<과학문화 발전 프로그램>을 위한 철학적 기초로서의 비판적 구성주의 (Critical Constructionism as a Philosophical Foundation of the Program for Enhancing Science Culture)

  • 과학문화의 발전을 위해서는 체계적이고 계획적인 프로그램이 있어야 한다. 그러한 프로그램은 과학하는 방법에 대한 과학철학적 이해를 기초로 삼아 마련되어야 한다. 이를 위해 그 동안 과학철학사상 가장 두드러진 학파들을 1) '규범적' 과학철학, 2) '역사적' 과학철학, 3) '자연화된' 과학철학의 세 가지로 정리한 다음, 각각의 입장들을 하나로 통합해낼 수 있는 입장을 <비판적 구성주의>로 명명 제안한다. 그리고 비판적 구성주의는 지금까지의 '과학하는 방법'에 대한 기술적-규범적 이해를 종합적으로 검토한 바탕 위에 성립된 입장으로서 '과학학'이라는 간학문적 접근을 매개할 수 있는 과학학 방법론의 기초로 가장 적당하다는 주장과 그 근거를 제시한다. 아울러 '비판적 구성주의'에 기초한 과학문화 발전 프로그램이 지속적이고 체계적인 '과학문화 발전 프로그램'의 철학적 기초로서 적절한 이유를 제시한다.

Conclusion In this essay I considered the relations of records and history, namely the process on the selection and choice from the records to the archives and the historical materials and in the process the role on the archivists and historians and difference and the relation of the facts and theory in the history. Archival science posits that an archives is the whole of the documents made or received in the course of purposeful activity, and of the relationships among those documents. Archival theory posits that it is the primary function of the archivists to maintain unbroken, continuing custody of societal archives, and to protect their integrity by keeping them physically and intellectually uncorrupted. The ultimate purpose of archival endeavors is to hand down to the next generations a reliable, trustworthy, and complete testimony of societal actions so that they can constitute sources of, and foundations for, future decision making. However, historical science searches for the truth in the historical facts, explains the cause and origin of the matters and reflects on th knowledge about the why and how the events happened. And history is firmly rooted on the philosophy. The goal of historian is analysing the nature of meaning of past in the society and tracing up the change and process of the transition. Archival science means historical source studies and other related disciplines. On the other hand archival management is the principle of respect for original order and the importance of original forms and conditions. Thus the relations between archival science and archives management are not one-sided but mutual. Archival science and historical studies, archivists and historians need to link more closely in order to hand down the contemporary memorial, the common memorial of mankind to the future.

  • The article examines the axiological psycho-philosophical understanding of the phenomenon of money and its value role in modern society. The traditional and virtual context of the representation of the money phenomenon is considered.Following the ideas of G. Simmel, the authors consider money not only as a purely economic, but also a psycho-philosophical, cultural and social phenomenon. Money appears as a result of cultural development of the world and gradually forms a monetary culture as a space of economic and social interaction of people. Under the influence of the monetary culture of one or another historical period, the character of a person's economic activity, values and life orientations are formed. Modern money culture is often called financial civilization. Peculiarities of modern monetary culture are studied, its main features and problems are determined in the article. The problem of the peculiarities of the constructive and destructive attitude of the individual towards money is identified; a psycho-philosophical and cultural-identification typology of people is described, which is based on clinical observations and interpreted through the prism of psychoanalytic theory. The concept of money is highlighted from the standpoint of a social-psychological approach. The theoretical foundations of money's influence on the decision-making process and human behavior are also revealed.

  • P. Dirac's contribution to the advent of the modern quantum mechanics is undeniable. His main research guideline is the principle of mathematical beauty. What is this principle on the earth\ulcorner Are there distinctive features between pure mathematician's mind and theoretical physicist' mind about the mathematical beauty\ulcorner These problems will be analyzed with respect to Dirac's case which can reflect a historical interrelationship between science and philosophy.

