In this article, a comparative study has been made to investigate the scattering behaviour of three layered structure model on torsional surface wave. For such model intermediate layer is taken as fiber reinforced composite, resting over a dry sandy Gibson substratum and underlying by different anelastic media. We consider two distinct mediums for topmost layer. In the first case, topmost layer has been taken as fluid saturated homogeneous porous layer, while in the second case the fluid saturated porous layer has been replaced by a transversely isotropic layer. Simple form expression for the secular equation of torsional surface wave has been worked out in both the cases by executing specific boundary conditions, which comprises Whittaker's function and its derivative, for imminent result that have been elaborated asymptotically. Some special cases have been constituted which are in excellent compliance with recorded literatures. For the sake of comparative study, numerical estimation and graphical illustration have been accomplished to identify the effects of the width ratio of the layers, Biot's gravity parameter, sandy parameter, porosity parameter and other heterogeneity parameters corresponding to the layers and half spaces, horizontal compressive and tensile initial stress on the phase velocity of torsional surface wave.
Sintering behavior of nanostructured(NS) W-Cu powders prepared by mechanical alloying (MA) was investigated as a function of sintering temperature. MA NS W-2owt%Cu and W-3owt%Cu composite powders with the crystal size of 20-30 nm were annealed at 90$0^{\circ}C$, and thermal characteristics of those powders were investigated by DSC. Sintering behavior of MA NS W-Cu composite powders was investigated during the solid-state sintering and the Cu-liquid phase sintering. The new nanosintering phenonenon of MA W-Cu powders at solid-state sintering temperature was suggested to explain the W-grain growth in the inside of MA powders. The sintering densification of MA NS W-Cu powders was enhanced at Cu melting temperature by arrangement of MA powders, i.e., the first rearrangement of MA powders was occurred, and then the rearrangement of W-grains in the sintered parts was also took place during liquid-phase sintering, i.e., the second rearrangement was happened. Due to the double rearrangement process of MA NS W-Cu powders, the high sintered density with more than 96%o was obtained and the fine and high homogeneous state of W and Cu phases was achieved by sintering at 1200 $^{\circ}C$.

This paper introduces homogeneous liquid crystal (LC) orientations on chemically modulated polystyrene (PS) surfaces using various ion beam (IB) exposure time. Transparent PS was replaced with conventional polyimide material. As a non-contact process, IB bombardment process induced LC orientation in the direction parallel to the IB process. Through x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, it was shown that the chemical compositional changes of the IB-irradiated PS surfaces were determined as a function of IB exposure time.Using this analysis, the optimal IB bombardment condition was determined at IB exposure time of up to 15 s. Moreover, thermal stability on IB-irradiated PS surfaces were carried out which showed that a relatively high IB exposure time induced a thermally stable LC alignment property.
The underlying goal of the present paper is to investigate soil and structural uncertainties on impedance functions and structural response of soil-shallow foundation-structure (SSFS) system using Monte Carlo simulations. The impedance functions of a rigid massless circular foundation resting on the surface of a random soil layer underlain by a homogeneous half-space are obtained using 1-D wave propagation in cones with reflection and refraction occurring at the layer-basement interface and free surface. Firstly, two distribution functions (lognormal and gamma) were used to generate random numbers of soil parameters (layer's thickness and shear wave velocity) for both horizontal and rocking modes of vibration with coefficients of variation ranging between 5 and 20%, for each distribution and each parameter. Secondly, the influence of uncertainties of soil parameters (layer's thickness, and shear wave velocity), as well as structural parameters (height of the superstructure, and radius of the foundation) on the response of the coupled system using lognormal distribution was investigated. This study illustrated that uncertainties on soil and structure properties, especially shear wave velocity and thickness of the layer, height of the structure and the foundation radius significantly affect the impedance functions, and in same time the response of the coupled system.

In this paper, we investigate the static response. natural frequencies and buckling loads of functionally graded material (FGM) plates, using a Navier method. The eigenvalues of the FGM plates and shells are calculated by varying the volume fraction of the ceramic and metallic constituents using a sigmoid function, but their Poisson's ratios of the FGM plates and shells are assumed to be constant. The expressions of the membrane. bending and shear stiffness of FGM plates art more complicated combination of material properties than a homogeneous element. In order to validate the present solutions, the reference solutions of rectangular plates based on the classical theory are used. The various examples of composite and FGM structures are presented. The present results are in good agreement with the reference solutions.

