도시철도차량 차체의 경량화를 위한 소재 변경 및 구조체 최적화 연구 (Study on Weight Reduction of Urban Transit Carbody Based on Material Changes and Structural Optimization)

  • 본 연구에서는 알루미늄 압출재로 구성된 한국형 표준전동차모델(K-EMU)의 차체를 대상으로 치수 최적설계와 구조체 소재 변경을 통한 경량화방안에 대해 연구하였다. 우선 K-EMU 차체의 하부구조, 측벽구조, 단부구조의 부재별 두께를 현재의 압출가능 두께를 적용하여 치수 최적화 기법으로 약 14.8% 경량화 하였다. 그리고 치수최적설계 된 K-EMU 차체에 유지보수성이 좋은 고장력강(SMA570)재질의 프레임타입 하부구조를 적용하여 초기 K-EMU 차체대비 약 3.8% 경량화 된 하이브리드 차체를 도출하였다. 마지막으로 샌드위치 복합재를 하부구조와 지붕구조에 적용하여 초기 K-EMU 차체대비 약 30% 경량화 된 초경량 하이브리드 차체를 도출하였다. 도출된 차체 모델들은 모두 전동차 구조체 하중시험법을 만족하였다.

FRP Rod를 이용한 표면매립 및 단면 확대 복합 보수$\cdot$보강 공법 (Repair and Strengthening Method Using Near Surface Mounted FRP Rods and Overlay)

  • This paper reports new repair and strengthening mathod using improved material. This mathod have two type according to covering thickness of reinforcement. One type is near surface mounted FRP rod. Anther type is overay. Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) materials has become very popular in recent years. FRP material used to rehabilitate many types of structures with superior characteristics such as high strength and stiffness and corrosion resistance. This strengthening mathod were used FRP rod which have better bond and shear strangth than current FRP rod. Development of FRP rod due to 3-D winding system. In addition, Ductile hybrid FRP has a certain plastic deformation and an elongation greater than 3% at maximum load is usually required for steel reinforcement in concrete structures. Moerover this mathod can be effective repair of base concrete by sprayed polymer mortar.

브레이드 투루젼법에 의한 콘크리트 구조물용 하이브리드 섬유강화 복합재료 리바 개발 (Development of Hybrid Fiber Reinforced Plastics Rebar for Concrete Structure by the Braidtrusion Process)

  • This paper describes the design methodology, manufacturing process, rebar tensile and bending properties. Braidtrusion is a direct Composite fabrication technique utilizing an in-line braiding and pultrusion process. The produced Composite rebar exhibits ductile stress-strain behavior similar to that of conventional steel bar. Various rebar diameters ranging from modeling scale(3m) to full-scale prototype of 9.5mm have been produced Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastics(GFRP) rebar were successfully fabricated at $\phi$8.5mm and $\phi$9.5mm nominal diameters of soild and hollow type using a braidtrusion process. Tensile and bending specimens were tested and compared with behavior of stress-strain of GFRP rebar and steel bar.

히터 일체형 하이브리드 단판형 플라즈마 방전소자 (One-Plate Type Hybrid Plasma Discharge Device with Heating Element)

  • Recently, the application of atmospheric plasma technology in air filtration is increasing. Sterilization by an atmospheric plasma device is very effective. However, ozone gas, which is generated during atmospheric plasma formation, poses a hazard to human health. To reduce the ozone gas during plasma discharge, we fabricated a one-plate hybrid plasma discharge device with a heating element, which can decompose ozone gas effectively by a simple heating action. In this study, we evaluated the plasma discharge characteristics and ozone concentrations with various Ar flow rates and temperatures. With increasing Ar gas flow rate, the ozone concentration and spectrum intensity increased till an Ar gas flow rate of 60 sccm, and decreased thereafter. When discharged in high temperature, the ozone concentration and spectrum intensity decreased. Further, to evaluate the state of the treated surface under various plasma discharge and heating conditions, we measured the variation in the contact angles on the surface. Regardless of the temperature, the contact angle increased with increasing discharge voltage. However, the contact angle increased when discharged at high temperature.

