experimentation has many risks. The excavator is expensive and large size. Therefore a development of experimentation system is difficult and not safe. Specially, there have a difficulty, because of big noise. So, on experimentation is difficult in school. Manufacturing pneumatic excavator modeland using system identification, design a system transfer function in this paper. Also, planning m-PID Controller using CDM, and examining usefulness applied to actuality model.

  • Dimension and capacity of the zero tail type mini excavator are small as compared with medium or large excavators. Therefore, problems of the noise and the heat are major issues in design due to layout of each component such as the engine and the hydraulic module. It is necessary to reduce the noise and the vibration of construction machine, due to be enforced regulation for high noise construction machinery in the world. The objective of this study is to provide basic data which is apply to predict noise effect in detail design stage by estimating noise of cabin for zero tail type mini excavator.

  • The interactions between the excavation tool and the excavation environment are dynamic, unstructured and complex. In addition. operating modes of an excavator depend on working conditions, which makes it difficult to derive the exact mathematical model of excavator. Even after the exact mathematical model is established, it is difficult to design of a controller because the system equations are highly nonlinear and the state variable are coupled. The objective of this study is to design a fuzzy logic controller (FLC) which controls the position of excavator's attachment. This approach enables the transfer of human heuristics and expert knowledge to the controller. Expeiments are carried out to check the performance of the FLC.

  • The application of an excavator can be expanded to various works through change of end-effector. In this paper, a gripper, which can pick up and rotate a fixed formal stone, was developed. The device was designed and produced to pick up and rotate a stone for an excavator. The maximum weight of stone was computed to prevent from reversal in according to each displacement of attachments. The necessary force of a hydraulic cylinder to grip a stone was obtained by simulation.

드럼커터 어태치먼트의 작용력에 대한 현장시험 (Field Test for Estimation of Acting Force on the Drum Cutter Attachment)

  • 굴착기의 어태치먼트 형태로 사용하는 드럼커터는 현장에서 다양한 작업이 가능한 굴착기와 연계하여 사용하는 점에서 그 효용이 크다. 본 연구에서는 굴착기에 설치된 드럼커터 어태치먼트를 이용하여 노출된 암반사면을 대상으로 굴착 시 나타나는 유압과 변형률을 측정하여 드럼커터에 작용하는 하중과 토크를 추정하였다. 굴착기의 붐과 암의 작업각도와 sumping, lowering작업에 따라 8가지 작업모드로 구분하고 작업모드에 따른 유압과 작용력 변화를 분석한 결과, 유압과 유량은 드럼커터 어태치먼트의 제작사양에서 고려된 범위 내에서 문제없이 구동될 수 있음을 확인하였다. 드럼커터 어태치먼트에 작용하는 평균 하중과 토크는 제작사양의 범위 안에 있었지만, 최대하중은 제작사양의 4배까지 나타났다. 높은 지반강도의 영향으로 sumping이 적정하게 이루어지지 못한 점과 일부 위치에서 불연속면의 포함 등으로 인하여 굴착기의 붐과 암의 각도에 따른 하중과 토크의 경향을 발견하지 못하였다. 그러나 해당 결과는 높은 강도의 지반을 굴착할 경우에 드럼커터 어태치먼트에 나타나는 하중과 토크의 범위를 파악하는데 사용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.