정보봉사의 속성과 철학적 기반 (Philosophical Foundations of Information Services and its Attributes)

  • 이 논문은 정보봉사의 개념과 속성을 밝히고, 이를 토대로 정보봉사의 철학적 기반을 세우는데 목적을 두었다. 정보봉사의 개념과 속성은 용어의 어원과 정의 및 내용, 역사적, 사회적 관점에서 그 근거를 밝혔다. 이를 통해 정보봉사라는 용어가 정보봉사의 본질과 속성 그리고 활동내용에 가장 적합한 명칭임을 논리적으로 증명함으로써 정보봉사의 이론을 체계화하였다. 정보봉사의 철학은 용어의 어원, 정의, 기능, 그리고 역사적, 사회적 관점 등에서 일관되게 흐르고 있는 정신인 교육, 정보, 상담 지도라는 세 요소와 봉사라는 인본주의적 요소를 중심으로 그 기초를 세우는 작업을 시도하였다.

Untold story about why King Sejong invented the Korean alphabet

  • HunMinJeongEum, meaning "the right sound to teach the people," was created in 1443 CE by King Sejong the Great, the fourth king of the Joseon Dynasty. In today's modern language, this letter, called Hangeul, is internationally recognized for its linguistic science. However, it is hard to find a comprehensive study on the fact that King Sejong himself created Hangeul, the Confucian perspective on natural disasters and democracy revealed in the process of writing, the independent efforts emphasized from a certain period, and the achievements of King Sejong, who shared the sorrow of the people and carried out national policies despite the extreme opposition of the nobility. Accordingly, I analyzed the consonants of HunMinJeongEum and looked at the essence of humanity and oriental philosophy (Yin-Yang Five Elements, Sangsu Philosophy, Hado). Surprisingly, different meanings from previous studies and interpretations were found, and King Sejong's "Da Vinci Code," which was left behind in the process of making the consonant, is reinterpreted and revealed. King Sejong's achievements were all connected as one. This is the root of democracy in the Republic of Korea today, and this is why King Sejong was selected as the most beloved and respected historical figure by the Korean people. This study will start with more people's understanding of the fundamental perception and philosophy of the world in Asia, including Korea, to reinterpret and reveal the hardships and great achievements experienced by a leader of a country in the process of creating korean alphabet, and to emphasize democracy, which is an important value for Asians and Westerners' mutual respect and co-prosperity.

코메니우스의 범지주의적 교육학과 과학교육의 사상적 기원에 관한 문제 (Comenius' Pansophism as a Historical Origin of Science Education)

  • One of the historical origins of the modern science education was investigated in this paper. From the view point of the pansophistic educational philosophy which emphasized "man should teach completely all things to all mankind(Omnes, Omnia, omnino)", J.A.Comenius proposed in his book "Didactica magna"(1658) that 'physica' should be learned as one of the most important school subjects. He suggested the completion of human being as a wholeness of the universe could be achieved through the physics teaching. His ideas of science education was, however, directed not to the 'rational konwledge' about the natural world, but to the 'divine wisdom'. His main thoughts and influences on science education can be summarized as follows: 1) The human being as a God's image should know the divinely created nature, because the invisible God's existence can be sensorially recognized in the nature. 2) Physics or science should be regarded as more important objects than verbal learning in general school education. 3) The cognitive union between the words('representative' or 'das Dargestellte') and things('presentative' or 'das Dargebotene') can be achieved through the objects lesson ('Anschauungsunterricht') 4) The realistic and sensor-cognitive learning theory of the object lesson is yet very important especially in the science education of elementary school, even though the inquiry learning process has became more important in the last years. 5) The religious aspect of his idea could not satisfy the social needs of industrialization and the development of professonal technics in the 18 to 19th century.