Microstructure and Properties of Fully Aliphatic Polyimide/Mesoporous Silica Hybrid Composites

  • We report the effect of the amount of the mesoporous material, SBA-15, on the basic traits of fully aliphatic polyimides (API). For this purpose, water soluble, fully aliphatic poly(amic acid) triethyl amine salts ($PAA_{(s)}$) were prepared and mixed with various amounts of SBA-15. Fully aliphatic polyimide hybrid composites containing the SBA 15-type mesoporous silica were synthesized successfully from bicyclo [2.2.2] oct-7-ene-2,3,5,6-tetracarboxylic dianhydride and alicyclic diamine, 4,4'-methylene bis(2-methylcyclohexylamine). The structure of the hybrid composites was confirmed by IR spectroscopic analysis. Scanning electron microscopy revealed the morphology of the compounds. The hybrid composites exhibited good thermal stability, reasonable transparency, and a low dielectric constant.

변형률-수명 평가기법을 이용한 Al/CFRP 하이브리드 적층 복합재의 피로수명 측정 (The Estimation of Fatigue Life for Al/CFRP Hybrid Laminated Composites using the Strain-Life Method)

  • Hybrid laminated Al/carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) composites are attracting considerable attention from industries such as aerospace and automobiles owing to their excellent specific strength and specific rigidity. However, when this material is used to fabricate high-pressure fuel storage containers subjected to repeated fatigue loads, fatigue life evaluation for the working load is regulated as an important criterion for operational safety and ease of maintenance. Among the existing evaluation methods for these vessels, the burst test and the hydraulic repeat test require expensive facilities. Thus, the present study aims to develop an improved fatigue life test for Al/CFRP laminated hybrid composites. The test specimen was manufactured using a curved mold considering the shape of a type III high-pressure storage container. The strain-life method was used for fatigue life evaluation, and the life was predicted based on the transition life. The results indicate that the more complex the CFRP stacking sequence, the longer is the transition life. This test method is expected to be useful for ensuring the fatigue safety and economy of hybrid laminate composites.

Hybrid type Na-air battery를 위한 촉매들의 제조 및 전극 계면 반응 성능 비교 (Preparation of Electrocatalysts and Comparison of Electrode Interface Reaction for Hybrid Type Na-air Battery)

  • 신재생 에너지 발전을 통한 안정적인 전력 공급을 위해 대용량 에너지 저장 장치의 중요성이 최근 부각되고 있다. 이러한 관점에서 차세대 이차 전지인 Na-air battery (NAB)는 풍부하고 저렴한 원재료를 통해 대용량을 구현할 수 있어 많은 관심을 받고 있다. 본 연구에서는 Hybrid type Na-air battery를 위한 활성탄 기반 촉매들을 제조하여 이들의 특성을 비교 분석하였다. 특히, 자원 재활용의 관점에서 버려진 오렌지 껍질을 사용하여 활성탄(Orange-C)과 이를 질소를 이용하여 도핑한 활성탄(N-doped-Carbon, Nd-C)을 제조하였으며, 널리 사용되고 있는 Vulcan카본과 성능을 비교하였다. 또한, 제조한 활성탄(Nd-C)이 지지 촉매로 활용 가능한지 확인하기 위해 수정된 폴리올법을 사용하여 Pt/C 촉매(homemade-Pt/C, HM-Pt/C)를 합성하였으며, 상용화된 Pt/C 촉매(Commercial Pt/C)와 전기화학적 성능을 비교하였다. 제조된 Orange-C와 Nd-C는 전형적인 H3 타입 BET isotherm을 보였으며, 이는 마이크로 기공과 메조기공이 존재한다는 증거이다. 또한, HM-Pt/C의 경우, 활성탄(Nd-C) 지지 촉매 위에 Pt 입자가 고르게 분포하고 있음을 TEM 분석을 통해 확인할 수 있었다. 특히, HM-Pt/C 기반의 NAB의 경우, 1st galvanostatic charge-discharge 시험에서 가장 작은 Voltage gap (0.224V)과 우수한 Voltage efficiency (92.34%)를 보였다. 또한, 20사이클 동안 진행한 사이클 성능 시험에서도 가장 안정적인 성능을 보였다.

