  • It has been reported that the LCD panel market in the FPD industry is become growing and its panel size and production capacity are increasing, and its manufacturing technique is improved every year. FPD manufacturing process requires high cleanliness in its overall process. Especially, FPD cleaning process which accounts for 30~40% of total manufacturing process is very important in its technological and productivity aspects. It is difficult to remove residual liquid-crystal in the fine gap after liquid-crystal injection process in the cell. In this study, aqueous cleaning agents with excellent cleaning, rinsing, and penetrating abilities, but minimum ion content for LCD panel were formulated through mixing glycol ether-type and glycol dimethyl ether-type solvents and nonionic surfactants which are widely used as raw materials for alternative cleaning agents because of environmental regulation at home and abroad. And the formulated cleaning agents were applied to clean FPD liquid crystal after its injection in the cell. Physical properties, cleaning efficiencies, and rinsabilities of the formulated cleaning agents with different combination ratios of solvents, surfactants and additives were measured. As experimental results, the formulated cleaning agents showed higher wetting indices and cloud point than the traditional commercial cleaning agent. And it was found that cleaning efficiencies of the formulated cleaning agents were influenced by the structure of main solvents in them and the types of liquid crystal as soil for cleaning. The best cleaning agents among the formulated cleaning agents showed similar cleaning efficiencies and better rinsabilities compared to the conventional cleaning agent.

  • We propose the ubiFloor system to track and recognize users in ubiquitous computing environments such as ubiHome. Conventional user identification systems require users to carry tag sensors or use camera-based sensors to be very susceptible to environmental noise. Though floor-type systems may relieve these problems, high cost of load cell and DAQ boards makes the systems expensive. We propose the transparent user identification system, ubiFloor, exploiting user's walking pattern to recognize the user with a set of simple ON/OFF switch sensors. The experimental results show that the proposed system can recognize the 10 enrolled users at the correct recognition rate of $90\%$ without users' awareness of the system.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the age-related changes of cardiovascular disease risk factors and inflammatory markers in non-obese Korean women. Subjects were 112 women over 20 years old with body mass index (BMI) less than $30 kg/m^2$ and were divided into 3 groups (< 40 years, $40{\sim}59$ years, ${\ge}60$ years). Mean weight and BMI in the oldest group were significantly higher than those in the other 2 younger groups (p < 0.05). Mean total cholesterol, triglyceride, LDL-cholesterol and apolipoprotein B/apolipoprotein A1 ratio (BAR) in the oldest group were significantly higher than those in the youngest group (p < 0.05), and mean HDL-cholesterol of the oldest group was significantly lower than that of the youngest group (p < 0.05). The older-aged group showed significantly higher mean values of atherogenic index (AI) and LDL/HDL ratio (p < 0.05) than the respective younger-aged group, and AI was significantly correlated with age, nitric oxide and thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (p < 0.01). In addition, mean vascular cell adhesion molecule-l (VCAM-1) tended to be higher in the older-aged group than the younger group. Tumor necrosis factor-${\alpha}$, a proinflammatory maker, was significantly positively correlated with serum homocysteine, a cardiovascular disease risk factor (p < 0.01). In addition, a significantly positive correlation was observed between C-reactive protein and BAR (p < 0.01). Overall results suggested that the aging might affect the increase of cardiovascular disease risk factors including the serum lipid profiles, weight and BMI, and age-related increases of weight and BMI might play a role in changes in certain biomarkers of inflammation. • The effect of gamma-irradiation on the microbiological and general quality changes of the Chungkukjang was studied. Chungkukjang was prepared, irradiated at 0, 5, 10 and 20 kGy, and then stored at $25^{\circ}C$ for six weeks. The results showed that the vegetative Bacillus cell was decreased by 5 log cycles with dose of 10 kGy with 1.78 kGy of $D_{10}$ value. Also, Bacillus was nearly eliminated by 20 kGy and that survived 10 kGy gamma irradiation was decreased significantly with the duration of storage period. The formation of $NH_{2}-nitrogen$ and $NH_{3}-nitrogen$, acidification and browning were repressed by gamma irradiation. Therefore, it was considered that the Chungkukjang treated with gamma irradiation maintained better quality than that of the control with storage.