We deal with the existence of positive radial solutions concentrating on spheres for the following class of elliptic system $$\large(S) \hfill{400} \{\array{-{\varepsilon}^2{\Delta}u+V_1(x)u=K(x)Q_u(u,v)\;in\;\mathbb{R}^N,\\-{\varepsilon}^2{\Delta}v+V_2(x)v=K(x)Q_v(u,v)\;in\;\mathbb{R}^N,\\u,v{\in}W^{1,2}(\mathbb{R}^N),\;u,v>0\;in\;\mathbb{R}^N,}$$ where ${\varepsilon}$ is a small positive parameter; $V_1$, $V_2{\in}C^0(\mathbb{R}^N,[0,{\infty}))$ and $K{\in}C^0(\mathbb{R}^N,[0,{\infty}))$ are radially symmetric potentials; Q is a $(p+1)$-homogeneous function and p is subcritical, that is, 1 < $p$ < $2^*-1$, where $2^*=2N/(N-2)$ is the critical Sobolev exponent for $N{\geq}3$.

Finite failure NHPP models presented in the literature exhibit either constant. monotonic increasing or monotonic decreasing failure occurrence rates per fault. Accurate predictions of software release times. and estimation of the reliability and availability of a software product require quality of a critical element of the software testing process : test coverage. This model called Enhanced non-homogeneous Poission process(ENHPP). In this paper, exponential coverage and S-type model was reviewed, proposes modified(the superosition and mixture) model, which make out efficiency application for software reliability. Algorithm to estimate the parameters used to maximum likelihood estimator and bisection method. model selection based on SSE statistics for the sake of efficient model, was employed.
The central theme of Habital heterogeneity is to provide animals with habital complexity or structural diversity and to allow resource partitioning among individuals. In turn, the leads to population stability because prey can escape more easily with more hiding places causing less population fluctuation. Species diversity is characterized due to more potential niches both horizontally and verticall. Empirically, in homogeneous habitats population was less abundant, reproduction and survival were lower, spacing behavior, competition and dispersal were higher than in heterogeneous habitats. The results imply that diversity and conservation of species can be maintained through providing heterogeneous habitats.
$(Ba_{0.6-x}Sr_{0.4}Ca_x)TiO_3+yAl_2O_3$ wt% (x=0.10, 0.15, 0.20, y=0.5 $\sim$ 3.0) specimens were fabricated by the mixed-oxide method and then the structural properties as a function of the composition ratio and $Al_2O_3$ contents were studied. All BSCT specimens showed dense and homogeneous structure without the presence of the seconds phase. The sintered density was decreased with increase ad $Al_2O_3$ content. The Curie temperature and dielectric constant at room temperature decreased with increasing $Al_2O_3$ content. The dielectric constant and dielectric loss of the doped-0.5 wt% $Al_2O_3$ BSCT(50/40/10) specimen were about 3131 and 0.932% at 1KHz, respectively.
Using time domain reflectometry, the complex dielectric spectra between 10 MHz to 20 GHz has been measured in the whole composition range at 10, 20, 30 and $40^{\circ}C$ for the binary mixtures of ethylene glycol and dimethyl sulfoxide. For all the mixtures, only one dielectric loss peak was observed in this frequency range. The relaxation in these mixtures can be described by a single relaxation time using the Debye model. A systematic variation is observed in dielectric constant (${\varepsilon}_0$) and relaxation time (${\tau}$). The excess permittivity (${\varepsilon}^E$), excess inverse relaxation time $(1/{\tau})^E$, Kirkwood correlation factor (g) and thermodynamic parameters viz. enthalpy of activation (${\Delta}H$) and Gibbs free energy of activation (${\Delta}G$) have been determined, to confirm the formation of hydrogen bonded homogeneous and heterogeneous cooperative domains, the dynamics of solute - solute interaction and the hindrance to molecular rotation in the hydrogen bonded glass forming ethylene glycol - dimethyl sulphoxide system.