스크롤 기기 이용 공압식 회생제동시스템의 연비향상 효과에 관한 연구 (A Theoretical Study on Fuel Economy Improvements by Pneumatic Type Braking Energy Regeneration System Using the Scroll Mechanism)

  • 하이브리드 자동차는 전기방식 회생제동을 이용하여 연비가 우수하다. 본 논문에서는 새로운 공압식 회생제동 장치를 소개하였다. 공압식 회생제동장치는 압축과 팽창기능을 동시에 가지는 스크롤 기구를 이용한다. 차량 감속시에는 스크롤 기기는 압축기로 작동되면서 대기중의 공기를 압축하여 압축탱크에 저장한 후 차량 가속시에는 스크롤기구가 팽창기로 작동되면서 탱크에 저장된 압축공기가 차량 운동에너지로 활용된다. 회생제동장치를 사용함으로써 개선되는 연비를 분석하기 위해, CVS-75 모드 주행조건에서 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다.

Mat 묘(苗)의 크리이프 및 회복특성(回復特性) (Creep and Recovery Properties of Mat-type Rice Seedlings)

  • The mechanical and rheological properties of agricultural materials which influence the machine design or handling are not completely understood. Agricultural materials do not react in a purely elastic manner, and their responses when subjected to stress and strain appear a combination of elastic and viscous behavior. Many researchers have studied the mechanical and rheological properties of the various agricultural materials, but those properties are available mostly for foreign varieties of agricultural products. Rheological properties of rice seedlings become important to formulate the principles governing their mechanical behavior. The objectives of this study were to experimentally determine the creep and recovery behavior of rice seedlings of one japonica-type and one Indica x japonica hybrid in the transplanting age. The results of this study are summarized as follows; 1. The compression creep and recovery behavior of mat-type seedlings could be described by 4-element Burger's model. 2. The steady-state creep appeared at the stress larger than 0.8 MPa and the logarithmic creep appeared at the stress smaller than 0.8 MPa. 3. In the compression creep test of the rice seedlings, the instantaneous elastic modulus of Burger's model showed the range from 20 to 40 MPa. The higher value of absolute viscosity for the rice seedling explained that the rice seedlings were viscoelastic materials. 4. In the recovery test of the rice seedlings, there was a tendency that the higher permanent strain of all samples was observed under the smaller stress being appeared, and the larger permanent strain in Dongjin was observed than in Samkang.

An experimental and numerical investigation on fatigue of composite and metal aircraft structures

  • The static strength and fatigue crack resistance of the aircraft skin structures depend on the materials used and joint type. Most of the commercial aircraft's skin panel structures are made from aluminium alloy and carbon fibre reinforced epoxy. In this study, the fatigue resistance of four joint configurations (metal/metal, metal/composite, composite/composite and composite/metal) with riveted, adhesive bonded, and hybrid joining techniques are investigated with experiments and finite element analysis. The fatigue tests were tension-tension because of the typical nature of the loads on aircraft skin panels susceptible of experimenting fatigue. Experiment results suggest that the fatigue life of hybrid joints is superior to adhesive bonded joints, and these in turn much better than conventional riveted joints. Thanks to the fact that, for hybrid joints, the adhesive bond provides better load distribution and ensures load-carrying capacity in the event of premature adhesive failure while rivets induce compressive residual stresses in the joint. Results from FE tool ABAQUS analysis for adhesive bonded and hybrid joints agrees with the experiments. From the analysis, the energy release rate for adhesive bonded joints is higher than that of hybrid joints in both opening (mode I) and shear direction (mode II). Most joints show higher energy release rate in mode II. This indicates that the joints experience fatigue crack in the shear direction, which is responsible for crack opening.