  • In this paper, to solve some problems of the Mobile IP and local registration strategy we propose a method that can effectively support real-time traffics sensitive to delay time and packet loss. The proposed method reduces the registration time after a Mobile Node's movement between networks by carrying out the pre-registration for the domain which it will move into the network information of the link layer of cdma2000 system, at the boundary cell's handoff zone. Through the cost analysis and simulation it is shown that the proposed scheme yield a better performance compared with the Mobile IP and local registration strategies in terms of packet loss for parameters; variation of the velocity of a Mobile Node, and a distance between the Mobile Node and home networks, etc.

  • cdma2000 offers several enhancement as compared to TIA/EIA-95, although it remains fully compatible with TIA/EIA-95 systems and allows for a smooth migration from one to the other-Major new capability include:1)connectivity to GSM-MAP in addition to IP and IS-41 networks; 2) new layering with new LAC and MAC architectures for improved service multiplexing and QoS management and efficient use of radio resource ;3) new bands and band widths of operation in support of various operator need and constraints, as well as desire for a smooth and progressive migration to cdma 2000; and 4) flexible channel structure in support of multiple services with various QoS and variable transmission rates at up to 1 Mbps per channel and 2 Mbps per user. Given the phenomenal success of wireless services and desire for higher rate wireless services. improved spectrum efficiency was a major design goal in the elaboration of cdma2000. Major capacity enhancing features include; 1) turbo coding for data transmission: 2)fast forward link power control :3) forward link transmit diversity; 4) support of directive antenna transmission techniques; 5) coherent reverse link structure; and 6) enhanced access channel operation. As users increasingly rely on their cell phone at work and at home for voice and data exchange, the stand-by time and operation-time are essential parameters that can influence customer's satisfaction and service utilization. Another major goal of cdma2000 was therefore to enable manufacturers to further optimize power utilization in the terminal. Major battery life enhancing features include; 1) improved reverse link performance (i.e., reduced transmit power per information bit; 2) new common channel structure and operation ;3) quick paging channel operation; 4) reverse link gated transmission ; and 5) new MAC stated for efficient and ubiquitous idle time idle time operation. this article provides additional details on those enhancements. The intent is not to duplicate the detailed cdma2000 radio access network specification, but rather to provide some background on the new features of cdma2000 and on the qualitative improvements as compared to the TIA/EIA-95 based systems. The article is focused on the physical layer structure and associated procedures. It therefore does not cover the MAC, LAC, radio resource management [1], or any other signaling protocols in any detail. We assume some familiarity with the basic CDMA concepts used in TIA/EIA-95.

  • Premature ovarian failure (POF) is a long-term adverse effect of chemotherapy treatment. However, current available treatment regimens are not optimal. Emerging evidence suggests that bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) could restore the structure and function of injured tissues, but the homing and restorative effects of BMSCs on chemotherapy injured ovaries are still not clear. In this study, we found that granulosa cell (GC) apoptosis induced by cisplatin was reduced when BMSCs were migrated to granulosa cells (GCs) in vitro. Chemotherapy-induced POF was induced by intraperitoneal injection of cisplatin in rats. BMSCs labeled with enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP) were injected into the rats via the tail vein to investigate the homing and distribution of BMSCs in vivo. The number of BMSCs in the ovarian hilum and medulla was greater than in the cortex, but no BMSCs were found in the follicles and corpus lutea. In addition, the BMSCs treatment group's antral follicle count and estradiol levels increased after 30 days, compared with the POF group. Hence, our study demonstrates that intravenously delivered BMSCs can home to the ovaries, and restore its structure and function in POF model rats.