OBSERVING SITES FOR THE CENTRAL SOLAR ECLIPSES IN ANCIENT CHINESE HISTORY

  • We determine the observing sites for eclipses of large magnitude recorded in ancient Chinese chronicles from 200 BCE to 900 CE, by adopting the difference between terrestrial time and universal time, ΔT, given by Morrison & Stephenson (2004). The records of solar eclipses with large magnitude are divided into four groups in accordance with the historical variations of the capital cities of ancient Chinese dynasties. We determine areas in which all the eclipses in each group, with an eclipse magnitude larger than a certain threshold value, could be observed. We find that these areas coincide with the historical capitals, which agrees with the general idea that the solar eclipses were observed at the capital of each dynasty. This result also verifies the ΔT values during the period from 100 BCE to 400 CE, during which historical records of eclipses are so rare that the ΔT values can only be obtained by interpolating the long-term data. Moreover, we show that the eclipses described by the term Ji in East-Asian history are not all total eclipses; their mean magnitude is 0.96 ± 0.04. We find that complementary expressions, such as dark daytime and appearance of stars during the eclipse, strengthen the possibility that eclipses described by the term Ji were total. We also provide quantitative definitions for expressions such as 'being not complete and like a hook', 'being almost complete', 'visibility of stars during the eclipse', and 'darkness during an eclipse.' The literal meanings of these expressions are in agreement with the recent physical modeling of sky brightness during total eclipses provided by Können & Hinz (2008).

  • Various research methods have been used in science depending on the various contexts. This implies that certain methods or inferences may be more frequently used in earth science. The purpose of the study are to explore the contexts of earth science, and the inferences frequently used in earth science. The context earth science research is quite different from that of other areas of natural science in terms of its time scale, space scale, accessibility, complexity, and controllability. The purpose of earth science research is twofold: historical and causal. The inferences frequently used in earth science are abduction and prediction. Abductive inferences go from the resulting state to controlling state. Predictive inferences go from hypothesis to expected data.

신경제사회 중심사상으로서의 서비스철학 연구 (A Study on Service Philosophy for New Economy and Society)

  • 본 연구는 신경제사회 중심사상으로서 서비스철학 정립을 위해 수행되었다. 서비스경제시대를 이끌어갈 사상적 기반인 서비스철학은 우주와 인간의 본질원리를 반영하면서, 신경제사회를 발전시킬 수 있는 사상이어야 한다. 선행 연구들인 인류대표사상의 서비스철학성 연구와 신경제사회 및 서비스본질 연구를 토대로 서비스철학을 도출하였다. 좋은 사상은 우주의 원리와 부합해야하고 또 인류 대표사상의 정수와 부합해야 하므로, 우주의 근본원리와 인류 대표 사상의 핵심을 도출하여 반영하였다. 또한 중심사상은 신경제사회의 변화를 미래지향적으로 반영해야 하므로, 서비스의 본질과 신경제사회의 변화를 분석하였다. 현대물리학의 거시적 우주론과 미시적 양자론의 사회적 사상적 의의를 분석하였다. 동양과 서양 대표 사상들의 흐름을 분석하고, 서비스가 중심인 현대사회 관점에서 이들 사상의 시사점을 도출하였다. 제4차 산업혁명시대인 현대경제사회는 과학기술의 급속한 발전으로 인간의 역할이 크게 변화하고 있다. 산업과 일자리의 구조변화가 촉진되는 현 시대 상황을 분석하여 반영하였다. 현대물리학의 상보성원리가 고대 태극 사상과 부합하고 있으며, 현대 서양 사상이 동양 고대 사상과 상관성이 높은 것은 인류가 삶을 지속하려는 의지가 우주와 인간의 본질에 근거하고 있기 때문으로 분석되었다. 우주와 인간의 본질원리에 기반하여 서비스철학 구조를 정립하고, 서비스철학의 인간관과 역사관, 사회관, 경제관, 경영관을 도출하였다. 도출된 서비스철학의 구조를 제시하고, 향후 심화 연구를 위한 토론을 수행하였다. 서비스철학에 기반한 신경영학 정립 연구 등 각론 주제로 연구를 심화할 필요가 있다.
