Korea's aging population is increasing rapidly every year. In addition, because of the increase in quantity of apartment complexes, the number of elderly living in apartment complexes is also rising steadily. Consequently, caring about the elderly residents is getting more important in apartment complexes. Currently the most common recreational facility for senior in the apartment complex is 'Kyungrodang'. However, 'Kyungrodang' has not been used as an active community area to elderly residents due to lack of leisure programs and other services. The purpose of this study was to give direction to support leisure life and healthy living for senior residents and to make 'Kyungrodang' usable community space for the residents of all generations. In connection with this, this study also identified to find ways to revitalizing for 'Kyungrodang'. The result of the study suggested the ideas than can improve the usably of 'Kyungrodang' not only to the elderly residents but also to all residents in terms of space planning and leisure programs.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the current situation of physical and intangible assets, and to analyze the use of planning in a new cultural space creation project areas. For this study, literature survey, filed survey and participant observation methods were used for data collection. The results were as follows. 1) The project's characteristics had a variety of space utilization's scope. It was to emphasize the organizations and participants in the human side. 2) There are the pumping stations, mokgammak, mills, barbershops, marketplaces etc in physical assets, and it was worth the historic or agricultural facility. 3) The using plans of three kinds in hardware facilities, software programs, human ware(human abilities)are linked to each other organically. 4) The problems in the project's process include the administrative and institutional factors rather than planning matters.

The paper presents an implementation procedure of assembly line for ABS motor, which is composed of four subassemblies-yoke, grommet, housing and armature. The characteristics of ABS motor and its assembly processes are analysed, and the automation possibility of each process is examined in order to decrease assembly time. The assembly machines and facilities are then selected for automatic assembly, and the layout of the selected facilities is determined. Finally, task allocation of each worker is achieved by assembly line balancing to increase assembly productivity and efficiency. The line efficiency is also analyzed using simulation.

From the year 2000, Korea comes into the aging society and this increasing will be an important social problem. As the elderly growing rapidly, the various types of the elderly housing residence have been developed. The elderly who live in these residential facilities go through communal living, and various community has been happened. For that reason we would research the community space of elderly loving facilites, and first analyzed space program of those. After this, we'll analyse managerial programs and observe elderly's behavior in community space.

This study has an intention of investigating residential present condition of small households, and analysing the factors which have an influence on the choice of residence as a first step of the efficient plan of group residential facility providing a variety of residential present condition. The study defines the meaning of small households on the basis of statistical data that were presented at the National Statistical Office in order to analyse the factors influencing the choice of residence and investigate residential present condition. And the analysis range target is from 20 to 30 aged groups such as university students, social rookie year, and married couples without children. According to the result of analysing residential actual conditions of small households, The choice of residence has various factors. But the study supposes that it reflects three elements of workplace, University and housing price in the choice of residence. So the study investigated the related data.

In order to get the practical suggestions concerning the development of the domestic senior facilities in the rural area, a survey was made in the Philippines and Thailand to grip the policies and programs for senior, by visiting the government institute and senior village facilities. As for the Philippines, Philippine Retirement Authority was attracting investment of foreigners and individuals having Philippine citizenship, by issuing SRRV(the Special Resident Retiree's Visa), and as for Thailand, the Thai Longstay Management Company Limited was providing membership system for the abode of foreigners. In case of the domestic residence for seniors, it is suggested that the development of the senior housing community be designed in accordance with the diversified purposes of residence; that is, the prime concern of the community should be reflected on the characteristics of the retiree group (such as the lifestyle, health situation, etc), and at the same time, special concern also be showed on managing the community club house facilities, and keeping the amicable relations between the retiree residents and the local villagers.

A structured questionnaire was distributed to families using some of the ten specialized caring facilities throughout Gyeongbuk Province. Of the 294 responses, 242 were usable. Results showed that (1) facilities were most used by families of children with autism (31.3%) and by families with severely handicapped children (96.3%). (2) Suggestions for improving facilities, included physical-, performance-, and language-therapies (60%) and teachers with expertise in special education (47.8%).(3) More than half of the respondents were satisfied with the degree of care. (4) Satisfaction with degree of caring services varied with academic background of mothers, mothers' job status, degree of child's disability, length of usage, average expenditure for hospital visits, and burden to the family.

The purpose of paper is to suggest directions of sustainable Architecture for dwelling planning. It deals with foreign example regading recycling Architecture in the point of using natural reources and energy effectively and minimizing environmental wastes. The methods which can be applied to Korean dwelling planning are as follows : 1) To use the underground space of apartments as pubilc energy-saving facility 2) To use conservatory passive solar systems at south-facing balconies of apartments 3) To flow daylight into the staircase of single-family house 4) To construct compactly doors and windows which have high-level insulation with high insulated walls and ventilation systems 5) To recycle materials such as steel, wood and soil 6) To recycle space according to the change of uses 7) To make users participate actively when we plan for dwelling.

Because of developing medical science, lengthening the average life span and so on, the population of the elderly goes on increasing. The population of the healthy and high-income old people are increasing, also. So this study aimed to grasp the facilities and program situation of the welfare hall for the elderly as a welfare-leisure institution. The elderly be going to a hall are anticipated too many, based on the number of the hall per local old people. The majority of the hall are organized similar spaces and progams in them. There are almost not different things among the welfare halls and the locations. So they should be set on the aged' higher requirements and the old man's need varying in different localities. Also, 'gyoungrodang' remodeled in facilities and programs near their houses is likely to be recommended as the nest best thing.

The fate of two cyclic ethers, THF(Tetrahydrofuran) and 1,4-Dioxane, in conventional biological wastewater treatment plants was investigated using sequential activated sludge process. Removal efficiency of THF were about 86% in average, which was greater than that of 1,4-Dioxane, 30%. However, it was not clear whether the removal of cyclic ethers in biological system was caused by microbial activity or not. Thus treatability tests were conducted by batch experiments. The effects of mixing, aeration and the addition of activated sludge on the removal of cyclic ethers were investigated in batch experiments. THF was totally removed by mixing and aeration in 24 hours while removal ratio of 1,4-Dioxane was at most 30% for the same period. This results could be ascribed to the differences in Henry's law constants between the two chemicals. In addition, biological degradation including biosorption was not obviously observed in these batch tests.
